By extracting themes and key concepts from trainees’ online narrative feedback after training, this research explored a mixed way of human and computational analysis on trainees’ perception of training deficiencies to weave individual narrative feedback as supplementary features into a semantic knowledge map of training needs. The case study was conducted in an international company with over 100000 employees at dispersed locations. This research provides a method for any specific companies with unique characteristics to construct a dynamic knowledge map, leading to a possible automatic improvement of the training program.","PeriodicalId":40094,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Adult Education and Technology-IJAET","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48542553","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study analyses the positive teaching-learning outcomes that came out with the teaching of this course to the working professionals through online mode at an institution from a cross-functional perspective. The research question is whether teaching the supply chain management course from a cross-functional perspective resulted in better student performance in terms of Bloom's taxonomy. This study finds that the positive effect of this experiment is statistically significant on the treatment set. The study also proposes a few examples of cross-functional classroom teaching and linkages between different courses that need to be brought to the attention of the students. The study also sheds light on different tools of cross-functional teaching and how the management faculty can develop the art of delivering lectures from a cross-functional perspective, and the caution that they need to exercise while adopting this pedagogy style.","PeriodicalId":40094,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Adult Education and Technology-IJAET","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42664156","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A survey consisting of two measures was used. The first scale was the students' possession of national identity, and the second measure was the students' role in facing the Coronavirus. The results indicated that the Taif University students' national identity and their role in facing the Coronavirus was high. The results also showed that there were no significant differences due to the effect of gender for both scales. There were significant differences due academic level favored students (from the fifth-eighth level). Among the study's most important recommendations were the necessity of the students' awareness about the importance of attending educational sessions, national events, and volunteer participation as well as clarifying the implications of that participation for individuals and society so that students could see how valuable the activities were.","PeriodicalId":40094,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Adult Education and Technology-IJAET","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41909509","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study aimed to develop a perceptions of employee resource groups scale. The authors recruited data from 268 participants from a for-profit organization in the United States. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was used to examine the factor structure of the ERGS. Cronbach's alpha was used to determine the internal consistency of each factor. The exploratory factor analysis identified 2 factors: employee resource group outcomes, and supervisory support. There is a growing body of research that examines the activities and the efficacy of employee resource groups within for-profit organizations. There is not a validated scale that measures perceptions of the outcomes of ERGs and how supervisory support influences the employees' participation in the ERGs.","PeriodicalId":40094,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Adult Education and Technology-IJAET","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41973423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Inevitably, embedded in social, cultural, and economic contexts, the conceptualization and implementation of lifelong learning across the globe is far from homogenous. In China, although the notion of lifelong learning can be traced to Confucius, the term was introduced more formally in the late 1970s after the Cultural Revolution. In the present article, the authors engage in a critically reflective discussion of the lifelong learning in China. The authors offer historical and future perspectives on lifelong learning and how it is enacted in relation to labor distribution, skills, training, and future needs.","PeriodicalId":40094,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Adult Education and Technology-IJAET","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47312217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is a correlation between poor healthcare communication and chronic stress in cancer patients. Chronic stress impedes the human immune system and promotes tumor growth. There is also a negative correlation between cancer communication discomfort in patients and their level of education. To address poor healthcare communication, chronic stress, and improve health outcomes, healthcare providers must act as educators. It is important for providers to (1) utilize effective methods when communicating face-to-face with cancer patients, (2) present written information that can be understood at sixth to eighth grade levels, and (3) utilize the power of computer-mediated communication in order improve the health literacy and outcomes of their cancer patients.","PeriodicalId":40094,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Adult Education and Technology-IJAET","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49092491","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
