A concatenated code based on KP4-FEC has become a good solution because of its low complexity and excellent compatibility. For concatenated codes, aside from the selection of outer and inner codes, an efficient interleaving scheme is also very critical to deal with different channel conditions. Aiming at burst errors in wired communication, we propose a novel matrix interleaving scheme for concatenated codes which set the outer code as KP4-FEC and the inner code as Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem (BCH) code. In the proposed scheme, burst errors are evenly distributed to each BCH code as much as possible to improve their overall decoding efficiency. Meanwhile, the bit continuity in each symbol of the RS codeword is guaranteed during transmission, so the number of symbols affected by burst errors is minimized. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed interleaving scheme can achieve a better decoding performance on burst-error channels than the original scheme. In some cases, the extra coding gain at the bit-error-rate (BER) of 1 × 10−15 can even reach 1 dB.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"10883 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133977947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two different microstrip antennas with a single thin slot and a magnetic material, respectively, are employed to investigate their characteristic performances, in particular, axial ratio (AR) and impedance bandwidth. A rectangular thin slot with the size of 7.2 mm × 1 mm is arranged diagonally over the antenna patch, while a magnetic material with the size of 3 mm×3 mm × 1 mm is embedded inside the dielectric substrate of the antenna host. The magnetic material utilized for investigation is Yttrium Iron Garnet (YIG) in the demagnetized state. Characteristic performances of the proposed microstrip antenna are then compared with the ones of conventional microstrip antenna. The characterization results show that the microstrip antenna with thin slot and magnetic material can improve –10 dB impedance bandwidth for more than 78% and 44%, respectively, whilst 3 dB AR bandwidth enhances up to 12% and 160%, respectively. In addition, the center frequency of both antennas that are shifted to the lower frequency region shows the feasibility in frequency tuning and miniaturization of the microstrip antenna.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133372172","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, the EfficientNet-B2 is first obtained from the pretrained model on the basis of the pretraining, sampling, labeling, and aggregation (PSLA) framework. Then, the A2-FPN module is applied to the outputs of the layers of the EfficientNet-B2 to deal with the different time and frequency resolutions from acoustic features. The aggregated feature map from the A2-FPN module is used as input features to two bidirectional gated recurrent unit layers. Specifically, the proposed A2-FPN-based SED model is trained by the mean-teacher approach to utilize weakly labeled and unlabeled data. Finally, the proposed A2-FPN-based SED model is applied to the detection and classification of acoustic scenes and events (DCASE) 2021 Challenge Task 4. Consequently, it is shown that the polyphonic sound event detection score (PSDS) 1 and 2 of the proposed A2-FPN-based SED model are the higher of 0.03 and 0.172, respectively, than those of the DCASE 2021 Challenge Task 4 baseline.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116038342","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, microstrip antennas have several disadvantages such as low gain and efficiency, narrow bandwidth and surface waves that can damage the radiation pattern. The use of textile antennas also allows a mutual coupling effect between the body and the antenna that can change the resonance frequency, reduce antenna performance, and radiation hazard to the body. Based on these problems, an Electromagnetic Band Gap (EBG) structure is used with a unit cell in the shape of a Mushroom-like EBG and a via in the middle of the EBG. The use of the EBG structure can increase efficiency, reduce the effect of mutual coupling, create a better radiation pattern, and reduce radiation hazard to the body. Tests were carried out on antennas with and without EBG structures in the bandwidth range of 10–100 MHz for the 5G Band operating frequency of 3.5 GHz (n78 3500 MHz). In the 0 mm SAR test, the conventional antenna SAR is 2.4264 W/Kg, and the modified EBG antenna SAR is 1.082 W/Kg, there is a 55% reduction in SAR when the EBG structure is added. Thus, it is proven that the addition of EBG with modifications in this study can produce a minimum SAR value..In addition, there is an increase in bandwidth of 92% with the Conventional Antenna bandwidth of 27.30 MHz and the Modified EBG Antenna bandwidth and 52.50 MHz DGS with the test object on Hand. In the radiation parameters, the radiation pattern is unidirectional, linear polarization, and gain is 8.32 dBi.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122239847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Intersatellite links are subjected to doppler phenomenon due to relative motion between the satellites. Doppler and Amplifier distortion together significantly degrade the data transmitted on the Inter-Satellite links. The cumulative degradation is presented via Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) metric as it helps to understand both qualitative and quantitative signal degradation. In view of significant number satellite constellations being deployed around the globe for data transmission,the results presented in this paper helps satellite constellation designers to understand and estimate the cumulative distortion. An expression for the Error Vector magnitude is derived and presented for a PSK(I/Q) modulated signal. However, it is time-consuming to reach such a low BER through normal software simulation, which brings inconvenience to the code construction. To solve the above problem, this work presents an analysis method to evaluate the decoding performance of EII codes, and no simulation is required. Numerical results show that the estimated frame-error-rate (FER) matches well with the simulated FER, so does the BER. Moreover, the failure probability of each decoding stage can be predicted accurately. Therefore, we can dig deep into the decoding behavior of each stage, which guides the adjustment of redundancy distribution, improving the error correction performance. Finally, the theoretical analysis for regular EII codes is simplified to reduce calculations.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121283617","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
