The consciousness and duality of a body are revealed: a body simultaneously experiences the other and itself. The article discusses a unity of a physical body and an incarnate consciousness, which reveals itself in certain lifelike situation at each point in time, a sensual perception of which each time provides new knowledge and further opens up the world. The article shows that Merleau-Ponty brought a revolution of sensual perception in philosophy. He revealed that sensual perception consisted of various processes of consciousness associated with memory, imagination, feelings and other areas. It is assumed that the reason of the origin of time is the interaction of a subject with things. Analysis of time is a possibility to access to a concrete structure of subjectivity that represents a subject. Time has a transitional nature of movement through the difference between the past and the future in the present. Methods. The study sample consisted of 400 Klaipeda State University of Applied Sciences students (96.8% female) and 393 The Lithuanian Maritime Academy students (78.9% male), from 18 to 46 years of age. Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used for subjective sleep quality evaluation. Hospital Anxiety and Depression (HAD) scale was used to identify depression and anxiety. PSQI score ≤ 5 was evaluated as good sleep quality; > 5 – poor sleep. HAD score from 0 to 7 was evaluated as no depression or anxiety, score >7 indicated depression and/or anxiety. Results. Lithuanian Maritime Academy students had significantly lower prevalence of poor sleep, as compared to the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, 38.8% vs 61.2%, p<0.001. The students of Lithuanian Maritime Academy had significantly lower anxiety score, as compared to the students of Health Sciences, 7.45 vs 8.63, p<0.001. Anxiety was higher (8.94) among the students older than 22 years, as compared to 18-19 years old ones (7.17), p<0.001, also among third year students (9.17), as compared to the first one (7.25). Conclusions. Health sciences students more frequently, as compared to maritime students, had poor sleep or anxiety. Depression and anxiety scores were higher in female, older and studying third year students. KEYWORDS: poor sleep, anxiety, depression, students, health sciences, maritime. It is essential to promote understanding and appreciation among students and create classrooms, which help foster learners‘ self-esteem and self-motivation. The application of MI theory allows to meeting the needs of different types of learners. Teachers, who understand and use basics of MI theory, can apply human diversity for better teaching. The respondents in this study are students, who study English at Klaipėda University, and their teachers. The findings have been obtained from the online survey completed by the students and the teachers. It contains 56 statements on a 5-point Likert’s scale ranging from (1) to (5). Having completed the survey, respondents received online assessment of their intelligences. The responses of both samples have been compared and processed by a means of the Software Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Pearson’s Correlation Coefficients rho demonstrate strong relationships between the profiles of both samples: their magnitudes are close to 1 and the Significance levels Sig p correspond to probabilities of either 99% or 95%. The obtained data can be extended beyond the researched samples despite their small size. KEY WORDS: multiple intelligences, profiles, assessment of learning strengths, overlapping of scores. The phenomenon of creativity has been analyzed as the process and result of the creativity, a personal quality and a thinking skill during the most recent decades. Such variety of the attitudes towards creativity is typical to the pre-school education process as well. In order to recognize creativity in the early educational environment, it is necessary to have a broad and democratic conception in accordance with which each child has creative potential which must be developed by focusing more on the process and less on the assessment of the quality of the products. On the basis of the research outcomes, the article discloses the characteristics of preschool children's creative expression. The summary of empiric research proves that identifying the traits of creative child, the educators primarily emphasized their personal traits: self-confidence, imagination, self-dependence, and independence, versatile interests, artistic inclinations, and the ability to generate ideas and to implement them. Among other important traits, the educators named original thinking, flexibility, the ability to promptly respond to creative impulses and to find unconventional ways of problem solution. However, research on education for health society is of bursty nature. The phenomenon of burstiness is of particular research interest as it influences the flow of a number of processes including research and the quality of society’s life in general. Research question : What are indicators of burstiness in research? Approach: Interdisciplinary research was applied to the study of the meaning of the key concepts of burstiness, criteria, indicators and research . Moreover, the analysis demonstrates how the key concepts are related to the idea of education for health society and shows how the steps of the process are related following a logical chain: theoretical framework → empirical study → conclusions. Experiment: Qualitative study was applied for empirical analysis. The empirical study was carried out in February 2016. Conclusion: The theoretical findings on the inter-relationship between burstiness and gap processes allow determining the indicators of burstiness of research. The empirical findings of the research allow drawing the conclusions on a high level of research burstiness. A newly formulated research question is presented. Further research directions are proposed. KEY WORDS: Research, burstiness, criteria, indicators, interdisciplinary research. In the medical sense, the term is associated with health. In Kazakhstan, as in many other countries is happening a process of increasing of the part of population in retirement age. The objective of this study was to assess the QoL of retired population in Kazakhstan. Current data acquisition was realized by questionnaire respondents by SF-36 questionnaire. The survey covered 203 respondents. The study population was formulated by the method of random selection. Statistical analysis of data was performed using methods of variation statistics. All indicators of scales SF-36 were above average. General indicators: physical (PH) and mental (MH) well-being were assessed as not large less than average (42.6/43.2). The male population of the retirement age had better scores on all eight SF-36 scales compared to the female population. Indicators of QoL of working population were assessed higher than indicators of nonworking population. Also, it was found that presence of job positively influences to the QoL of retired population. The skills of collaboration are acquired only during a group work. The field of sports is rich in a potential of group collaboration elements. It is presumed that in a process of development of collaboration skills a tight interaction, positive interdependence should be achieved, skills of joint work developed, direct communication, ability to reflect as well as personal responsibility should he promoted. The aim of the research is to analyze and assess the cooperation skills of students, participating in an international Erasmus IP project by applying the tourism and sports animation program. The following research methods were applied: analysis of scientific literature, semi-structured interview, development project (Erasmus Intensive Program’s (IP) Project “Sport for tourist animation at a seaside resort”, and qualitative data analysis. The research was conducted during the month of January of 2013, using the Skype program. The semi-structured interview had 6 students. Research results revealed that a favorable environment for cooperative learning was ensured: a positive psychological climate was established which allowed the project participants to develop skills of self-expression (self-confidence, self-esteem, creativity). Students were able to feel psychologically safe, shared their experience, were attentive and friendly, supported, and encouraged each other. They were united by a sense of unity and a common goal. Team based and individual collaboration skills of students were developed throughout all of the tourism and sport related activities. The following skills of students, participating in the Erasmus IP project, were developed: ability to express and accept a verbal and physical emotional support; cooperative learning, listening to others and expression of own ideas; play assigned role; pursue a common goal; be a leader, supervise, organize; actively participate, when activities are organized by others; rate the activities in consideration of their efficiency and values. Results gathered from the interview responses highlighted a specific factor in regards to development of the collaboration skill – a sense of national pride and responsibility for own country and university had influence on students’ sense of responsibility. The purpose of the article - to reveal teachers' competence as a factor, ensuring the prevention of bullying among peers at school. The results of qualitative research, which reflects the teachers' attitude to their competence to deal with cases of bullying among peers at school, are presented in the article. The results of qualitative research reveal the attitudes of social pedagogues and class masters towards teachers' ability to carry out the prevention of bullying at school.
