Most studies have investigated the alerting effect of static light. The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of dynamic light of changing frequency and CCT range on human alertness and task performance. Ten participants including 7 males and 3 females took part to perform six phases of dynamic light by varying their CCT range and CCT frequency. There are six experimental phases: CCT ranging from 4000K to 10000K, with frequency at 2h, 1h, 0.5h, and CCT ranging from 6000K to 12000K, with frequency 2h, 1h, 0.5h. EEG alpha, beta power, 2-back and 3-back task and questionnaires were used to measure each subject. The results showed that, power in alpha range was significantly, i.e. lower after exposure in high CCT condition than low CCT condition. Beta power was also significantly higher in high frequency condition than low frequency. For both 2-back and 3-back tasks, participants perform significantly better in high CCT condition, but no marked difference between different frequency. It was also found that there is a significant different effect on the questionnaire score between different CCT ranges. In general, participants felt more alert in higher CCT range condition and higher CCT frequency conditions. The results can be used to overcome drowsiness after lunch, to increase alertness and to improve work efficiency.","PeriodicalId":413080,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th China International Forum on Solid State Lighting (SSLChina)","volume":"169 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127500070","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This has been done by conducting a series of FEM simulations to establish a response surface model for LED package geometric parameters to predict solder joint reliability. It shows that the LED carrier size (A) and solder coverage (SC) are the most influential factors. Decreasing the package size and increasing the solder coverage area can prolong the lifetime. Besides, it shows that the area ratio between two solder joints (AR) also affects the reliability greatly at large carrier size and solder coverage. It is found that in order to minimize the fatigue damage accumulation in the joints, a package design with a small carrier size, large solder coverage and equal pad size is preferable. Given the fact that the effect of SC is marginal in smaller packages, from a cost reduction point of view, intermediate solder coverage level is suggested.","PeriodicalId":413080,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th China International Forum on Solid State Lighting (SSLChina)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127556232","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The micro structures on the PSS enhance GaN growth and increase light extraction resulting in a higher efficiency. Reduction of the structure sizes down to nanometer scale will result in even higher efficiency and lower costs of the PSS. Further, the market is moving towards larger (4\" and 6\") wafers. The conventional PSS manufacturing techniques (optical lithography and hard stamp nanoimprint lithography (NIL)) do not offer a cost-effective solution for the fabrication of micro or nano PSS on large wafers. Soft-stamp NIL is a promising technology that overcomes most of the disadvantages of optical lithography and hard stamp NIL but also has its drawbacks. In this paper we present how Substrate Conformal Imprint Lithography (SCIL) solves the limitations of soft-stamp NIL techniques and allows sub-10 nm resolution on large, non-flat wafers.","PeriodicalId":413080,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th China International Forum on Solid State Lighting (SSLChina)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130122145","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, each component has its own pattern of impact on the reliability problem of LED packages, such as chip failure, package failure, and interconnection failure and so on. Among these failures, the fatigue failure of wire bonds those work as the interconnection is a common but severe issue that will cause a catastrophic failure of the LED package. Therefore developing a precise prediction method for the fatigue lifetime of the wire bonds has attracted many attentions of LED manufacturers and researchers. In this paper, the thermal, mechanical stress distributions on a high power LED package driven by different currents were simulated from a thermal-mechanical finite element simulation with the ANSYS Multiphysics module. Then the mean cycles to failure could be estimated based on the semi-empirical fatigue model.","PeriodicalId":413080,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th China International Forum on Solid State Lighting (SSLChina)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131495499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The lighting system consists of ten LED light panels hung on the ceiling. There were 5 different lighting conditions including three CCTs and three illuminance levels (3501×6500K, 5501×6500K, 7501×6500K, 7501×4000K, 7501×80 00K). Fourteen participants took part in the experiment. Testing methods included visual acuity, attention, typing, reading, critical flicker frequency (CFF), ECG, emotion and lighting appearance questionnaire, and eye fatigue questionnaire. The results confirmed that 750 lux gave the highest task performance with less eye fatigue. At this level, the 6500K condition achieved the highest work efficiency. Hence the overall best work performance occurred at 6500K–7501×. On the other hand, 4000K condition was considered to be the most comfortable lighting since it caused the lowest visual acuity reduction and achieved the highest relaxation and comfortable score","PeriodicalId":413080,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th China International Forum on Solid State Lighting (SSLChina)","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115781800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The optical properties of Mn-doped CdSe QDs were investigatedusing ultraviolet-visible and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The absorption spectra exhibit a red-shift with increasing QDs size, which is attributed to the quantum confinement effect. The PL spectra exhibit a first blue-shift to a later red-shiftwith increasing QDs size, which is attributed to the combined effect of Mn-doping and quantum confinement effect. Based on the above advantages, in modern society, the power of MPS switching diode is getting larger and larger, which is used in many fields, and almost all electrical energy converts into heat, so that the chip junction temperature rises rapidly, when the temperature exceeds the maximum allowable temperature, the MPS power switching diode will be damaged due to overheating, so heat dissipation is the key problem for MPS package. In this study, the heat sink is installed under the MPS diode, so heat can be exchanged with the surrounding environment by adopting to forced convection, and combined with high thermal conductivity material as insulating layer of the MPS diode substrate, so the heat generated can be dissipated in a timely manner. In this paper, aiming at the heat characteristics of high power MPS switching diode, a three-dimensional model of the MPS power switching diode is constructed by using three-dimensional drawing software Solid-Works. The diamond like carbon (DLC) film and aluminum oxide (Al2O3) film are respectively used as the insulating layers of the substrate, and the thermal analysis is carried out by ANSYS. Through changing the forced convection coefficient on the surface of the radiator, the relationship between the different convection coefficient and the maximum temperature of the device is obtained. In addition to thermal analysis, the temperature distribution of the device is obtained by infrared thermal imaging instrument test method.","PeriodicalId":413080,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th China International Forum on Solid State Lighting (SSLChina)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115101517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
