The original RGB based color image of Lena can be firstly modeled as pure imaginary quaternion matrix, i.e. any pixel of R,G,B corresponding to the I,J,K imaginary axis , to ensure the integrity of pixel in the computation. The obtained quaternion matrix can be split up into 8×8 sub-blocks and vector quantization to make up of a new sample set. This sample set then is used to train the quaternion neural network adopting quaternion Generalized Hebbian Algorithm (QGHA), acquiring a quaternion weight coefficient that can get the principal components (PCs), the weight can be used to compress and reconstruct the image. Experimental results show the proposed algorithm is effective, the weight trained from image of Lena is successfully used to other images' compression and reconstruction.","PeriodicalId":412601,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Multimedia Technology","volume":"516 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123088805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Vehicular safety communications applications cannot tolerate long connection establishment delays before being enabled to communicate with other vehicles encountered on the road. Therefore, the wireless channel access control protocol is of particular concern and needs to be designed efficiently. However, the random contending access medium mechanism is one of the main causes of poor real time performance. In this paper, we illuminate the moving characteristics of vehicle nodes through Mathematic method. Then we propose a strategy about direction-based slots contending mechanism to improve the real time performance. The simulation result shows that the Direction-based Slots Scheduing Strategy can dramatically decrease the effect of opposite nodes to reduce the slot collision probability. At last, we analyse some shortcomings of the proposed strategy.","PeriodicalId":412601,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Multimedia Technology","volume":"303 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124284143","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The registration errors from different directions were adopted to simulate the real registration error. Meanwhile, the infrared and visible images under different registration error were analyzed. The result showed that among the Laplacian Pyramid fusion, Gradient Pyramid fusion, Contrast Pyramid fusion and SIDWT with Haar fusion, the Laplacian Pyramid fusion can better maintain the infrared and visible image fusion quality under a certain registration error. Moreover, when dealing with different registration errors, single integration indicator was not sufficient in describing the infrared and visible image fusion quality. Instead, the multi integration indicators shall be taken into consideration.","PeriodicalId":412601,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Multimedia Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117196942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on V-I-S (vegetation - impervious surface - soil) model, the 2008 Landsat TM data of Nansha in Guangzhou was unmixed by normalized linear spectral mixture model to get the spatial distribution of the impervious surface fraction, on this basis to do the landscape classification, landscape indices calculation and landscape pattern analysis. The results suggested that the combination of V-I-S model and normalized linear spectral mixture model to unmix sub-pixels has a higher accuracy when compared with the conventional landscape classification with a pixel as the unit and the land cover index calculation; On the whole, the average impervious surface fraction of Nansha was relatively low, indicating the urbanization level was not high, the proportion of each level of urban land existed large difference; From Huangge Town to Nansha Street, Hengli Town and Wanqingsha Town, the level of landscape fragmentation became more weakened, the mean patch area increased gradually, the proportion of high-density urban land use declined; The high-density urban land and the moderate-density urban land had the highest patch density, perimeter area fractal dimension and the level of landscape fragmentation, the shape was the most complex.","PeriodicalId":412601,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Multimedia Technology","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125191658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, traditional data gathering methods cannot be applied. In this paper, a novel data gathering method named average contact probability-based data delivery scheme (ACPBD) is proposed. ACPBD introduces centrality metric- average contact probability. The value of nodes average contact probability is calculated which used for choosing the next hop. In order to optimize node queue, ACPBD employs TTL to decide message's transmission and dropping for minimizing transmission overhead. Simulation results have shown that the proposed ACPBD data delivery scheme does not only achieve five times as much long network lifetime as SRAD and FAD, but also get the higher message delivery ratio with lower transmission overhead and data delivery delay than SRAD and FAD","PeriodicalId":412601,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Multimedia Technology","volume":"163 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114927722","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
