This is evident in many instances such as Education, International trade, Manufacturing, Healthcare delivery, etc. where digital technologies have boosted growth, expanded opportunities, and improved service delivery. As interesting as it may sound the digital dividend, that is, the broader development benefits from using such technologies have lagged behind when considering their aggregate impact which is adjudged to fall shorts well as its unevenly distribution especially in developing countries. It is believed that for these technologies to benefit access to education, research and development regardless of location, the remaining digital divide, especially in internet access should be greatly reduced or even eliminated. This paper proposes a point to multipoint controlled internet provisioning model based on WIMAX technology particularly aimed at achieving an even distribution of reliable internet access across tertiary Institutions in Edo state of Nigeria.","PeriodicalId":404791,"journal":{"name":"EngRN: Communication System (Topic)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129993445","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Smart devices such as Smart home automation entry point, smart air conditioners, Smart hubs, Smart thermostat, Color changing smart LEDs, Smart Mobiles, Smart Watches and smart Tablets etc. are ubiquitous in our daily life and becoming valuable device with the capabilities of wireless networking using different wireless protocols that are typically used with an IEEE 802.11 access point. MANETs provide connectivity in heterogeneous network with decentralized approach. MANET is formed by itself when two or more smart devices has active connection. The fuzzy logic control system is a novel approach that is utilized in various area of research because of the performance ability to control the system. The proposed research is focused mainly to design a fuzzy logic control mobility framework for evaluating mobility models in MANET of smart devices in internet of things environment. To implement this research we developed a new fuzzy control based mobility framework for communication in MANET of smart devices. Smart devices are considered as mobility nodes in MANET network system. The related work shows various mobility models to reproduction the movements of nodes but unfortunately most of them are not working in reality. The proposed mobility framework is tested on simulation environment and results perform the better evaluation of mobility models in MANET. This research may be useful in the development of internet of things framework, where smart devices are connected to each other in real time.","PeriodicalId":404791,"journal":{"name":"EngRN: Communication System (Topic)","volume":"294 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132270166","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using the accelerometer and gyroscope typically found in modern smartphones, a system that uses the proposed method is able to recognize low level activities, including athletic exercises, with high accuracy. A Hebbian learning preprocessing stage is used to render accelerometer and gyroscope signals independent to the orientation of the smartphone inside the user’s pocket. After preprocessing, a selected set of features are obtained and used for classification by a k-nearest neighbor or a multilayer perceptron. The trained algorithm achieves an accuracy of 95.3 percent when using the multilayer perceptron and tested on unknown users who are asked to perform the exercises after placing the mobile device in their pocket without any constraints on the orientation. Comparison of performance with respect to other popular methods is provided.","PeriodicalId":404791,"journal":{"name":"EngRN: Communication System (Topic)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121336183","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Method of Moments (MoM) based mentor graphics IE3D electromagnetic solver has been used for this design. Dual band operation has been obtained by modifying the ground plane of the proposed design with spur-slots. It has been fabricated and tested with the overall size of 21x15x1.6 mm3 . The measured results indicate that the proposed antenna yields <-10dB impedance bandwidth of 13.13% and 9.86% which meets the requirement of 3.5GHz and 5.5GHz Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and World Wide Interoperability Microwave Access (WiMAX) applications. The approximate lumped equivalent circuit extraction for the proposed DGS fed dual band antenna has been discussed in detail. Because of its stable radiation patterns with low cross polarization,miniature size, high average antenna gain of 2.5dBi and good electromagnetic characteristics, the proposed antenna is a promising candidate for dual mode wireless communication devices.","PeriodicalId":404791,"journal":{"name":"EngRN: Communication System (Topic)","volume":"106 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117293243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The unmanned surveillance application employed many agents for unmanned service. These agents cover a wide area for security and communicate with a control system. Therefore, the control system is able to check the status of agents and send/receive data by using multiple networks. In addition, it is necessary to provide an interface for mission commands to agents. The interface must facilitate for users to monitor and assign a task required of all agents. In this paper, we propose a design of multiple networks based control system to implement in wide surveillance areas. However, realizing faster warming rate in low concentration cryoprotective agents appears to be challenging for conventional warming process via convective heat transfer. Here a liquid metal nanosystem which can act as a spatial source to significantly enhance the warming rates with near-infrared laser irradiation during warming process is developed. It demonstrates that the synthetic Pluronic F127-liquid metal nanoparticles (PLM NPs) displayed multiple performances with uniform particle size, superior photothermal conversion efficiency (52%), repeatable photothermal stability, and low cytotoxicity. Specifically, liquid PLM NPs with less surface free energy are more difficult to form crystal nucleation compared with other solid NPs such as gold and Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>, which is beneficial for the cooling process during cryopreservation. The viability of human bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells post-cryopreservation reached 77.9±3.4% which is 3-fold higher than that obtained by conventional warming method (25.3±6.43%). Additionally, the cells post-cryopreservation maintained their normal attachment, proliferation, surface marker expression and intact multilineage differentiation properties. Moreover, the results of mouse tails cryopreservation showed relatively improved intact structure when using PLM NPs rewarming compared with convective warming. The new liquid metal nanosystem provides a universal platform for cryopreservation that is expected to have widespread applications, especially the potential in bioengineering, cell-based medicine and clinical translation.","PeriodicalId":404791,"journal":{"name":"EngRN: Communication System (Topic)","volume":"345 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134234249","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
