«Snail on the Slope» by the Strugatsky Brothers:

Abstract

The work is aimed at identifying linguistic features in the story of the Strugatsky brothers "Snail on the slope". Six etudes devoted to various linguistic realities are presented. In particular, the following points are considered: the pace of speech, linguistic interpretation of events, methods of deciphering the text, new words, substantiation of prepositions, features of the use of the conjunction but. The results obtained complement the general reflexive linguistic picture of the works of A.N. and B.N. Strugatsky.
