Naturally, the electrical power transmission system protection scheme contains two major parts, such as external protection scheme and internal protection scheme. The external scheme consists of basic physical protection systems like open circuit, short circuit, and over voltage protection scheme. In contrast, the internal system includes symmetrical faults and unsymmetrical faults. In this research paper, the external protection system is described. Moreover, the earthquake protection system and temperature protection system are introduced additionally in this development scheme. These additional features provide extra protection in the power transmission grid system against earthquake and fire incidents. The `Internet of Things’ (IoT) is introduced here to digitize the electrical transmission grid technology.
