The performance of LoRa can be affected by environmental factors that was witnessed in recent research trends. Other geological factors like terrain types may also have an impact on the link performance. Hence, this paper highlights the geological factors that affect LoRa performance in hilly area propagation for smart city applications. In addition, an experiment was carried out using 915MHz frequency in the hilly suburban region of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to investigate the performance of LoRa utilizing different spreading factors (SF7, SF8, SF10, SF12) and putting the receiver in various altitude scenarios. The RSSI and packet receive ratio (PRR) were used to determine the coverage and performance analysis in hilly suburban area. The outcome of this study shows that the LoRa signal propagation is affected by the hilly terrain scenarios. Because of the hilly region, the coverage could be as limited as 1.25Km and the packet receive ratio was reduced by 65%. One everyday use case is recording attendance at an enterprise. However, the existing attendance system still poses some risks. One of the biggest causes is when the smart card used does not have a good quality guarantee and does not use an official Indonesian identity card, namely e-KTP. This issue causes the wasteful use of smart cards. In addition, this is not under the Law of the Republic of Indonesia. Therefore, this research focuses on utilizing the e-KTP as an authentication factor in recording attendance. In addition, this study uses two methods: survey methods and theoretical methods. As a result, the proposed mechanism system has fewer steps than the current enterprise’s (2 out of 3). With the e-KTP, the conclusion obtained indicate that the proposed mechanism has successfully mitigated all technical existing risks (R2, R4, and R5). User Agreement Testing also shows the same results, participant’s perspectives of R1 and R3 scenarios more feel comfortable with e-KTP as the proposed ID cards in their enterprise. Advanced systems for collision detection and new avoidance safety system are terms which one would expect to see together. The proposed method prevents vehicle collision in a forward collision and straight road. Furthermore, the proposed system can generate a collision warning alarm when a car meets an emergency event, and during that time, drivers should take appropriate action. The proposed system used ultrasonic sensors as ranging components to get the nearby distance of the host car. Next, this system also used GPS to provide the geographical position and speed of the host car precisely. From the speed data, acceleration can be calculated. Thus, from all of these inputs data, the braking distance can be determined. If the following distance was lesser than the braking distance, a warning system was issued, or assisted braking was performed. Experimental results showed that the system works well on a pedestrian walkway with a soft surface compared to a paved road with a rough surface. Feature extraction and matching algorithms are used in many computer vision problems, including object recognition and structure from motion. Each feature detector and descriptor algorithm’s computational efficiency and robust performance have a major impact on image matching precision and time utilization. The performance of image matching algorithms that use expensive descriptors for detection and matching is addressed using existing approaches. The algorithm’s efficiency is measured by the number of matches found and the number of faults discovered when evaluated against a given pair of images. It also depends on the algorithm that detects the features and matches them in less amount of time. This paper examines and compares the different algorithm (SURF, ORB, BRISK, FAST, KAZE, MINEIGEN, MSER) performances using distinct parameters such as affine transformation, blur, scale, illumination, and rotation. The Oxford dataset is used to assess their robustness and efficiency against the parameters of interest. The time taken to detect features, the time taken to match images, the number of identified feature points, and the total running time is recorded in this study. The quantitative results show that the ORB and SURF algorithms detect and match more features than other algorithms. Furthermore, they are computationally less expensive and robust compared to other algorithms. In addition, the robustness of ORB and SURF is quite high in terms of outliers, and the amount of time taken to match with the reference is also significantly less. However, the efficiency of SURF reduces against blur transformation. FAST is good in detecting corners but lacks efficiency under different transformations. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is an alternative fuel, which is used primarily as a fuel in most spark-ignited internal combustion engines. Therefore, the incidence of leakage in gas cylinders needs to be considered, in order to avoid fire, poisoning, and even death to those around it. Olfactory mobile robot can be used to detect gas content. Thus, the source of the gas leak in the industry and in the storage area for LPG gas cylinders can be identified. This paper emphasizes on robot navigation by using Machine Vision System (MVS) to speed up the process of finding the exact location of the gas leak source. Several tests were carried out on several aspects. The test results on the motor drivers show that the robot can move well. While the MVS testing shows that the programming algorithm for image processing is able to recognize track borders. Then, the results on gas sensors testing show that the robot can find the source of the gas leak and can adjust it to the required robot speed. We introduce a new variable taking the ratio of probability of ”0” and ”1” appearance of the compressed source, which is usually omitted by assuming that the source has equiprobable occurence of ”0” and ”1”. However, in this paper we observe that the omitting of the statistic of the source is inappropriate for compressed data. We use both practical compressed source of Indonesian text and artificial text having an extreme appearance probability ”0” and ”1” as the baseline compression. This new variable is expected to improve the error capability once the source statistic is known and do not change during the transmissions. We evaluate the performances of the proposed decoding in terms of bit-error-rate (BER) performances under the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN), block Rayleigh fading, and fast Rayleigh fading channels using a series of computer simulations. The results show that the proposed modified Repetition codes provide better BER performances under all channel models, where the improvement is linear to value. The test results are the highest scores that become a reference for PTNs and the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education sets the SBMPTN quota of 40% in each department. This is a big competition for participants to graduate in the desired major. As well as the obstacles faced by participants in the form of not knowing whether the results of the UTBK scores obtained were feasible or not at PTN. The method used in this study is Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), where the calculation provides certain weighting criteria so that each total weight value and result will be a recommendation for SBMPTN participants at SMAN 2 West Sumatra. The data used is divided into 2 groups, namely the IPA and Soshum group data. So that the recommended results are feasible in this study from the science and technology test group as many as 23 participants because they got a total average score of >0.80 and Soshum as many as 7 participants. The data of participants in the study were 40 students, the total recommended eligibility for the SBMPTN pathway was 30 participants and the results of comparison with the actual data contained 2 data processing results that had differences. So it can be explained that there are 38 participants from 40 test data who have the same decision, between the decisions made by the system and the decisions of the SBMPTN selection party, which is 95%. The government has spent millions of monies on flood mitigation plans. Several systems had been proposed which some of them have been employed around the country. However, it is limited to selected areas due to high installation and maintenance costs. This paper investigates two potential real-time flood monitoring frameworks in the sub-urban area, which are simpler, inexpensive, and require minimum maintenance. The proposed flood monitoring system utilized wireless data transmission system that is either GSM SIM900A module or XBee Pro module. The data was sent to NodeREd for monitoring purposes. From the result, XBee Pro can send more, and faster data as compared to GSM module. The time delay is very much lower for XBee Pro whereby the difference of real-time data captured as compared to the setup time interval that had been set in the system. In terms of consistency and sensitivity, both systems have equal efficacy. In Summary, both systems are adequate to offer monitoring and immediate warning in real-time. However, XBee pro is preferable if the area has internet access. Such objects oscillate with an amplitude higher than those under non-resonant conditions. Similarly, when they find other fishing objects in their vicinity, objects oscillating at their natural frequencies create a unique set of complex signals that may be used for fishing objects’ specific features. Depending on the size, shape, material composition, and orientation, such complex signals constitute a kind of signature RF that may be used to detect and track the given object. When turned ON (or OFF), electrical equipment items create unique frequency components that may be used similar to fingerprinting to detect this equipment under malfunction or normal function conditions. Large-scale systems such as the emerging hybridized electrical grids generate complex signals under sometimes malicious control commands. Such complex signals may be analyzed to be recognized as a unique set of frequency components. This significant problem worsens, especially during peak hours and on weekends. Therefore, developing a car parking management system will assist drivers in finding a suitable parking place for their vehicles. This project aims to develop a model of an Internet of Things-based Car Parking Management System. By its rapid development and growth, the Internet of Things (IoT) has improved people’s lives and various aspects of society. By installing a sensor node on each parking space, the car parking management system can monitor the state of each slot using IoT. Thus, the sensor detects the parking slot’s status and sends it to the central node server controller. The NodeMCU collects data from all sensor nodes and uploads it to the server, where the user would check the parking status from anywhere using the IoTGecko Platform. Hence, the system makes it simple for users to look for available parking places.
