This research supports the theme of the G20 congress, how the world creates strategies to strengthen the economy amidst global uncertainty, then this study will examine how economic uncertainty can create significant risks for business. Methodology: The method used in this research is using data on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. There are 33 companies as samples for the 2021-2022 period, the test tool used is Stata. Result and Conlusion: The results of this research are that high economic policy uncertainty can hamper economic growth, reduce investment, or cause volatility in financial markets. Conversely, when the level of economic policy uncertainty is low, the confidence of economic actors can increase, and this can create a more stable environment and encourage economic activity. Innovation has an effect on increasing company performance with a coefficient of 0.0024 and a significance level of 0.30 < 0.05, meaning that innovation can mediate between economic and environmental uncertainty on performance, This aims to produce positive change, increase competitiveness and create added value. Risk produces a coefficient level that influences performance (0.04) but does not directly influence performance (0.77>0.05), meaning that risk cannot mediate between economic and environmental uncertainty on performance, this is because good risk can help manage risk and reduce NPL level. Novelty: The novelty in this research lies in the role of economic uncertainty and environmental uncertainty in improving banking performance, as well as looking at banking innovation and risk. This research can provide valuable insight for the banking industry in facing complex economic and environmental challenges, therefore the novelty presented in this study is that banking companies can seek innovation in adjusting product and service portfolios and implementation processes, as well as managing risks by paying attention to the consequences of changing policies.","PeriodicalId":41277,"journal":{"name":"McGill International Journal of Sustainable Development Law and Policy","volume":" 614","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135186091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study explores the interplay between content and evaluation components within personality formation and examines its temporal dimension. Additionally, the research investigates the theoretical aspects of personality formation, distinguishing between personal and social dimensions, and considers its ontogenetic development in relation to social categorization processes. Methods: The study employs a comprehensive approach to understanding personality formation, drawing on psychophysiological, personal, social, and deep characteristics. Various types and influences of the social environment on personality formation are categorized based on parameters such as the presence of formation crises, decision-making strength, openness to new choices, and more. This classification serves as a framework for analyzing the diverse expressions and substantive characteristics of personality formation. Results: The research reveals that personality formation is a dynamic, lifelong process that can undergo both progressive and regressive changes. It is shown that personality formation is rooted in social interactions and language assimilation, with alterations in the individual's social environment leading to corresponding changes in formation. Various types of personality formation, including ego-formation, group formation, and positive and negative forms, are identified and examined in detail. Conclusions: The study concludes that an integral approach, encompassing psychophysiological, personal, social, and deep aspects, offers a promising avenue for comprehending personality formation. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the complexity and diversity of personality formation processes, moving beyond surface-level classifications. Furthermore, it underscores the significant role of social interactions and environments in shaping personality formation, providing valuable insights for psychological research and practice.","PeriodicalId":41277,"journal":{"name":"McGill International Journal of Sustainable Development Law and Policy","volume":" 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135292465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It employs the paradigm of netocracy institutionalism to assess the multifaceted influence of social networks and the need for new concepts to understand the complexities of today's communication society. Methods: The research employs a systematic approach, drawing from theories like netocracy, e-government, legal field theory, and concepts related to internet communications and the information society. It utilizes structural-functional, institutional, and interdisciplinary approaches to analyze the role of social networks in public policy and modern political communication. Results: Social networks play a pivotal role in modern public administration, with an increasing reliance on information and communication technologies. The notion of e-government encompasses activities based on these technologies, including providing services, information exchange, public procurement, and more. A broader view of e-government focuses on transforming internal and external interactions for optimizing management and enhancing public services, thus promoting electronic democracy. The concept of netocratic public management emphasizes transparency, cooperation, and public involvement in decision-making, aligning with the principles of the information society. Netocracy, represented by a technologically adept elite, influences and manipulates public consciousness and behavior through advanced communication abilities in the digital realm. Conclusions: The study underscores the growing significance of social networks in modern governance, with netocracy emerging as a powerful and influential force in the digital age. It also highlights the need for new social structures and concepts to grasp the complexities of today's communication society. In this context, social networks have become indispensable tools for communication between governments and citizens, offering extensive opportunities for interaction and engagement.","PeriodicalId":41277,"journal":{"name":"McGill International Journal of Sustainable Development Law and Policy","volume":" 17","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135292455","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Global surveys consistently rank the mining, gas and other sectors at the bottom of all sectors in terms of social and environmental performance. Therefore, companies in these sectors have no choice but to change their approach through a comprehensive understanding of their business impacts. Methodology: The method used in this study is purposive sampling, where the sample criteria include companies featured in sustainability reports, as well as companies that have incurred environmental costs in the form of environmental development program costs. Result and Conclusion: The study found that the strength of a company's management control system (MCS) plays a significant role in moderating the relationship between CSR activities and sustainable reporting. When the t-value is greater than 2.055 and the significance level (sig) is less than 0.05, the MCS variable acts as a moderator, indicating that a strong control system reinforces the relationship between CSR activities and sustainable reporting. Conversely, when the MCS is weak, the relationship between CSR strategy and sustainability reporting is also weakened.","PeriodicalId":41277,"journal":{"name":"McGill International Journal of Sustainable Development Law and Policy","volume":" 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135292464","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Theoretical Framework: The investigation is anchored in the paradigm that Relationship Quality—characterized by trust, commitment, and satisfaction—plays a crucial role in enhancing both individual and organizational efficacy. The study theorizes that a robust relationship quality leads to improved job satisfaction, loyalty, and professional development, thereby influencing performance outcomes. Method: A qualitative descriptive methodology was employed, segregating the collected data into primary and secondary categories. Primary data were gathered through observations and interviews, while secondary data were compiled from intermediary sources such as written documents. The data underwent a rigorous process of reduction, display, and verification to ensure comprehensive analysis and authenticity. Results: The study concludes that the Population and Civil Registration Office of Bone Regency exhibits strong and productive working relationships, with high levels of trust, professionalism, and adaptability among employees. Despite the prevalence of high job satisfaction, the need for revisiting the compensation scheme was identified as a factor for further improvement. Conclusion: The research advocates for the advancement of trust, adaptability, and professionalism through continuous training and effective communication. It also suggests that implementing a compensation satisfaction survey and a performance-based incentive scheme will enhance employee dedication and performance, fostering sustainable organizational growth. Originality/Value: This study contributes to the existing literature by providing empirical insights into the significance of Relationship Quality in public sector organizations, particularly within the Population and Civil Registration Office of Bone Regency, which has scarcely been examined. The findings underscore the potential of strategic HR initiatives in bolstering organizational performance.","PeriodicalId":41277,"journal":{"name":"McGill International Journal of Sustainable Development Law and Policy","volume":"330 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135392734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It aims to analyze theoretical approaches to international security and its development in a changing global landscape. Methods: The study employs a combination of dialectical and hermeneutic principles for analyzing the subject matter. It uses systemic-structural and functional methods to investigate the role of international organizations in global security. Various research methods, such as analogy, historicism, formal-logical analysis, and situational analysis, are applied to examine the issues under consideration. Results: The article highlights several key findings, including the diminishing authority of the United Nations (UN) as a universal international organization in the present global context. It emphasizes the need for the international community to address the geopolitical changes and challenges of the 21st century. The current state of world politics is characterized by perpetual global instability, and existing peacekeeping and peacemaking mechanisms have shown limitations in addressing modern hybrid challenges and threats. Conclusions: In conclusion, the article argues that the existing system for managing international relations is insufficient for the 21st century. It underscores the importance of streamlining relations between sovereign states, modernizing multilateral institutions, and establishing an effective oversight body to strengthen the global security system. Private enterprises play a very important role in China's economic development. With the increase of scale, private enterprises are increasingly attaching importance to employee management. The new generation of knowledge-based employees has become the main force of Chinese private enterprise employees, and the stability of the new generation of knowledge-based employees directly affects the sustainable development of the enterprise. However, the turnover rate of employees in private enterprises is high, especially for knowledge-based employees who leave frequently, which affects the development of private enterprises. Further reference is made to Target 13.3 of SDG 2030, which aims to improve education, awareness-raising, and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction, and early warning as methods to combat climate change and its impacts. Theoretical Reference: Paramount considerations in addressing the impacts of climate change on children revolve around two central principles: children's best interests and the intergenerational equity principle. These principles stress the importance of prioritizing children's well-being and rights in climate change policies. Furthermore, they underscore the significance of long-term thinking and decision-making to ensure a sustainable and habitable planet for future generations, in line with broader goals of sustainability and environmental responsibility. Method: The study is based on doctrinal legal research, using reasoning to assess statutory provisions and legal precedents. Data from library research were analyzed through content analysis, primarily focusing on legal concepts, principles, and selected statutes. Results and conclusion: The article reveals that climate change has the potential to negatively impact children's social status, safety, and health, resulting in stunted life potential and infringed development rights. In the Southeast Asia region, legal measures are in place to safeguard children's rights to a safe, clean, healthy, and sustainable environment, primarily through the promotion of climate change education. These legal protections are aligned with Target 13.3 of the SDG 2030 framework. However, for these protections to be effective, there is a need for international and national implementation. Therefore, it becomes crucial for the global community to prioritize the safeguarding and preparation of children for the climate change crisis. This involves increasing awareness, providing secure options, and encouraging active participation, particularly in the realm of children's education. Research Implications: This study emphasizes the vital link between climate change and the welfare of children in Southeast Asia, highlighting the necessity for comprehensive, international, and child-centric approaches to tackle the consequences of climate change on their rights and progress. It demands immediate action to safeguard the most susceptible individuals and guarantee every child's safe and sustainable future. Originality/Value: This study significantly increases comprehension of the complex correlation between climate change and child rights and provides a foundation for targeted actions and the development of policies.","PeriodicalId":41277,"journal":{"name":"McGill International Journal of Sustainable Development Law and Policy","volume":"336 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135393004","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
