One of the major component inside an automobile engine is throttle valve. The control of electronic throttle is actually the control of movement of plate through which amount of air that enters to the combustion engine is controlled. In this paper, initially, a mathematical model is designed by considering the dynamical behavior of the electronic throttle and further transformed to a state space model. The controller is developed by employing the dynamic surface control (DSC) technique which has been derived from backstepping and sliding mode control techniques. With the help of the simulation results the effectiveness of the proposed controller are shown which prove the validity of the technique.","PeriodicalId":403256,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Recent Developments in Control, Automation and Power Engineering (RDCAPE)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117110917","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The device performance is observed in TCAD. The effect of channel doping on the device characteristics is studied. Moreover, the effect of different gate dielectrics on the ON current, OFF current, band-to-band generation rate due to different body layer thickness, and variation of oxide thickness effect on ON and OFF currents are observed. The variation of transfer characteristics, band-to-band generation rate for various back gate voltages are also observed. In comparison with the conventional TFET, the proposed device provides higher ON state current and a better ON state to OFF state current ratio and Subtheshold Swing. Moreover, the Tunnel FET ON state is independent of back gate voltage, only the subthreshold region is varying with back gate voltage unlike MOSFET.","PeriodicalId":403256,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Recent Developments in Control, Automation and Power Engineering (RDCAPE)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133759262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A comparison study is presented in this paper between conventional PI controllers and PSO tuned optimal PI controllers. The HRES is combination of multiple generation and storage module. The generation module comprises of wind turbine generator, photovoltaic system, fuel cell (FC) and diesel engine generator. On the other hand energy storage module comprise of battery energy storage system and flywheel energy storage system. Aqua electrolyzer is also included in the studied HRES to provide the hydrogen as a fuel to FC. The power generated by wind turbine generator and photovoltaic system is taken as constant. The simulation response of the HRES is found to be better for PSO optimized controllers as compared to conventional controllers.","PeriodicalId":403256,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Recent Developments in Control, Automation and Power Engineering (RDCAPE)","volume":"8 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120976691","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This planning model is proposed in multi-objective framework. Pareto based multi-objective optimization using Harmony Search Algorithm is proposed for optimizing the location and size of DGs and a fuzzy set theory approach has been used to find the best solution from the obtained Pareto solutions. The three objectives considered for minimization by this model are: real power loss, voltage deviation and the total imposed costs (fuel costs, investments cost, operation and maintenance cost and pollution associated expenses since the DG technology considered here is diesel generator). The proposed approach is tested on IEEE-33 bus and IEEE 69-bus distribution systems and the results are validated with well known NSGA-II technique. The comparison has shown that the proposed technique resulted better compared to NSGA-II.","PeriodicalId":403256,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Recent Developments in Control, Automation and Power Engineering (RDCAPE)","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121408711","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Practically redundancy is most useful way of improving system reliability. In this paper, a new cost based importance measure termed as cost based heuristic redundancy importance measure (CBHRIM) is proposed for ranking of component. To the best of our knowledge such an importance measure does not exist. The results of this measure are demonstrated with the help of all digital protection system and compared with classical importance measures.","PeriodicalId":403256,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Recent Developments in Control, Automation and Power Engineering (RDCAPE)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126402610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
