Some of these functions can be effectively used in an emergency situation, such as a sound recording function for collecting evidence and a calling function for summoning help. However, touch-based operations characteristic of smartphones, which have no physical buttons, can sometimes be difficult. Operations using speech recognition are also possible, but sending out an SOS without another person noticing is difficult with this method. Thus, regardless of how convenient a smartphone function may be, using it in an emergency may be difficult. In this study, we propose an emergency application for smartphones based on rhythm pattern recognition. This approach enables operations to be performed without having to look at the screen, which means smartphone operations that can be used when the user does not want another person to notice or wants to keep another person's movements in view. This application is equipped with three functions: a remote SOS function for sending out an SOS to a person located elsewhere, an evidence recording function that records evidence by audio or video means, and a local SOS function that summons help from nearby people while intimidating the person posing a threat. In an experiment performed to evaluate this application, 70% of the subjects were able to input two rhythm patterns while carrying on a conversation without the other person noticing.","PeriodicalId":406787,"journal":{"name":"Adjunct Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing Networking and Services","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128095665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With these devices, indoor positioning techniques have been extensively researched. However, the positioning precision, using a single Wi-Fi or BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) device, is usually limited to several meters. To improve positioning precision, we propose an approach of fingerprinting using multiple wearable BLE devices. In the initial experiments, we noticed that body obstruction leads to different signal strengths when a person with a wearable device turns around. On this basis, we further build directional maps for fingerprinting and study the potential combination of multiple devices in positioning. The experimental results in two indoor scenarios confirm that using multiple devices and directional maps help to greatly improve positioning precision to the decimeter level (more specifically 0.07m). The impact of BLE beacon density is also investigated.","PeriodicalId":406787,"journal":{"name":"Adjunct Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing Networking and Services","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131168603","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Table lookups in packet processing are known as a bottleneck of the router from the points of both processing performance and power consumption. Packet Processing Cache (PPC), which accelerates the table lookups and reduces the power consumption of them by using cache mechanism, was proposed. However, it is difficult for PPC to obtain high cache hit rate because the size of PPC should be small, such as a L1 cache of processors, to get higher access speed. For this reason, an effective line replacement algorithm was considered in this study for reducing a cache miss without increasing the cache size. First, defects of applying typical line replacement algorithms to PPC were examined. Secondly, two algorithms, LRU Insertion Policy (LIP) and Elevator Cache (ELC), and improved algorithms of LIP and ELC called LIP1, LIP2, ELC1, and ELC2 were considered for improving the above defects. In simulation, it was shown Elevator Cache could reduce the cache miss by at most 17.4% compared with Least Recently Used, which applied to many cache systems.","PeriodicalId":406787,"journal":{"name":"Adjunct Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing Networking and Services","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116432462","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are some problems with existing methods such as PDR, ultrasound and laser range finder: installation location of measurement equipment at large site, cost for measurement equipment, and necessity of smartphone application. We focus on Bluetooth Low Energy(BLE). Currently, BLE technology is used as proximity notification for smartphones and cannot detect the exact distance between two BLE devices. This is because BLE radiowave is unstable and signal strength changes every time at the same distance. In this paper, we propose a location estimation method which utilizes BLE beacon tags and single board computers. In contrast to conventional ways using location-fixed BLE beacons, BLE beacon tags are distributed to participants at the event. Signal strengths of BLE advertising packets captured by multiple location-fixed scanners are used for location estimation. The method requires less cost for equipment and labor of installing an application. It can be used without complex initial setting. We had a data collection experiment at real large-scale exhibition. We estimate locations of participants by applying the proposed method to the collected data, then evaluate accuracy of estimation and analyse the activities such as the time of longer stay booths based on participants' occupation. As a result, we could track the movement of the participants to some meters error and find the characteristic booths based on longer-stay booths per occupations.","PeriodicalId":406787,"journal":{"name":"Adjunct Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing Networking and Services","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130895725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since Caffe2C generates a single C code which includes everything needed to execute the trained CNN, csCaffe2C makes it easy to run CNN-based applications on any kinds of mobile devices and embedding devices without GPUs. Moreover, Caffe2C achieves faster execution speed compared to the existing Caffe for iOS/Android and the OpenCV iOS/Android DNN class. The reasons are as follows: (1) directly converting of trained CNN models to C codes, (2) efficient use of NEON/BLAS with multithreading, and (3) performing pre-computation as much as possible in the computation of CNNs. In addition, in this paper, we demonstrate the availability of Caffe2C by showing four kinds of CNN-base object recognition mobile applications.","PeriodicalId":406787,"journal":{"name":"Adjunct Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing Networking and Services","volume":"455 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123018731","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

MAT (Mobility support Architecture and Technologies) which has been developed by the authors, also requires the similar modification. The modification of the protocol stack of the terminals has the difficulty for wide spread of IP mobility function using the seamless handoff. In order to solve this problem, we propose a user-space implementation of MAT in this paper. Also, we show some evaluations on overhead caused by user-space implementation and discuss them from the view point of practical use.","PeriodicalId":406787,"journal":{"name":"Adjunct Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing Networking and Services","volume":"42 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114116160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These products range from industry to consumer products; in fact, a virtual majority of products is expected to become IoT devices in the near future. However, because the information given by these IoT devices is only used by their owners, the term \"intranet of things\" appears to be more appropriate. For IoT to truly become the Fourth Industrial Revolution, this closed intranet-based architecture has to be changed to an internet-based architecture. EverySense is a new concept IoT market platform that provides end-to-end IoT to improve the business scene of ICT [1]. The EverySense market platform provides a matching mechanism between data provider and data collector with device-independent interoperability. A sharing economy mechanism with high privacy protection is also provided. This paper describes the architecture and concept underlying EverySense and introduces its actual business model.","PeriodicalId":406787,"journal":{"name":"Adjunct Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing Networking and Services","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121372943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each intermediate wireless node forwards data messages to its next-hop wireless node. Here, a wireless signal carrying the data message is broadcasted by using an omni antenna and it is not difficult for a eavesdropper wireless node to overhear the wireless signal to get the data message. Some researches show that it is useful to transmit noise wireless signal which collide to the data message wireless signal in order for interfering the overhearing. However, some special devices such as directional antennas and/or high computation power for complicated signal processing are required. For wireless multihop networks with huge number of wireless nodes, small and cheap wireless nodes are mandatory for construction of the network. This paper proposes the method for interfering the overhearing by the eavesdropper wireless nodes where routing protocol and data message transmission protocol with cooperative noise signal transmissions by 1-hop and 2-hop neighbor wireless nodes of each intermediate wireless node.","PeriodicalId":406787,"journal":{"name":"Adjunct Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Computing Networking and Services","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131917660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Paved road has been painted compartment line to separate many vehicles and driver-pedestrian. Compartment line is important for drivers and pedestrians because they can recognize for they are aware of the width of the roadway and the sidewalk by the compartment line. Therefore, municipality should inspect the ongoing compartment line but they are inspected by people so the burden for road management is big. The purpose of this research would be to automatically detect the damage of the compartment line. The image obtained from cameras, applying random forest. In this experiment, we used more than about 50,000 of images by capturing a Walking camera and a vehicle-mounted camera.
