Unlike other encoding schemes which achieve a system code rate of only 1/4 when half of the subcarriers are active, the proposed scheme achieves a system code rate of 1/2. The LDPC code is used to enhance the data transmission rate. A binary erasure channel (BEC) concatenated with an uncorrelated fading channel and AWGN channel model is adopted for NC-OFDM CR. Moreover, the adopted channel model is employed with density evolution algorithm to obtain good degree distribution pairs for the LDPC code. Thereafter, a modified shortest-path (MSP) algorithm is used to construct the parity-check matrix for the LDPC code. Simulations results show that the proposed LDPC code performs well in terms of both error rate and data transmission rate.","PeriodicalId":405465,"journal":{"name":"2013 23rd International Conference on Computer Theory and Applications (ICCTA)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114157729","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

IETF developed IPv6 the new upgraded version from IPv4 to provide the continual increase of the IP address needs over the Internet. As the transition from IPv4 to IPv6 all over the Internet is slow, their coexistence is a must. 6to4 is used to transmit native IPv6 packets over IPv4 networks. Meanwhile, VoIP is also gaining momentum and expected to occupy considerable percentage of Internet traffic. In this paper, we measure the VoIP performance over 6to4 versus conventional IPv4 and IPv6 networks. The measurements are collected out of probing a single call in presence of HTTP, FTP or Voice traffic in the network background. Quality of Service elements as jitter, network delay, and throughput and packet loss percentage are measured. Also the call user satisfaction is assessed by Mean Opinion Score.","PeriodicalId":405465,"journal":{"name":"2013 23rd International Conference on Computer Theory and Applications (ICCTA)","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123928210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This mechanism helps in improving the learning process to obtain better results. The adaptive mechanism is based on an advanced student modeling approach which identifies learning styles as a way to predict students’ learning style from their past behavior that make learning easier for students and increase their learning progress. Datamining is really a multidisciplinary area focusing on methodologies for extracting valuable knowledge coming from students log files and there are many useful datamining methods to extract data. This knowledge can be used to increase the caliber of education and can be employed for selection making in educational process. It is applied on student’s previous performance data to generate the model that can be used to predict the student’s learning style to improve their performance. In this work a comparative study among nine different datamining techniques of classification in order to determine the best classifier to be used in predicting students learning style from their past behavior.","PeriodicalId":405465,"journal":{"name":"2013 23rd International Conference on Computer Theory and Applications (ICCTA)","volume":"273 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115955262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An important and novel aspect of this approach is that the proposed fuzzy classification method does not require a training set, which is in contrast to the traditional statistical and probabilistic methods that require a set of pre-classified documents in order to train the classifier. Ontology is used as semantic knowledge representation for concept mapping and synonym extraction. The proposed approach is divided into three phases; Intelligent Pre-processing, Fuzzy Membership Calculation for the overall issue and finally Issue classification. Intelligent pre-processing is a new technique that does not blindly remove all stop words like traditional techniques but uses a concept tokenization rather than keyword tokenization. A set of ontologies were constructed for each domain of discourse for the Issue Tracking System (ITS) database. These ontologies are used to identify concepts and their relations for each domain that is appeared in the issue being processed. A Semantic Issue Tracking System - SIST - has been developed for applying this approach. The issue may be classified to more than one team with a degree of relevance depending on its semantic. Experiments show significant enhancement in issue classification over traditional Issue Tracking Systems.","PeriodicalId":405465,"journal":{"name":"2013 23rd International Conference on Computer Theory and Applications (ICCTA)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129977873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In our research, we propose to use educational data mining techniques to discover hidden knowledge from the available educational data. An \"Intelligent Student Advisory Framework\" is proposed that uses classification and clustering techniques. This system can be used to guide the first year university students to the more suitable educational track. The classification phase will predict the department which is most likely to be chosen by student and the clustering phase will recommend departments to student by showing his expected rate of success for each department, this recommendation is aiming to decrease the high rate of academic failure for first year students. This enhancement is achieved by training a new \"Arabic online engine translation\" to \"Arabic manual translation\" model that corrects common errors in the online translation. This paper focuses on two popular online translation engines which are Google and Bing. The translation enhancement is done in two steps. First step is training the translation of each online engine on Moses toolkit separately to generate translation model that corrects the output of online translation engine, the result of this step is corrected Google translation and corrected Bing translation which is better than the original translation. Second step is choosing one sentence from the two corrected sentence using a language model trained on the manual Arabic translation which gives more enhancement than step 1.Two metrics are used to evaluate proposed model enhancement, BLEU Score (Bilingual Evaluation Understudy) and NIST Score (National Institute of Standards and Technology). The proposed model has obtained 32.44% BLEU Score over Google and 40.91% BLEU Score over Bing for LDC2004T14 dataset, 18.08% BLEU Score over Google and 26.55% BLEU Score over Bing for Distinct LDC2004T14 dataset, and 10.69% BLEU Score over Google and 9.94% BLEU Score over Bing for MEDAR dataset.","PeriodicalId":405465,"journal":{"name":"2013 23rd International Conference on Computer Theory and Applications (ICCTA)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130140435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
