Three different patch patterns of EM wave absorber were used in the investigation, namely square resonator pattern, ring resonator pattern, and split ring resonator pattern. The investigation was performed in an anechoic chamber using a horn antenna connected to a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) to measure reflected wave from the proposed EM wave absorber. The horn antenna and the measured EM wave absorber was separated around 1.5 m to comply a far-field region of measurement. At the frequency of 3 GHz, the absorption powers in an ideal condition for the EM wave absorber with square resonator pattern, ring resonator pattern, and split ring resonator pattern are −12.05 dB, −14.33 dB and −14.26 dB, respectively. The investigation results showed that the realized EM wave absorber with ring resonator pattern has better total impedance compared to other patterns indicated by the value of absorption power.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133867298","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two energy constraints users first harvest RF energy from a dedicated power station (PS) and cooperatively transmit their representative information to an information receiver (IR). We aim to investigate the energy-efficiency (EE) maximization problem while considering the quality of service (QoS) requirements. In order to achieve that, we formulate the maximization problem by jointly optimizing time allocation, power allocation, and energy beamforming vectors. Since the proposed problem is non-convex, variable substitutions, fractional programming, and semidefinite relaxation (SDR) are used to convert it into a convex problem. Finally, an algorithm is proposed for determining the optimal solution. Simulation results show that the proposed user cooperation scheme improves system efficiency by comparing with the non-cooperation scheme as the benchmark.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"563 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134292055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For a long time, the secret sharing scheme was studied only in terms of how to make shares. However, a recent study indicated that the security strength depends on where shares are stored on the communications network after they have been made and proposed a method for evaluating the security strength of each allocation of shares. However, the algorithm of the proposed method is inefficient. Here, we propose an improved algorithm based on a binary tree search. Numerical experiments show that the presented method surely reduces the computer usage time compared with the original method.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"191 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132496207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed receiver applies iterative noise cancellation to improve the transmission performance. A low complexity LLR calculation technique is introduced in the proposed receiver. The proposed low complexity iterative non-linear receiver achieves better transmission performance than the MLD with smaller calculational complexity. The performance of the proposed techniques is verified by computer simulation in a 6×3 overloaded MIMO channel. When the reception process is only iterative 2times, the proposed iterative non-linear receiver attains a gain of 0.8dB at the BER of 10−6. The computational complexity is evaluated in terms of the number of additions. The proposed receiver achieves such superior performance with the complexity which is about half as much as conventional soft input decoding with the MLD.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114641473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These services require extensive storage, energy, and computation resources. However, user devices (UDs) have resource constraint to meet the requirements of such services. To tackle the contradiction between resource-constrained UDs and computationally intensive services, MEC have been proposed. MEC servers provide task execution services for UDs. On receiving a service request from the UDs, a MEC server within the network may dynamically allocate computation and memory resources for the task execution. As the MEC servers have limited capacity, efficient utilization of MEC resources is necessitated. Also, it is challenging to find an optimal solution for efficient resource allocations due to different task requirements for a diverse set of services offered to users and dynamicity in wireless networks. To address these problems, we propose a partial task offloading and resource allocation scheme to maximize user task completion within a tolerable time period while minimizing energy consumption. In this paper, we convert the formulated optimization problem to a markov decision process (MDP) and then propose a solution based on the deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) algorithm. The performance results show that the proposed method completes a greater number of tasks within a tolerable delay and reduces the energy consumption in the network, compared to those of other conventional schemes.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116612043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a deep learning (DL) neural network for hybrid precoders and combiners to improve spectral efficiency. With the received signal and channel matrix as the input, the proposed DL network estimates the beamformer matrix as output. The proposed DL approach does not require prior knowledge such as angle features and channel information. Thus, it provides improved spectral efficiency compared to non-DL approaches.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"107 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121651736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This DoS attacks are known as the Primary User Emulation Attack and the Spectrum Sensing Data Falsification. If the intruder behavior is not statistically identical to the behavior of the primary users, intrusion detection techniques based on observing the energy of the received signals can be used. Both machine learning-based intrusion detection and sequential statistical analysis can be effectively applied. However, in some cases, statistical sequential analysis has some advantages in dealing with such challenges. In this paper, we propose a satellite communication security method that jointly considers signal transmission and security computation power based on the orthogonal multiple access (OMA). Before transmission, satellite estimates a security threat based on the number of eavesdroppers (Eves) in the large satellite beam coverage as wide as 50 km for LEO satellites at the L-band. With the security threat, the satellite splits onboard power for signals and security, and controls a beam size. Through the sum capacity optimization problem, we derive the optimal onboard power allocation and security algorithm selection with respect to security threats and channel conditions.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120939109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CUBIC, a congestion control algorithm for high-speed networks, can provide higher throughput than existing algorithms but cannot guarantee satisfactory performance during frequent bandwidth fluctuations. Applying Deep-Q-Network to a TCP congestion control algorithm can improve link utilization. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a DQN-based CUBIC for various networks environments, which simultaneously utilizes the mechanisms of CUBIC and DQN. Through simulation experiments based on NS-3, it was confirmed that the proposed algorithm can increase the throughput compared to CUBIC in any link environment.","PeriodicalId":403546,"journal":{"name":"2022 27th Asia Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130692720","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
