Strzelecki","doi":"10.33119/gn/111467","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.33119/gn/111467","url":null,"abstract":"The article presents the results of the decomposition of the changes in the age profiles of percentages of disabled people and labor force participation rates (LFPR) using the age-period-cohort (APC) decomposition. The aim of the analysis is the separation of long-term (cohort-specific) and short-term (period-specific) tendencies to verify hypotheses about the positive impact of the increasing human capital of new cohorts in the population on health and LFPRs. Calculations have been made on quasi-panel data constructed from the Polish Labor Force Survey (PLFS) database for the period 1995–2017. The results show that the improving health of people of pre-retirement age was very loosely connected with the gains in their labor force participation. The lower share of people with disability benefits and the improving LFPRs of disabled people have played a relatively minor role in explaining the change in the total LFPR in the economy as the vast majority of the positive changes in the labor supply were due to changes in the behavior of people without disabilities. ECPs provide tax redemptions as well as lump-sum transfers with the objective to foster old-age savings. Reduction in capital income tax revenues and a rise in expenditure needs to be compensated through adjustment in other taxes. We employ an overlapping generations model (OLG) to gauge the plausible magnitude of the macroeconomic and welfare effects and provide insights in terms of microfoundations of these adjustments. Our OLG model features voluntary participation and innovates relative to the literature by introducing agents with hand-to-mouth preferences. We find relatively high crowding out of private savings. In our preferred specification roughly 0.08 to 0.09 PLN of each 1 PLN allocated to ECPs are actually new savings, the rest being displaced from unincentivized private voluntary savings. The plausible values of the effective capital growth range between 0.03 and 0.42 of 1 PLN in ECPs. ECPs reduce welfare of the fully rational agents, unless they offer a sufficiently large annuity. Zastosowanie alternatywnych podejśc dostarcza nowych informacji na temat procesu produkcyjnego oraz wskazuje na konsekwencje stosowania konkretnych metod w analizach produktywności i efektywności. Średnia ocena unormowanego miernika efektywności (TE) po obiektach i czasie wynosi 0,63 w podejściu SFM, a w ramach DEA jedynie 0,52. Analiza determinant efektywności wskazuje, ze wg DEA najsilniej na zroznicowanie efektywności wplywa powierzchnia uzytkow rolnych, a wg SFM – niekorzystne warunki gospodarowania. Z kolei przy badaniu procesu produkcji gospodarstw okazuje sie, ze najsilniejszy wplyw na produkcje upraw polowych mają materialy, a nastepnie zaangazowanie czynnika pracy (wskazują na to oba wykorzystane podejścia). W odniesieniu do zmian produktywności obie metody wskazują na jej spadek w badanym okresie, jednak z roznych przyczyn. Wyniki uzyskane w ramach SFM wskazują na silny spadek efektywności technicznej nie zrekompensowany postepem technicznym. The first approach is based on the theory of a natural rate of unemployment. Under this theory, the economy can depart from the natural rate of unemployment in the short term due to nominal shocks, but in the long term the economy is expected to achieve an equilibrium indicated by the natural rate of unemployment. The second approach to the dynamics of unemployment is the so-called hysteresis of unemployment theory. According to this theory, all shocks to unemployment will have a permanent effect on the natural rate of unemployment. In a statistical sense, these two theories boil down to testing the unit root. If the unemployment rate is a non-stationary series with a unit root, then the hysteresis-in-unemployment hypothesis has to be accepted. Najwiecej firm eksportuje jeden rodzaj uslug w jednym kierunku. Wzrost wartości polskiego eksportu uslug dokonuje sie glownie przez kontynuowanie związkow juz istniejących ( net intensive margin ).
