The dawn of e-commerce business has resulted into some firms, which post reviews that are carefully designed to influence the opinion of prospective customers. Review sites provide an open platform for everyone to share their experiences but authenticity of the reviews is not assured thereby affecting customers' buying decisions. Reviews which are not genuine are generally termed as spam. For many years, email spam and web spam were the two socially discussed opinion issues. Nowadays, due to popularity of online shopping and customer's dependence on the online reviews, it became a major target for review spammers to mislead customers by writing untruthful reviews for target products. Opinion spammers may write reprehensible positive opinions in order to promote some target objects or by giving beguiling negative opinions to some other objects in order to damage their reputation. Writing fake review is an unethical activity, also known as shilling. To the best of our knowledge, not much study is reported to evaluate trustworthiness of online reviews. In the past few years, variety of techniques has been recommended by researchers to accord with this trouble. Given a set of potential positions, the basic goal is to minimize the number of relay nodes to be placed and maximize the connectivity between the sensor nodes and the relay nodes to employ fault tolerance of the wireless sensor networks. We present a linear programming (LP) formulation for the stated problem and propose a GA (Genetic Algorithm) based relay node placement algorithm. As analytics plays a major role in BI, OLAP is an integrated part of BI in modern day business application. Data warehouse is the most popular way to design and build OLAP. Data warehouse along with ETL and reporting tools provides an integrated environment for business processing. Business processing also demands decision making system and knowledge representation. Moreover the data sources are physically distributed in different locations. Hence modern day business environment is a complex architecture with a numbers of entities. An efficient development of median & adaptive median filter is presented for removal of impulse noise mainly salt & pepper noise from digital Images. Performance measurement of mean square error (MSE) and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) is done to compare these two filters. This paper proposes hardware implementation which is highly required for real time execution. Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) are widely used for real time processing where the requirements of time, speed, area, power become strict. The algorithms of these two filters are discussed in detail which is followed by FPGA based solutions. This work presents a close examination of 4G LTE standard to recognize better the performance characteristics. Long Term Evolution (LTE) is used in 4G mobile telecommunication for high speed wireless communication data transfer in mobile phones and data terminals. Modulation techniques such as QPSK, 16QAM and 64QAM are discussed based on the parameters like channel power, occupied bandwidth, adjacent channel power, average power based on statistical complementary cumulative distribution function, and signal to noise ratio. The term `estimation of a hybrid system' implies state estimation as well as mode estimation of a plant. In hybrid systems, where modes are determined by the output variables, the mode determination may become erroneous due to inaccurately known or wrongly initialized measurement noise covariances. Innovation and residual based R-adaptive Extended Kaiman filters are employed here successfully for adapting true sensor noise covariance. A three tank system has been used in this work to demonstrate the effectiveness of the scheme. Simulation results show the effects on the performance of the estimator due to inaccurately or wrongly assigned magnitudes of sensor noise covariance using innovation based and residual based adaptive extended Kaiman filter. Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) has been studied to characterize the biological objects like fruits and vegetables for assessing their freshness. In this direction, the EIS studies have been conducted as a non-destructive investigation evaluation method to study the electrical impedance variations in banana ripening. The aim of the work is to correlate the impedance variation with the ripening process in banana. A small amount of alternating current is injected to the banana attached to an array of Ag/AgCl electrodes and the surface potentials are measured using Agilent 4294A impedance Analyzer. The banana impedance and phase angles are measured from 50 Hz and 1 MHz. The results demonstrate that the electrical impedance of banana varies significantly during its ripening. Till date different techniques of image segmentation are available and hence There exists a huge survey literature in different approaches of Image Segmentation. Selection of image segmentation technique is highly problem specific. There is no versatile algorithm which is applicable for all kinds of images. Optimization based image segmentation is not explored much which can be applied to reduce complexity of the problem.
