It assumes that the competitive advantage of a firm depends on its business relationships with various entities. The quality and number of business relationships a firm maintains shape its network position, which influences the firm’s performance. The aim of this paper is to propose a framework for analysing the development of the firm’s position in the business network in the context of the firm’s performance. A literature review method was used in the paper. Based on a literature analysis and the authors’ earlier research, the proposed framework suggests that a firm’s network position changes constantly due to continuous changes in the determinants of its network position and continuous changes in the firm’s behaviour as it develops its network position. In turn, changes in the network position impact the firm’s performance.","PeriodicalId":40977,"journal":{"name":"Gospodarka Narodowa-The Polish Journal of Economics","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2021-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46092903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Artykul przygotowano z wykorzystaniem metody analizy danych zastanych (desk research) oraz wynikow badan ankietowych nad uslugami nowofalowymi przeprowadzonych wśrod firm uslugowych wojewodztwa podlaskiego i Bialorusi. Z badan wynika, ze podlaskie firmy uslugowe są stosunkowo malo otwarte na wspolprace z zagranicą. Wspolpraca z innymi krajami, o ile wystepuje, przybiera malo zroznicowane formy. Tymczasem warunki dla jej rozwoju wydają sie byc korzystne, m.in. z uwagi na relatywnie duzą gotowośc firm bialoruskich do wspolpracy (zwlaszcza w zakresie dostepu do zasobow i tworzenia partnerstw dla świadczenia uslug kompleksowych), postepujące ocieplenie unijno-bialoruskich relacji politycznych czy fundusze unijne przewidziane na rozwoj obszarow transgranicznych. Pomimo rosnącego zainteresowania dalej jest zagadnieniem niedostatecznie przebadanym. Celem pracy jest określenie poziomu świadomości studentow studiow licencjackich Szkoly Glownej Handlowej w zakresie crowdfundingu udzialowego oraz ocena potencjalu rozwoju tego zjawiska. W artykule postawiono dwie hipotezy. W pierwszej zaklada sie, ze im wyzszy rok studiow, tym świadomośc studentow na temat crowdfundingu – w tym crowdfundingu udzialowego – jest wieksza. W drugiej wyzszy rok studiow odpowiadac ma zarowno wzrostowi potencjalnego zainteresowania w przyszlości, jak i deklarowanej kwoty mozliwej do przeznaczenia w kampanii. Do zweryfikowania hipotez wybrano metode kwestionariuszową, poslugując sie narzedziem ankiety. Za punkt odniesienia przyjeto niemieckie badania „Crowdfunding Barometer”. Dodatkowo zdecydowano sie na przeprowadzenie wywiadow poglebionych z wybranymi studentami, by poznac w szczegolności wplyw czynnikow pozaekonomicznych na ksztaltowanie decyzji inwestycyjnych oraz charakter emocji towarzyszący kampaniom udzialowego finansowania spolecznościowego. Praca stanowi początek studiow nad zjawiskiem crowdfundingu, a jej wyniki mogą byc punktem wyjścia do bardziej kompleksowych badan, rowniez w pozostalych grupach spolecznych. Analiza otrzymanych rezultatow sugeruje niepelne zrozumienie pojecia crowdinvestingu. Postuluje sie zatem przeprowadzenie dzialan edukacyjnych, szczegolnie przyblizających obowiązujące regulacje. This paper provides an analysis of the efficiency of public and private Polish universities and examines the impact of selected factors in the years that followed. To estimate this efficiency, a Banker, Charnes and Cooper (BCC) model of the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method was used. To gauge the impact of environmental variables on the efficiency of universities, a truncated regression analysis was performed. The results of the study indicate that public universities were more efficient in terms of the number of graduates they produced but less efficient when considering the level of graduate salaries. The opposite was true for private institutions. The level of efficiency was affected by variables related to specific universities and the socio-economic situation of the region in which they operate. The study analyses the efficiency of educational activities of public and private universities, both in terms of the number of graduates and the quality of education and in the context of the labour market. The analysis also considers the level of graduate earnings.","PeriodicalId":40977,"journal":{"name":"Gospodarka Narodowa-The Polish Journal of Economics","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2020-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48166896","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the study is to provide an insight into what young singles know about the sharing economy and what their key motives are for using the BlaBlaCar platform, the most popular sharing economy venture for passenger transport. In the theoretical part of the text, based on a critical analysis of the literature, the concept and essence of the sharing economy are explained, the BlaBlaCar transport service is characterised as a flagship example of the sharing economy, and an attempt is made to explain the terms “single” and “young single”. The empirical section focuses on the research conceptualisation and a description of the research sample and its characteristics. Subsequently, following the author’s own research, the knowledge of young singles about the sharing economy is analysed, and the most important motives encouraging them to use the BlaBlaCar platform are discussed. The analysis is based on a survey questionnaire administered from May 1 to July 30, 2018 in a sample of 826 young singles who made independent decisions in the market. The survey shows that young singles demonstrated fairly good knowledge of sharing economy ventures and the most popular car sharing websites. However, they are confused about the rich terminology associated with collaborative platforms and often misunderstand the sharing economy, identifying it with the access economy, gift economy or on-demand economy. BlaBlaCar is undoubtedly one of the most popular examples of the practical application of sharing economy fundamentals. The survey reveals that almost three-fifths of respondents use the BlaBlaCar platform. Its active participants are most often men in the 18–23 age group, with a bachelor’s or engineering degree, earning a monthly income not exceeding PLN 3,000, and living in cities with over 500,000 inhabitants.
