Deep Learning techniques have proven superior to conventional techniques for emotion recognition due to advantages such as speed and scalability and infinitely versatile operation. However, since emotions are subjective, there is no universal agreement on evaluating or categorizing them. The main objective of this paper is to design a suitable model of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) – Stride-based Convolutional Neural Network (SCNN) by taking a smaller number of convolutional layers and eliminate the pooling-layers to increase computational stability. This elimination tends to increase the accuracy and decrease the computational time of the SER system. Instead of pooling layers, deep strides have been used for the necessary dimension reduction. SCNN is trained on spectrograms generated from the speech signals of two different databases, Berlin (Emo-DB) and IITKGP-SEHSC. Four emotions, angry, happy, neutral, and sad, have been considered for the evaluation process, and a validation accuracy of 90.67% and 91.33% is achieved for Emo-DB and IITKGPSEHSC, respectively. This study provides new benchmarks for both datasets, demonstrating the feasibility and relevance of the presented SER technique.","PeriodicalId":404811,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 7th International Conference on Smart Instrumentation, Measurement and Applications (ICSIMA)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124191930","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ICU ventilator system is one of the breathing apparatus that works invasively where its use is by inserting a breathing apparatus through the patient’s mouth or nose. The fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2) is one of the variables that must be regulated in an ICU ventilator system because it affects the level of oxygen that enters the human body. Mixing of air and oxygen gas is done automatically using PID control which is applied to the proportional flow control valve of air and oxygen. This paper discusses the control of PID-based Fraction of inspired oxygen implanted in the ICU Ventilator. Adjusting the ratio of airflow and oxygen mixed in the mixing tank will produce airflow with the desired fraction of inspired oxygen. Teensy 4.0 Microcontroller and the C programming language are used to execute the PID control algorithm. In this study, the best Kp, Ki, and Kd values were determined using the PID Tuner, for the air proportional flow setpoint and oxygen proportional flow setpoints of 30, 60, and 100 LPM, respectively. These values are able to produce precise and accurate control of the FiO2 according to the desired setpoint on the ICU Ventilator. The results of the FiO2 test obtained an average value for rise time of 13478 ms, overshoot of 0.11%, settling time of 19803 ms, and steady-state error of 1.15%. Meanwhile, the results of the inspiratory flow test obtained an average value for a rise time of 964 ms, an overshoot of 5.43%, a settling time of 4697 ms, and a steady-state error of 0.98%.","PeriodicalId":404811,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 7th International Conference on Smart Instrumentation, Measurement and Applications (ICSIMA)","volume":"210 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122621018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was designed to test the Quality of Service (QoS) parameters at the concourse level of 60 Skytrain stations in Bangkok, Thailand. By conducting the stationary tests with one major 5G network operator in the Thai market using these three applications, 180 records of data per application were collected. The results of download and upload speeds and latency were focused. The results from different applications reveal that the average values of speed and latency from each application are not the same. The download speeds obtained from Speedtest, OpenSignal and nPerf are 403.5 Mbpas, 326.4 Mbps and 291.6 Mbps respectively, while the upload speeds obtained from those applications are 97.2 Mbps, 83.4 Mbps and 183.9 Mbps respectively. Analysis using ANOVA and t-test was also conducted. This analysis shows significant differences among the download and upload speeds and latencies from these three applications, with p-values of less than 0.05. It can be concluded that QoS parameters measured by different applications tend to be different. Therefore, the average QoS results should be the average results from at least three applications for fairness and reliability.","PeriodicalId":404811,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 7th International Conference on Smart Instrumentation, Measurement and Applications (ICSIMA)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132047103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Naturally, the electrical power transmission system protection scheme contains two major parts, such as external protection scheme and internal protection scheme. The external scheme consists of basic physical protection systems like open circuit, short circuit, and over voltage protection scheme. In contrast, the internal system includes symmetrical faults and unsymmetrical faults. In this research paper, the external protection system is described. Moreover, the earthquake protection system and temperature protection system are introduced additionally in this development scheme. These additional features provide extra protection in the power transmission grid system against earthquake and fire incidents. The `Internet of Things’ (IoT) is introduced here to digitize the electrical transmission grid technology. With this, the data acquisition will become faster and it will build reliability between the user and supplier.","PeriodicalId":404811,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 7th International Conference on Smart Instrumentation, Measurement and Applications (ICSIMA)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115291467","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, there is a growing interest in using voice in the gaming industry. Voice-controlled interaction made gaming much more accessible to a wider audience. However, the use of voice to control games requires real-time processing to avoid unwanted delay. This paper proposes speech command recognition using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to control the popular snake game. First, the limited dataset for Up, Down, Left, Right speech commands was prepared for training, validation, and testing. Second, an optimum MFCC and CNN-based speech command recognition were proposed to recognize the four speech command. Results showed that our proposed algorithm could achieve high recognition accuracy of 96.5% and was able to detect all four commands. Finally, the proposed algorithm is integrated with a Python-based snake game.","PeriodicalId":404811,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 7th International Conference on Smart Instrumentation, Measurement and Applications (ICSIMA)","volume":"199 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116625613","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

SPC codes are selected in this paper to keep high coding rate for transmissions of, for example, multimedia transmissions, where reliability should be kept high. In this paper, to improve the error correction capability, we introduce a new variable $chi$ to exploit the source statistic in the decoding process by taking the log-likelihood ratio (LLR) of the occurrence probability of 0\" and 1\" of the compressed data. To verify effectiveness of the proposed modified SPC codes, we use a practical compressed data of Indonesian text being compressed with Huffman codes and also introduce extreme dummy sources having extreme inequality of appearance probability of ”0” and ”1” such that the performances with different $chi$ values are observable. We evaluate the performance of the proposed modification on the SPC codes in terms of bit-error-rate (BER) under additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN), block Rayleigh fading, and fast Rayleigh fading channels using a series of computer simulations. The results show that the proposed modified SPC codes provide better BER performance under all channel models, where the improvement is higher if the $chi$ value increases. The results are expected to contribute to the development of compressed data transmissions having high reliability.","PeriodicalId":404811,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 7th International Conference on Smart Instrumentation, Measurement and Applications (ICSIMA)","volume":"342 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123186270","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many industries have taken advantage of this technique for reverse engineering in industrial quality inspection, biomechanical image, and archaeological documentation by utilizing different software, either commercial or open-source ones for the 3D reconstruction process. This paper compares only the performance of free photogrammetry software as a research effort to find the alternative and affordable tools to easily generate 3D solid model without using any costly 3D scanning and reconstructing technologies. Three open-source code tools for close-range photogrammetry of a human foot model were employed in this comparative study. In addition, the computational requirements are also taken into account for the viability of its photogrammetry process, the performance is also evaluated based on the realism of the generated 3D model. The comparison results of the tools discussed, such as those with more optimum model quality and shorter processing times due to the good quality of the generated 3D morphology shape are Agisoft Metashape and the total time 20 minutes. The accuracy in this study is range of 97.08 to 98.70%. These 3D models will be very useful in the field of medical rehabilitation to diagnose the morphology and foot posture in term of improving the posture of the child’s feet since early treatment.","PeriodicalId":404811,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 7th International Conference on Smart Instrumentation, Measurement and Applications (ICSIMA)","volume":"10 5 Pt 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116885982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
