Facing the restrictive housing policy that expels these inhabitants to the periphery and the inaccessible prices of the housing market, cohabitation in extended families appears as an alternative that allows them to maintain their networks, location, access to the city, and labor sources. This co-habitation of extended families or co-residence induces them to generate new housing typologies that allow sustaining this lifestyle. To achieve this, they modify the houses and land in which they live, according to their interests, needs and economic capacity. In order to understand these typologies, 100 cases of extended families who live in co-habitation in the central area of Santiago were analyzed, which allowed to recognize and categorize 11 types of site occupation and 12 of housing organization. The study reveals a wide variety of residential strategies questioning the housing production model for mononuclear families based on predefined concepts and elements of architecture that remain in question for not recognizing the wide diversity of ways of living.","PeriodicalId":41052,"journal":{"name":"Revista 180","volume":"1 1","pages":"98-111"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2020-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42683232","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"艺术学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research aims to become a first step in the elaboration of a state of the art of the Chilean font market, and a contribution to the development, understanding and valuation of the discipline in the region. Most of the data in this study was extracted directly from MyFonts, which is today the most important distributor of fonts in the world. The registry was executed between 2011 and 2018, and it compiled records such as the complete list of Chilean fonts available for sale in this platform, their respective designers and foundries, the numbers of font styles of each one and other similar details. In addition, we have incorporated some points of analysis, such as the presence or absence of serifs or the stylistic classification of each alphabet. The results are expressed through tables and graphs that summarize the data and shows the information in an organized and systematic way, so everyone can get to know the dimensions and main characteristics of the “Chilean font market”. Some key details which can be found here are: the intense productive progression of the Chilean fonts in the last three years, the ascending participation of women, the low production of fonts for continuous text or the predominance of the humanist sans style, among others. Finally, it is important to mention that the categories of information that have been created increase constantly, and as they do, data crossing and relationships are established in a way that supports a better understanding of the phenomenon studied. From this research it is possible to extract the opportunity of continuing publishing the progresses.","PeriodicalId":41052,"journal":{"name":"Revista 180","volume":"1 1","pages":"58-73"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2020-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41907570","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"艺术学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fact, for the taxi service, any type of vehicle offered by the market is used and that meets the requirements dictated by the authority, which are reduced to mechanical and driving conditions, but they do not consider habitability or human factors. A case study, Industrial Design considerations are raised, which help to define the characteristics of inclusive habitability and safety of the type of vehicle that could be used as a taxi in Santiago. The research project is proposed in three stages: the first is a state of the art and comfort of the international inclusive taxi system; the second a random selection of the most used taxis in Santiago, according to the Ministry of Transportation, and establishing their physical dimensions; and the third is contrasting the dimensions of the cabin with some international ergonomic recommenda- tions. The main objective of the investigation is “characterize the habitability of taxis for the elaboration of a proposal of design conditions, through formal verification and use”. The main results were the determination of the most influential dimensions that should be considered in the selection of a car for taxi function and the detection of opportunities for the design of products that facilitate accessibility. The concepts of inclusiveness and disability have been extracted from the National Disability Service, Senadis, and focused on people with limited mobility. A finding of the project is the identification of a gap in the Chilean legislation that may give rise to a habitability standard that affects public policy.","PeriodicalId":41052,"journal":{"name":"Revista 180","volume":"1 1","pages":"84-97"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2020-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42561106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"艺术学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to move towards an anthropological definition of the debris, we should ask ourselves, what is the debris after the protests and what place does it inhabit inside the city? What can it tell us and what accounts do these cracked and fissured remains contain, hide and destabilize? Why have they become a field of dispute, a field of forgetfulness, discomfort and fascination? Through the ethnographic and photographic records of post-revolt materialities, the analysis is organized into four dimensions: Skin and patina of the environmental memories; Ambivalence of form and destruction; Ghosts and fetish; Affections and topophilia in dystopia. It is concluded that whatever the ruined artifacts may be, they are always —like the residual materials they are— disorganizing and disconcerting the city, forcing it to reread and rewrite its significant forms. Herein may lie a secret fascination in the debris following the detonation of our city.","PeriodicalId":41052,"journal":{"name":"Revista 180","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-13"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2020-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48123160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"艺术学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Primary sources were consulted through in-depth interviews, analysis of publications, documents of the time and the \"product autopsy\" method. Secondary sources were also used, mainly through bibliographic review. Consequently, it could be established that the Motochi50 was the result of a private entrepreneurship of Chilean engineers, led by Eduardo Alvear, who designed and built the motorcycle to satisfy the demand for a means of personal transportation in Chile during 1972. It was also determined that its mode of productive organization was of a distributed nature, an aspect that was advanced for its time and that today is practiced on a world scale. For its production, the manufacture of parts was outsourced, overseeing their compliance with desing specifications. The parts were manufactured by specialists who had the necessary infrastructure and equipment, being the final process of integration of all parts supervised by Solutec Ltda. The production model used was contrary to the economic-political trend that the prevailing socialist government proclaimed. Such was the development of a private company in a social, political and economic context that was heading towards a crisis of national dimension and that will culminate with the coup d'etat of September 11, 1973. The production of Motochi50 ended after the coup d'etat, when the new government opened the economy to foreign trade and the Motochi project could not continue due to arrival of motorcycles from abroad, like the Japanese ones, with better technology and with a convenient price. The motorcycle was commercialized until 1975, although the factory closed definitively in 1977, a date still to be confirmed.","PeriodicalId":41052,"journal":{"name":"Revista 180","volume":"1 1","pages":"74-83"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2020-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46031025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"艺术学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, Trias argued that the uncanny is the \"condition and limit\" of beauty, but precisely because it is presented to us with a familiar face. From this term, this article reviews a series of essays on the scope of the uncanny in art and architecture, to frame the work within public interventions of the architect Alfredo Jaar. A work that through the freedom that grants art to architecture, it reaches an intermediate state of poetic, political, and ethical and aesthetic connotations. Specifically, this work analyses and interprets The Skoghall Konsthall (2000), a pavilion of wood and paper built in a small community in Sweden, whose purpose was to expose the emptiness of our existence, if there were no art in our lives. With this, and while Jaar distinguishes the character of both arts, we could point out that, through the uncanny, his public interventions reach an architectural antipoetry: a practice that in times of theoretical-formal pluralism and ideological crisis of the discipline, achieves a dislocation of the established order to propose new ways of seeing and thinking about the world.","PeriodicalId":41052,"journal":{"name":"Revista 180","volume":"1 1","pages":"38-47"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2020-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44766113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"艺术学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Within this context, the concept of chronotope has been applied to the analysis of architecture as a connection between space and time through the place. The concept of historical chronotope, a specific type of chronotope, has not been developed in depth. Among space-time architectures, the work of Enric Miralles can be described as an architecture where space and time acquire the same significance, providing an experience of time through the experience of space. Among his works, the Igualada cemetery-park, designed with Carme Pinos, configures a place where space and time are inextricably connected by the shape as a chronotope. Considering the Igualada cemetery-park as a case study, this article recalls the concept of the historical chronotope to the debate on architecture as a practice of space and time. By means of understanding the shape as a trace, the connection between chronic world time and biological human time sets an historical chronotope through the calendar and funerary nature of the place. The analysis of the own words of Miralles shows his willing to build the place as an historical chronotope. Based on the interpretation of the shape as an historical trace, specific features about the concept of the historical chronotope are stated.","PeriodicalId":41052,"journal":{"name":"Revista 180","volume":"1 1","pages":"24-37"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2020-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46480840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"艺术学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
