The presented investigations extend the discussion of the original HeV method, used in historic value assessment procedures. The specificity of historical values indicates the validity of starting with historical analyses, building a narrative, and then searching for ways to discover the extent to which the architectural substance perpetuates and transmits this narrative, as well as what specific values are associated with it according to the selected system.","PeriodicalId":414139,"journal":{"name":"Space&FORM","volume":"72 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138984853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis covered twenty-nine cities that belonged to the network before 2019. The research is divided into three stages: the first one focuses on the analysis of strategic and planning documents at the municipal, provincial, and national levels; the second one examines investments by the cities and determines their relation to the cittaslow idea to highlight directions of development; whereas the third stage analyses statistical data to determine whether the cittaslow cities in Poland show an upward growth trend based on selected indicators. The analyses aim to assess whether and to what extent the idea of cittaslow is an important factor in the development of the cities.","PeriodicalId":414139,"journal":{"name":"Space&FORM","volume":"97 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138985088","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After analyzing three documents of the Strategy, conclusions are drawn regarding the shortcomings resulting from these documents and good practices related to them. The guidelines may be helpful for other metropolises and for improving the current economic and spatial planning system in Poland. The article also draws attention to the authors of individual documents, which is particularly important in times of depreciation of the urban planning profession.","PeriodicalId":414139,"journal":{"name":"Space&FORM","volume":"138 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139011974","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article presents a case study of this phenomenon in the form of mathematical analysis of spatial parameters in the district of Nowe Miasto in Szczecin (1845). The analysis demonstrates the absence of the use of geometrical proportion principles, while the principle of ratios was applied. The urban composition of New Town features urban elements shaped in the Baroque era, such as wide promenades connected to squares. However there has been a \"loosening\" of the rigorous geometry and symmetry typical of the Baroque era.","PeriodicalId":414139,"journal":{"name":"Space&FORM","volume":"201 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138984903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The division between public and private in the European cities, particularly post-socialist cities, has historically been rather clear. The aim of the research is to assess newly built housing estates in Warsaw in terms of providing a sufficient number of public parking spaces. The study adopted the in situ inspection method and was supported by a diagnostic survey in the form of a questionnaire. The article analyzes two housing estates with service premises on the ground floor at Komputerowa Street in Warsaw's Mokotów district. The analyzed area is covered by the Local Spatial Development Plan, which would indicate a well-planned space, but the solutions confronted with reality turn out to be insufficient for the needs of a contemporary inhabitant of the capital. The article also examines nowadays pro-ecological methods of city planning, which introduce restrictions on car traffic, and analyzes the possibility of using them in the discussed housing estates.","PeriodicalId":414139,"journal":{"name":"Space&FORM","volume":"158 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138984965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study presented in the article concerns public library spaces in which natural greenery was introduced as an integral part of the interior design. The analysis involves quantitative observation with an eye-tracking device. The results demonstrate the rate of observed fixation points presented as heat maps, which describe the connection between the presence of greenery in the interiors and the observers' viewing track.
