One element of culture which owned by society as identity is traditional clothes. It has significant philosophical values. The phenomenon, then, raises questions to be investigated: how are the transformation forms of Manggaraian traditional clothing? Why there has been a change in Manggaraian traditional clothes? To answer those questions, a semiotic approach proposed by Saussure and then developed by Barthes has been used by the researchers. This research is a library research which is categorized as qualitative research. The method used in this research was thick description proposed by Pontoretto. Data collection were done by observation, literature study, and interviews. The result of the study shows that Manggaraian traditional costumes has been changing throughout decades. The biggest impact comes from South Sulawesi because Manggarai was under control of Gowa Kingdom until the Dutch dominated Flores island. Nevertheless, there is an adjustment with the surrounding condition namely the use of local motifs as the manifestation of Manggaraian natural condition.","PeriodicalId":403224,"journal":{"name":"First International Conference on Humanities, Education, Language and Culture, ICHELAC 2021, 30-31 August 2021, Flores, Indonesia","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128323095","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research aimed to obtain a comprehensive picture of the teaching efficacy beliefs of student-teacher candidates (preservice teachers) and mathematics teachers (in-service teachers) and identify the factors that can cause the formation of such beliefs. The participants involved in the study were from two groups. The first group was the math teacher candidates who attended a mathematics teacher education program at a private university; the second group was the same program alumni working as math teachers in secondary schools. This research was mixed-method research that combines quantitative through online questionnaires and qualitative methods through interviews. The instruments used in the study consists of the Mathematics Teaching Efficacy Beliefs Instruments (MTEBI) and interview guidelines. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and t-test, whereas the interview data were analyzed with the Miles and Huberman technique. The results showed that the mathematics teaching efficacy beliefs of the preservice and inservice teachers are majorly firm or high in level, with no significant difference between groups. The key factors affecting the formation of such teaching efficacy beliefs are the teacher’s mastery of content knowledge during the teacher preparation program and teaching experience. The study results show no significant differences between the teaching efficacy beliefs between the mathematics teacher candidates and those already experienced in teaching. It is also revealed that the in-service teachers’ teaching efficacy beliefs are already formed during their years in the teacher preparation program and only improve moderately after years of experience in teaching. However, the results are still in line with what Bray-Clark and Bates suggest that self-efficacy motivates the prospective and practicing math teachers’ to improve their teaching skills in the future.","PeriodicalId":403224,"journal":{"name":"First International Conference on Humanities, Education, Language and Culture, ICHELAC 2021, 30-31 August 2021, Flores, Indonesia","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132079179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most visible impact is the decline in the structure of church life, such as the changes of conventional mass to online mass, the restriction of major Christian celebrations, such as cancellation of Christmas and Easter celebration, reduced church income, and spending a lot of money on online mass, reduced community participation due to insufficient facilities to attend online celebrations. This study aims to determine the causes of religious decline during the Covid-19 pandemic as well as to find out the church's solutions, people's views, and solutions in facing the challenges of church life during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses quantitative methods to make it easier for writers to collect data. The results of this study indicate that the decline of religion is experienced by the Church and society in the context of not carrying out conventional mass celebrations but switching to an online mass celebration. The solution offered by the Church is that the Church invites all people to obey government regulations by following health protocols and the most important thing is \"Pray\" to be free from Covid-19, even though no definite solution has yet been found in facing the challenges of Covid-19 in church life. Other findings show that people are still willing to take part in online mass celebrations in all possible ways, including by following celebrations from home, joining celebrations with neighbors, listening to the radio, watching celebrations through television programs, and carrying out personal prayers if they do not have facilities supporters to attend online mass celebrations.","PeriodicalId":403224,"journal":{"name":"First International Conference on Humanities, Education, Language and Culture, ICHELAC 2021, 30-31 August 2021, Flores, Indonesia","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131559996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
