En este marco, el presente trabajo propone como objetivo general realizar una revision del estado de la evaluacion opto-termica de materiales y componentes de la envolvente urbano-edilicia, en relacion al contexto de transferencia y a las posibilidades de desarrollo tecnologico regionales para la estimacion de propiedades e indicadores energeticos de la envolvente urbano-edilicia. La revision muestra que para efectivizar el ahorro energetico derivado de la implementacion de programas de certificacion energetica es imperativo contar con bases de datos del comportamiento opto-termico de materiales y tecnologias locales. Y que, en el contexto socio-economico de los paises en vias de desarrollo, esto demanda la exploracion de metodologias de bajo costo. EnglishThe International Energy Agency in its report on energy efficient building envelopes submits that building facades have a key role in determining thermal and visual comfort and energy consumption for indoor conditioning. Within this framework, this papers general objective is to conduct a review on the local state of opto-thermal evaluation of urban and building envelope materials and components, regarding local state of transfer and development technology, for the estimation of thermal and optical properties and energy indexes of the urban and built envelop. This review shows that in order to reach energy-savings resulting of the implementation of energy certification programs it is imperative to count with opto-thermal databases of local materials and technologies. El objetivo consiste en analizar la relacion entre el comportamiento y confort termico exterior de canales viales urbanos (CVU) insertos en llanura y piedemonte. Para ello, se selecciono y monitoreo seis CVU insertos en tres formas de trama (racional, organica y Cul-de-Sac). Los resultados en cuanto al comportamiento termico indican que el CVU racional es mas caluroso en piedemonte que en llanura; el CVU Cul-de-Sac es mas caluroso en llanura que en piedemonte; y el CVU organico registra la temperatura maxima mas elevada pero la temperatura minima mas fresca en llanura. En terminos de confort exterior, el CVU racional en llanura alcanza un 30%, y en el sector de piedemonte representa un 20%; el CVU organico en piedemonte alcanza un 30%, y en el sector de llanura alcanza un 20%; siendo el CVU Cul-de-Sac en piedemonte el de mejor habitabilidad (70%); mientras que en llanura alcanza solo un 20%. Esto demuestra que la respuesta termica y el grado de confort de los CVU insertos en una misma trama urbana tienen diferentes comportamientos de acuerdo a la geomorfologia de implantacion EnglishThe work is carried out in the Metropolitan Area of Mendoza (AMM), an arid climate city with two different geomorphological contexts. The objective seeks to study the relationship between the outdoor thermal behavior and comfort of urban canyons (UC) inserted into plain and hillside. To achieve this, six UC inserted in three urban grids (rational, organic and Cul-de-Sac) were selected and monitored. The results regarding the thermal behavior indicate that the rational UC is hotter in hillside than in plain; the Cul-de-Sac UC is hotter in plain than in hillside; and the organic UC has the highest maximum temperature but the coolest minimum temperature in plain. In terms of outdoor thermal comfort, the rational UC in the plain reaches 30%, and in the hillside it represents 20%; the organic UC in hillside reaches 30%, and in the plain it reaches 20%; being the best case the Cul-de-Sac UC in hillside (70%); while in plain it reaches only 20%. Se analizan los consumos por ano y por unidad de superficie que permitan obtener una lectura general de la situacion actual. Ademas se realizan analisis estadisticos con el fin de comprender las posibles relaciones entre los consumos energeticos y dos variables arquitectonicas que caracterizan el diseno y la tecnologia constructiva: Area vidriada al norte y K global. Los resultados indican que la energia con mayor participacion anual relativa es la electrica (55%), mientras que el gas natural lo es durante la estacion fria (72%) asociado al abastecimiento de energia en calefaccion. Respecto al consumo por tipo de energia y por unidad de superficie cubierta, los valores son de 26,24 kWh/m2.ano para la electricidad y de 21,80 kWh/m2.ano para el gas natural. El desarrollo de la investigacion permite concluir que existe una importante asociacion entre la envolvente edilicia, tanto opaca como transparente, y el consumo de energia, reconociendo su potencialidad de mejoramiento que se traduzca en optimizacion energetica. EnglishThe present work aims to investigate the energy consumption of 17 schools located in the Metropolitan Area of San Juan. To reach a general knowledge of the current situation, consumptions per year and per unit area are analyzed. In addition, statistical analyzes are carried out in order to understand possible relationships between energy consumption and two architectural variables that characterize design and construction technology: Glazed area to the north and U global. The results indicate that electricity is the energy with the greatest relative annual participation (55%), while natural gas is during the cold season (72%), associated with heating energy supply. Regarding consumption by type of energy and per unit area covered, the values are 26.24 kWh / m2.year for electricity and 21.80 kWh / m2.year for natural gas. Para ello, se analizan los materiales caracteristicos de los sistemas constructivos racionalizados propios de zonas arido-sismicas en relacion con las emisiones de dioxido de carbono asociadas a los mismos durante su produccion, uso y disposicion final. Los resultados alcanzados permiten determinar el nivel de sustentabilidad de los materiales analizados de acuerdo con su importancia relativa en la cadena de valor de la construccion de un pais emergente como Argentina. Con base en ello, puede realizarse la estimacion temprana del comportamiento energetico de la vivienda social, asi como la optimizacion de dichos materiales conforme a una mirada integral de la problematica habitacional en terminos de ciclo de vida. Por tanto, la herramienta desarrollada permite empoderar a los usuarios de dichas viviendas, para que puedan ejercer su derecho a una vivienda digna y a un ambiente sano, equilibrado y apto para el desarrollo humano, tal como lo establecen los articulos 14bis y 41 de la Constitucion Nacional Argentina. EnglishThe objective of this research is to contribute to Environmental Sustainability in the aggregate through the development of a support system for decision making in the different phases that take part in the life cycle (LCA) of buildings. For this, the characteristic materials of the rationalized construction systems of arid-seismic zones are analyzed in relation to the carbon dioxide emissions associated with them during their production, use and final disposal. The results achieved allow us to determine the level of sustainability of the materials analyzed according to their relative importance in the value chain of the construction of an emerging country such as Argentina. Based on this, the early estimation of the energy behavior of the social housing can be made, as well as the optimization of said materials according to an integral view of the housing problem in terms of life cycle. Se busca conseguir una evaluacion objetiva que ayude en la toma de decisiones, para minimizar el consumo de recursos naturales asi como su impacto medioambiental. El modelo de evaluacion, adaptado la metodologia del grupo de investigacion ARDITEC de la Universidad de Sevilla, en colaboracion con el Instituto Superior Tecnico de la Universidade de Lisboa, se aplica a proyectos en Portugal. El modelo tiene una estructura presupuestaria donde a cada recurso se le asignan coeficientes para el calculo de su energia incorporada de fabricacion ademas de la empleada en su puesta en obra. Se presenta el estudio de dos casos practicos ubicados en Lisboa, ambos albergan oficinas, con un alto porcentaje de superficie vidriada en fachadas. El trabajo muestra los resultados comparando la colocacion de peliculas solar de control solar frente a la sustitucion de las ventanas, llegando a un ahorro del 70% de las emisiones producidas en las renovaciones resueltas con peliculas. EnglishThe objective of this paper is the environmental evaluation of two possible constructive solutions that improve the energy efficiency of existing buildings: replacement of the complete window with a new more efficient one or the use of solar control sheets attached to the current glass. A quantitative evaluation is proposed to help in the decision making to minimize the consumption of natural resources, energy incorporated in the materials, as well as its environmental impact, equivalent CO2 emissions. As an evaluation model, the methodology of the ARDITEC research group of the University of Seville has been adapted, in collaboration with the Higher Technical Institute of the University of Lisbon, applying to real projects in Portugal. The model has a budget structure where each resource is assigned coefficients for the calculation of its incorporated energy and carbon footprint, in its manufacture and commissioning. The study of two office buildings is presented, with a high percentage of glazed surface in facades. Esta estrategia persigue evitar riesgos de sobrecalentamiento y reducir la necesidad de uso de los equipos mecanicos. El objetivo del estudio expuesto es evaluar la influencia de la ventilacion natural diurna y nocturna en el consumo de energia en condiciones reales de uso de una vivienda con construccion tradicional y construccion industrializada. Para ello, se uso un modelo computacional de una vivienda unifamiliar, modelada y ajustada en el programa Energy Plus v8.6. Y, para el modelado de la ventilacion natural, se utilizo “Airflow Network” (algoritmo AIRNET), validado por Gu (2007) y Crawley et al. (2001). Los resultados indican que, tanto en la construccion masica como en la liviana, con ventilacion nocturna, los consumos energeticos son menores en 50% que ventilando de dia. La ventilacion natural en edificios bioclimaticos resulta una estrategia indispensable para el enfriamiento del mismo. En esta situacion radica la importancia de contar con una herramienta de simulacion para el ensayo de diferentes modos de uso y control de la misma. EnglishPassive cooling through natural ventilation has a great potential for single-family homes and temperate continents such as the city of Mendoza, located in the central west of the Argentine Republic. This strategy seeks to end the risks of overheating and reduces the energy consumption of mechanical conditioning equipment. This study aims to evaluate the influence on energy consumption, in two ventilation scenarios (day and night) for two constructive resolutions (light and mass). For this, a computational model of a single-family house, modeled and adjusted in the Energy Plus v8.6 program was used. For the ventilation model, “Airflow Network” (AIRNET algorithm) validated by Gu (2007) y Crawley et al. (2001) was used. The results indicate that, in the construction as well as in life, with night ventilation the energy consumptions are lower in 50% than they ventilate during the day. The natural ventilation in bioclimatic buildings is an indispensable strategy for the cooling of the same. Sin embargo, estos efectos se ven mitigados por la densidad edilicia y por los periodos de foliacion del arbolado urbano. Por esto, el objetivo del presente trabajo es realizar el estudio cuantitativo y cualitativo de las condiciones luminicas durante el invierno. Se propone el abordaje de luz natural en dos casos de estudio caracteristicos de la ciudad, mediante tecnicas combinadas de mediciones in situ y valoraciones subjetivas de los usuarios de los espacios. Los resultados obtenidos de confort visual en espacios exteriores han determinado que mas alla de las diferencias luminicas de los espacios, los sujetos se encuentran adaptados al clima luminoso de la region, a las diferentes condicionantes que genera la morfologia urbana y, consecuentemente, a la diversidad de contrastes que esta puede arrojar en el espacio urbano. EnglishThe city of Mendoza, located in the central-western region of the Argentine Republic, has a semi-arid climate and therefore high levels of solar radiation throughout the year. However, these effects are mitigated by the building density and foliation periods of urban trees. Hence, the objective of this research was to carry out a qualitative and quantitative study of daylight conditions during winter. Natural light was examined through two cases that are characteristic of the city, using a combination of in situ measurement techniques and subjective assessments of the spaces by users. Para ello, se analizan, por un lado, BREEAM, LEED, CASBEE y VERDE y, por otro, MEAs contextualizadas y desarrolladas en Jordania y Corea. Se utiliza como tecnica de investigacion el estudio teorico de las MEAs mencionadas, a traves de lo cual se caracterizan y diagnostican dichas herramientas. Como resultado se obtiene el marco operativo en que se circunscriben sus desarrollos, las variables de analisis, el tipo de informacion contenidas en las mismas y sus principales limitaciones. Del contexto nacional, se extrae que corresponden a la normativa IRAM los principales avances en lo que respecta a calidad edilicia, desde una perspectiva centrada en la sustentabilidad. Se concluye que la correlacion entre la metodologia VERDE NE UNIFAMILIAR V1.G y la normativa IRAM, permite construir un sistema de indicadores que facilita el desarrollo de una metodologia contextualizada a la situacion fisico-ambiental, economica y social de Argentina en general y, en particular, orientada al caso de la Vivienda Social en Zona Arida (VSZA). EnglishThis article has as aims determine the feasibility of contextualization of Environmental Assessment Methodologies (MEAs) of greater relevance at the international level that are applicable to the assessment of housing, compared to the current development of the Argentine IRAM regulations on sustainability. To do this, BREEAM, LEED, CASBEE and VERDE are analyzed on the one hand, and on the other, contextualized MEAs developed in Jordan and Korea. The theoretical study of the aforementioned MEAs is used as a research technique, through which these tools are characterized and diagnosed. As a result, we obtain the operational framework in which their developments are circumscribed, the analysis variables, the type of information contained in them and their main limitations. Respect to the national context, it is extracted that the main advances in regard to building quality, from a perspective centered on sustainability, correspond to the IRAM rules. Este trabajo parte de la hipotesis de que su comportamiento, en relacion al uso de estrategias de adaptacion pasivas o activas para satisfacer su condicion de confort, incide en el rendimiento energetico edilicio. El objetivo es conocer la correlacion entre el Nivel de Eficiencia del Usuario (indice NEU) y el Consumo Energetico del edificio. Para ello, se realiza un trabajo de campo en 14 edificios residenciales en altura, ubicados en San Juan, Argentina. En base a encuestas y relevamiento de datos objetivos, se conocen los habitos que el usuario promedio emplea para satisfacer su condicion de confort termico en periodo calido, se calcula el indice NEU y se correlaciona con los datos de consumo energetico. En este estudio se encuentra una fuerte correlacion (R=-0,779) entre comportamiento, concientizacion y consumo de energia. EnglishThe residential building sector accounts for 44% of local electricity consumption and is the user responsible for this consumption, especially through the use of energy-intensive systems such as individual air-conditioning systems. This work is based on the hypothesis that their behaviour, in relation to the use of passive or active adaptation strategies to satisfy their condition of comfort, has an impact on building energy efficiency. The objective is to know the correlation between the User Efficiency Level (UEL index) and the Energy Consumption of the building. For this purpose, fieldwork is carried out in 14 residential buildings located in San Juan-Argentina. Based on surveys and objective data collection, the habits that the average user uses to satisfy his or her thermal comfort condition in warm periods are known, the UEL index is calculated and correlated with the energy consumption data.
