Conventional equipment for enhancement of power quality is becoming inadequate. Unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) is one modern device which deals with voltage and current imperfections simultaneously. In this paper, an attempt has been made to model the UPQC for voltage and current compensation with the help of two different control schemes. The thickness of GaN buffer layer was varied to find out the optimum GaN buffer layer for a crack free heterostructure, exhibiting appreciable structural and optical results. Full width at half maximum (FWHM) of GaN (0002) x-ray diffraction (XRD) peak and that of top AlGaN layer was estimated to be as low as 576 arcsec and 396 arcsec respectively. Near band edge photoluminescence (PL) peak for GaN also showed a FWHM of only 21 meV. Several researchers have proposed different methods in last two decades. In this work we have employed a global ECG beat classification approach based on transformed features like discrete cosine transform (DCT) and discrete wavelet transform (DWT) rather than conventional time interval or morphology features to classify six different types of ECG beats. It is observed that a few features from the ranking of combined DCT and DWT features perform better than the individual feature sets on this problem. The experimental results are validated on large data sets taken from MIT/BIH arrhythmia database by employing two kernel classifiers, namely support vector machine (SVM) and vector valued regularized kernel function approximation (WRKFA), and a single layer feedforward neural network (SLFN) classifier known as extreme learning machine (ELM). Multiplier circuits are used comprehensively in Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs). Thus it is desirable to have high speed operation for the sub components. The explored method of implementation achieves a high speed low power design for the multiplier. Simulated results indicate the superior performance of the proposed technique over conventional CMOS multiplier. The Node Probability Tables (NPT) play a vital role in BBN. Failure data is not available in the early phases (i.e., phases which occur before testing phase) of software development life cycle (SDLC). However, metrics of early phases of SDLC can be assessed qualitatively. Therefore, an intelligent selection of software metrics also plays a vital role in developing a software defect prediction model using BBN. Legal complications related to use of copyright protected code has a far reaching effect. The challenge is to detect the existence of logical equivalence in an otherwise seemingly unmatched code. In this paper, a novel approach has been described which detects plagiarism only in logical statements of the code i.e. it does not detect copy-pasting in inclusion statements (e.g. #include in C/C++, import in JAVA), macro definitions (e.g. #define in C/C++), declaration statements and inside commented code. It also takes into account possible cosmetic changes of the code e.g. variable renaming, data type alterations, code snippets insertions or minor modifications. We have obtained Mac Williams identities for Lee weight enumerator of linear codes over R using a Gray map from R<sup>n</sup> to (F<sub>2</sub> +uF<sub>2</sub>)<sup>n</sup>. We have studied self-dual codes over R and determined some existential conditions for Type I and Type II codes over R. Further we have briefly studied cyclic codes over R. It is shown that R[x]/〈x<sup>n</sup> - 1〉 is a PIR when n is odd. VLC has a promising future and it acts as a complement to the present RF communication by achieving larger bandwidth and high data rate. At present, the day to day activities use lot of LED based lights for illumination, which can also be used for communication because of the advantages like fast switching, high power efficiency and safe to human vision. Hence, this paper presents about ecofriendly data communication through visible light which consists of the white LEDs that transmit audio signals to the receiver. SnS thin films as an absorber layer for photovoltaic application are deposited using chemical bath deposition (CBD) having a thickness of 550 nm from a solution containing SnCl2.2H2O, TEA, TA and NH3OH NH3OH is used to control the pH of the solution which is maintained at 5. The surface morphology of the deposited film has been examined using X-Ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The optical as well as electrical properties of deposited film have been characterized using UV-Vis spectrophotometer and hall effect measurement system respectively. Results show that films deposited in this process have amorphous crystal structure and have good adherence to the substrate. Two-area all thermal types interconnected power system network is considered for design and analysis purpose. The thermal areas are equipped with single and double reheat turbine, simultaneously. The designed problem is considered as an optimization problem and BBO algorithm is applied to search optimal gains of classical PID-controller which is used in AGC problem. The behavior of the test system is also investigated with the analysis towards the different cost functions such as integral square error (ISE) and integral time absolute error (ITAE). Small load perturbation (SLP) is considered in area-1 for studying the dynamic behaviors of the designed power system unit. To validate the effectiveness and superiority of proposed controller, the performances are compared with the results obtained by differential evaluation (DE) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) techniques.
