Compares the abstention index, invalid votes, blank and null with the annulled contention to determine whether the disposition of the electorate remained stable or changed, as well as appreciate how it gave any changes. The results indicate an increase in abstention and null votes, but the reduction of invalid and blank votes. The main sources are the Superior Electoral Court and the G1 portal, to obtain information about the results of elections.","PeriodicalId":38915,"journal":{"name":"Sociedade e Cultura","volume":"75 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80378021","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

How does an image generated by a blind photographer fits into the contemporary imagery world? In this article I analyze the catalog of the exhibition “Sight Unseen”, which presented the work of twelve blind photographers. I try to understand how the images of these photographers are presented and the arguments involved in the contextualization of their artistic work. I evaluate how their works mobilize the notions of sight and gaze that permeate the universe of the image and what kind ofdestabilization are raised around these concepts. Finally, I reflect on what the images generated by blind photographers teach us about visuality and our ways of seeing.","PeriodicalId":38915,"journal":{"name":"Sociedade e Cultura","volume":"8 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78669828","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The social sciences, especially anthropology, have already demonstrated the potential of this phenomenon beyond its biological aspects. In this article, death serves as a theme for reflection on experiences, narratives and senses. Based on reports of Near Death Experiences (NDEs), the author describes how sense narratives are constructed, how new emotional and cognitive arrangements are expressed narratively, and how much of the culture is shared by what is said. Thus, in this article, the central argument is to understand how a biological phenomenon, death,can be redefined, gaining new contours and essentially cultural aspects. It is evident that near-death narratives are important relations with cosmological conceptions, involving aspects such as memory, symbolic perception and emotional patterns. In-depth interviews make up the theoretical material of the article.","PeriodicalId":38915,"journal":{"name":"Sociedade e Cultura","volume":"16 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81717224","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More specifically, how priorities and dimensions addressed in cooperation agreements enter the domestic public policy agenda? This article seeks to present elements that respond to such questions, through qualitative analysis based on bibliography review and documental analysis of bilateral agreements on energy efficiency signed by Brazil with the developed countries, Brazilian national energy policies legislation implemented since the first oil crisis in the 1970s and the Brazilian National Plan on Climate Change. The goal is to identify the actors and the mechanisms by which those programs, which were originally structured in developed countries, spread to Brazilian energy policy and characterize the instruments, in this case, cooperation agreements between the parties. We investigate the stakeholders involved in the negotiations, the issues privileged, the sectors and topics covered as well as the financial sources of the projects negotiated. As a result, we highlight that IDC conditioned the content of energy efficiency programs (EEPs) adopted, signaling that Brazilian Foreign Policy (BFP) has a relevant role to play in energy politics in Brazil.","PeriodicalId":38915,"journal":{"name":"Sociedade e Cultura","volume":"68 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91139206","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two aspects of this connection are examined. Firstly, the performance space and the power of brokers for establishing links between different levels of government action and the society organizations. Secondly, development processes and the role of the State towards policies and intervention programs. Results of ethnographic fieldwork research – between 2008 and 2009 – show that mediators occupy a relevant role to fulfill potentially dynamic spaces, making connections and building ways to support agriculture. On the other hand, the research also demonstrates that, from this peculiar sort of relationships, the State is interpreted ambivalently between desire and repulsion by farmers; therefore, the State is charged for actions and simultaneously criticized for problematic interventions.","PeriodicalId":38915,"journal":{"name":"Sociedade e Cultura","volume":"50 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79496213","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

O artigo apresenta a experiência de migração daqueles moradores de Xinguara que viveram os tempos iniciais da transformação da cidade e da região, propiciada pelas atividades de extração de madeira, garimpo de ouro e ocupação de terras. Propõe-se que a mobilidade nas e entre as “cidades de borda” amazônicas seja tomada como expressão de um conjunto de valores que concebem a “andança” como parte da vida. Desse modo, entendemos que a análise dos processos urbanos deve considerar as narrativas de vidas em tensão entre fluxos e paradas, os contextos de fronteira marcados por alegrias e desafios do desbravamento do novo, mas também pela violência destrutiva contra certos grupos, ambientes e modos de vida preexistentes.","PeriodicalId":38915,"journal":{"name":"Sociedade e Cultura","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88104914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Para alguns é positivo o papel preponderante da abordagem institucionalista. Outros entendem que esta hegemonia cria desigualdade na área e prejudica a reflexão sobre a democracia. Nosso objetivo é mapear este debate numa produção específica e recente. Observamos, quantitativamente e qualitativamente, a produção dos doutores em Ciência Política, principalmente sobre democracia e desigualdade, em sete importantes periódicos científicos. A percepção dos editores dos periódicos sobre esse processo completa o corpus. Concluímos que a hegemonia institucionalista se confirma na produção dos doutores, mas, não sem gerar insatisfações.","PeriodicalId":38915,"journal":{"name":"Sociedade e Cultura","volume":"56 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81220717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This approach ignores the providers perspective on the value of inputs and opportunity costs of service provision. We conducted in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and rank order exercises with health workers to elucidate factors that drive their motivation to deliver PBF incentivized services. Health workers identified three key considerations that drive service prioritization: effort to acquire a patient, effort to treat a patient, and health worker locus of control. Health workers consider multiple factors when prioritizing PBF services to maximize their total reward. In pricing PBF services, program designers must understand inputs’ value and total opportunity costs, rather than relying on public health value and the SMART indicator framework alone. When pricing services, PBF program designers should collaborate with health workers to account for the range of factors that health workers consider when alone.
