Abstract

The tremendous advances in micro-technology and wireless communications has allowed a new generation of networks to emerge: Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). While much effort is devoted to the development of several facets in WSN, QoS Support remains one of the least explored areas in this domain. In this paper, we present QoS support in WSN while highlighting the QoS mapping issue, a complex process in which QoS parameters are translated from level to level and we present a case study of a TDMA tree-based clustered WSN, where QoS requirements at the User level are mapped to delay at the Network level.
