Here, the asymmetric slot coupled ground plane is responsible for generating orthogonal modes to realize circular polarization (CP) in the proposed antenna. The designed antenna shows TE11δ mode and is confirmed by the rotation of the electric field inside the triangular DRA. This proposed antenna is realized by using dual right-angled triangular dielectric resonators (DRs), which are separated by an optimal gap to be responsible for the generation of wideband CP bandwidth. Proposed antenna shows -10 dB input impedance bandwidth of 20.22% (3.25-3.98 GHz) and 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth in broadside direction of 16.11% (3.31-3.89 GHz). In addition, this antenna offers an average gain and radiation efficiency of 5.64 dBi and 89.00% in the broadside direction respectively. The designed antenna shows right-hand circular polarization and is suitable for Wi-MAX applications (3.3-3.7 GHz).","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115607750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In conventional systems, channel estimation is one of the blocks at receiver side to compute channel impulse response. Various algorithms have been proposed to make them efficient and improve their performance. However, precise channel estimation incurs additional computational cost and increases complexity of the overall system. In this study, we have considered the otherwise to bypass channel estimation of an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) based image communication system designed to enable cloud-based deep learning (DL) computation. The simulations present performance analysis of OFDM system with and without channel correction in-terms of bit error rate (BER), and two image quality measures. Recovered image quality difference between the two systems significantly increases with higher Eb/N0. For inferencing analysis, in higher Eb/N0 regions, model performance on images recovered with correction is same as on the original images while lags behind by 6% on images without correction. In lower Eb/N0 regions, the model accuracy reduces by 10% on average for both systems. In addition, the model accuracy shows overlapping pattern in that region and for 3 dB, it has performed better on images recovered without correction.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115727936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The complexity is a prime concern considering its implementation in a machine-to-machine (M2M) communication involving limited capacity devices. Since these devices have low processing power, so practical implementation of SCMA needs to be optimised for better performance. This paper proposes an SCMA decoder with a soft demapping technique to reduce the computational complexity, providing better performance. To improve the stability of SCMA system for M2M communication, this paper proposes the use of noise variance threshold ψ, to handle the system’s stability. Results confirmed that the proposed soft demapper-based SCMA reduced the execution time to 33% and the iteration number to 63% compared to the conventional SCMA scheme deploying message passing algorithm (MPA)-based decoding. The proposed SCMA provides an improvement of 2.5 dB at a BER of 10−3 under the block Rayleigh fading channels and an improvement of approximately 1.1 dB at a BER of 10−5 dB under the fast Rayleigh fading channels. The improvements come from the fast convergence of iterative decoding using a soft demapper supported by a variance threshold ψ that avoids the duality decision at the border of the decision area.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"27 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120911122","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Digital twins virtually replicate various objects in the real world, and based on this, simulations in the digital world can be performed at low cost to solve or optimize problems in the real world. Until now, these digital twin technologies have been designed and developed to target a single system or single process. Recently, some researchers and developers have tried to optimize a more complex world or to solve complex problems by using digital twin. The concept that emerged based on this is the federated digital twin, which organically unites multiple digital twins. However, the first procedure for effective operation of multiple digital twins is to verify the integrity and validity of data. In this paper, a data validation method for constructing the federated digital twin is introduced.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127526766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To provide enough beamforming gain to combat the path loss on high-frequency bands, large-scale antenna arrays should be used, which generate narrow and directive beams. It may require hundreds or thousands of beams to cover a cell and introduce challenges for the beam alignment during the initial access stage. As a result, both the overhead and latency of beam sweeping may become unacceptable. We propose the Hash-based beam alignment method to address this problem, including a Hash-based beam transmission scheme for the synchronization signal block (SSB) transmissions and a corresponding UE beam pair selection method. It utilizes multiple transceivers to transmit multiple beams simultaneously, where the beam order follows a pattern generated by a Hash function. Considering UE may only receive discrete SSBs randomly, we design a weighted voting algorithm for UE to fast select the optimal beam pair for the following data transmissions. Simulations demonstrate that the proposed methods can reduce about 50% of the beam alignment latency or find a better beam pair with about 3 dB higher beamforming gain given a limited searching time.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128448644","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
