Sustained activation of this circuit by prolonged exposure to drugs promotes locomotor sensitization. However, there are inconsistent reports about nicotine-induced locomotor sensitization when assessed among different developmental stages. We evaluated exploratory behavior on specific areas of the open field as an indicator of behavioral disinhibition and general locomotor activity as an indicator of nicotine-induced locomotor sensitization, to further explore the mechanisms underlying behavioral adaptations to nicotine exposure in animals from different developmental stages. We found that while adolescent and adult rats are equally responsive to nicotine-induced locomotor sensitization, nicotine disrupts inhibition of risk-related behavior only in adolescent rats. Together, our results suggest that chronic daily exposure to nicotine promotes potentiation of its stimulant effects on locomotor activity. In adolescents, this effect is accompanied by a decreased capacity to inhibit risk-related behaviors under the acute effect of the drug.\u0000 \u0000How to cite this article: Novoa, C., Solano, J. A sample of the intervention and control groups composed of 20 students aged 10 to 13 (M = 10.3, SD = 0.8), boys and girls were selected. The SSRS (Social Skill Rating System) and the TDE (School Achievement Test) used in the intervention for teachers and students were reapplied. The results showed that the decrease in psychopathological symptoms and the improvements in academic performance were maintained after the intervention. \u0000 \u0000Cómo citar este artículo: Moscoso, M. We analyzed 1468 publications (770 men and 698 women) using a coding system based on the theories of sexual strategies, genetic quality indicators and the preferences classification used in personal ads studies. Initially, we found trends as a greater predilection for psychological attributes and a greater demand to require more traits than offering them. In addition, the cross-cultural pattern demonstrated that men prefer women’s physical characteristics, while women require status/resources by men. Finally, men tended to be more selective in the age range of 36-45 years, while women’s selectivity decreased with age. The results replicate many of the patterns found in investigations related to human sexual selection, also bring enlightenment about new preference dimensions to study in the future.\u0000 \u0000How to cite this article: Moreno, L., Gutiérrez, G., Cruz, J., Javela, L., Gonzáles, M., & Rodríguez, J. Moreover, we are providing a suicide total score for IDCP-2. Participeted 346 people aged between 18 and 72 years who responded to ASIQ, IDCP-2, and PID-5. We divided participants into three groups: low-risk group moderate-risk and high-risk group. We conducted mean comparisons, linear regression analysis, and ROC curve verification. The IDCP-2 factors were able to discriminate between the groups, with the high-risk presenting the highest means. The regression indicated Self-devaluation and Hopelessness as variables with a significant single contribution in explaining suicidal behavior. Suicide risk indicators demonstrated adequate performance in identifying people according to the risk group. Our findings indicate that the IDCP-2 factors can discriminate groups of people according to suicidal behavior. We have been clarifying the notion of refortalecimiento from experiences at communities and academic’s scenarios. As a result, we need to re-imagine some of our concepts to address the consequences of inequalities. In this article, we will present some reflections about three concepts: intervention, prevention model, and empowerment theory based in an Intervention-Investigation (I-I) realized in a community with a group of mothers of children with disabilities (diverse abilities) in an impoverish community in Puerto Rico. We confirmed the need to reevaluate the impact of different concepts/perspectives operating within the project that undermine the implementation process. We learned that the beauty of this process resides on the reciprocity and the fortalezas (strengths) that takes place within all the people involved. But we also find out neoliberal values as: individualism, competition, and everyone for themselves presented great obstacles to overcome discrimination and disparities.\u0000 \u0000How to cite this article: Vázquez-Rivera, C. & Rojas-Livia, J. Our focus is on the internal structure of the Dimensional Clinical Personality Inventory 2 (idcp-2), a self-report test for pathological traits measurement. Previous studies have only partially verified the internal structure of idcp-2. The objective of this study is to verify the internal structure of idcp-2, contemplating in the same analysis all its dimensions and factors. Participants were 2,000 people from the general population. We conducted confirmatory (cfa) and exploratory (efa) factorial analyzes, including bifactor models. The results showed the bifactor model with 12 specific factors with best fit indices. The internal consistency for the general factor was above .90, and from .40 to .91 for the specific factors. The theoretical arguments are tested based on a structural equation model that allows estimating hypothetical relationships simultaneously. Additionally, differences in means between women and men are estimated for each phycological variable and the hypothetical model is tested separately to both sexes. 1,569 people (56% women) from five Mexican States compose the sample. Attitudes strengthen people’s motivation to learn a foreign language (Delfín, 2007), and procrastination, which involves unjustified delaying of activities, causes negative consequences in completing academic tasks postponement of responsibilities (Rodríguez & Clariana, 2017). The design was correlational, and the sample consisted of 55 students learning English. The instruments were the Attitudes towards English language learning questionnaire and the academic procrastination questionnaire. According to the results, evidence shows that there is a positive median relationship between the variables, leading us to conclude that despite having positive attitudes towards learning English, procrastinating behavior does not diminish. The results of this study could be utilized in bilingual programs, or those could also be utilized to implement curricula in language programs at schools or universities.
