Obviously, it will play an important role in satellite networks as well. To address that quality of service (QoS) may be severely affected by embedding satellite virtual networks (SVNs), we propose a method for SVN admission control that can effectively guarantee the QoS of network slices by admitting SVNs embedded in the physical satellite networks. Specifically, firstly, we propose a two-stage SVN embedding mechanism that decouples short-term resource allocation from long-term admission control and resource leasing. Then, we consider the case of uncertain system capacity due to the highly dynamic nature of the satellite networks topology, and model the admission control problem as a robust optimization problem. The robust problem is transformed into a convex counterpart by using the Bernstein approximation. Finally, we solve the resource allocation problem by converting it into a convex problem. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132556045","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Simple ultra-densification of RAN is not desirable since the problems of frequent handoff and severe interference will be caused. It is desirable to build the ultra-dense RAN based on the distributed multi-user multi-input multi-output (MU-MIMO) technology. In this paper, the design concept of cellular distributed MU-MIMO is presented to realize scalable ultra-dense RAN. In cellular distributed MU-MIMO, a wide communication service area is divided into a number of disjointed areas called cells using the distributed antenna location information and then, multiple user-centric small cells called user-clusters are formed in each cell using the user location information. To effectively mitigate intra- and inter-cell interferences caused by RAN ultra-densification, fully and semi-decentralized interference coordination (IC) schemes are presented.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121509953","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One technique for addressing some of the challenges is to use the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technique, which involves the simultaneous transmission of data from several sources, hence increasing data rate. To achieve this goal, vehicle manufacturers have started to work in this field to harness the potential and solve current challenges to achieve the desired results. In this sense, the first challenge is transforming conventional vehicles into autonomous ones that meet users’ expectations. The evolution of conventional vehicles into autonomous vehicles includes the adoption and improvement of different technologies and computer algorithms. The essential task affecting the autonomous vehicle’s performance is its localization, apart from perception, path planning, and control, and the accuracy and efficiency of localization play a crucial role in autonomous driving. In this paper, we describe the implementation of map-based localization using point cloud matching for autonomous vehicles. The Robot Operating System (ROS) along with Autoware, which is an open-source software platform for autonomous vehicles, are utilized for the implementation of the vehicle localization system presented in this paper. Point cloud maps are generated based on 3D lidar points, and a normal distributions transform (NDT) matching algorithm is used for localizing the test vehicle through matching real-time lidar measurements with the pre-built point cloud maps. The experiment results show that the map-based localization system using 3D lidar scans enables real-time localization performance that is sufficiently accurate and efficient for autonomous driving in a campus environment. The paper comprises the methods used for point cloud map generation and vehicle localization as well as the step-by-step procedure for the implementation with a ROS-based system for the purpose of autonomous driving.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"159 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122864805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Monopulse antennas frequently used in tracking system provide high accuracy and efficiency in determining the range and position of the target due to the utilization of two beams, namely, sum and difference. A hybrid junction is one type of four-port network coupler widely applied in feeding networks for providing sum and diff channels. This paper deals with the development of substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) based feeding network for S-band monopulse antenna. The use of SIW aims to overcome the bulky structure of the conventional metallic waveguide and the complex integration in a finite space. The proposed SIW-based feeding network which operates at S-band frequency is implemented using a 1.524 mm thin Rogers RO-4003C dielectric substrate. The characterization result shows that the SIW-based feeding network can achieve less than –10 dB isolation, with insertion loss about –3.99 dB, return loss less than –10 dB, and phase difference around 180°. The close match between the results enables the proposed SIW-based feeding network to be applied for the desired application in tracking system.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124855528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nonetheless, the topology will be fast changed caused by the fast movement of the aircraft. The classical AODV algorithm may not suit this scenario and may suffer from the unstable transmission, large delay, and packet loss. This paper propose a Kalman filter aided AODV routing protocol to increase the performance of air-ground integrated networks. The Kalman filter has been employed to predict the link quality of air node with linear model in short time scale, which will be able to form a proactive routing framework. The proposed trajectory prediction method is simple to implement and can effectively solve the problem of fast topology change due to the movement of aircraft. The dynamic repair package is added to the route repair strategy to provide a reliable auxiliary solution to reducing the route interruption rate and the number of transmission links created, which will finally improve the link stability.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123592644","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because of the ubiquitous nature of the applications, computationally efficient and robust speech emotion recognition models are required. The nature of the speech signal requires tracking of time steps, analyzing long-term dependencies and the contexts of the utterances as well as the spatial cues. Recurrent neural networks like long short-term memory and gated recurrent units coupled with attention mechanisms are often used to consider long-term dependencies and context in the speech signal. However, they do not take care of the spatial cues that may exist in the speech signal. Moreover, the operation of most of these systems is sequential which causes slow convergence, and sluggish training. Therefore, we propose a model that employs dilated convolutions layers in combination with hybrid attention mechanisms. The model uses multi-head attention to extract the global context in the feature representations which are fed into the bidirectional long short-term memory configured with self-attention to further handle the context and long-term dependencies. The model uses spectral and voice quality features extracted from the raw speech signals as input. The proposed model achieves comparable performance in terms of F1 score and accuracy. The proposed model’s performance is also presented in terms of confusion matrices.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129770066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
