Multiprocessor Network-on-Chip (NoC) seems to be a good solution for the higher performance desired VLSI designs. The main challenge is how to enhance the communication efficiency in NoC. The NoC is a new paradigm which is fast emerging at present. The performance of the on-chip-networking depends on routing techniques used in the system. The existing techniques such as Round Robin Arbitration are not so efficient in finding an optimal path. The authors have chosen a different routing algorithm called Optimal Address Based Router (OAR) to find an optimal path which has low overhead. In this paper, we have reported a comparative evaluation of Optimal Address Based NoC router and Round Robin Arbitration based NoC router. The simulated results indicate that the Optimal Address Based NoC router is a better choice. The implementation is done on FPGA Spartan 3Xc 3s400 board. Further analyses of results shows that the optimal address based router consumes 71% lower power, occupies 90% less area and is faster by a factor of 35%.","PeriodicalId":384966,"journal":{"name":"International Conference for Convergence for Technology-2014","volume":"139 8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128958057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays WSN is used in many applications such as Disaster relief applications, environment control, home automation, facility management and habitat monitoring etc. In WSN, nodes are deployed densely in any geographical region used to perform sensing. Since in WSN nodes are powered by limited source of batteries and energy scavenging is very difficult, so the network life time is reduced. Therefore energy efficient operation in WSN is very necessary. In this paper we have focused on energy model i.e. MICA MOTE and MICA Z and modulation schemes. We have created a star topology sensor scenario using Qualnet 6.1 network simulator. This paper comparatively analyzes the energy model and modulation schemes on the basis of energy efficiency and QoS to find out which energy model and modulation schemes provide best services. The metrics used in Performance evaluation are energy consumption, throughput, average jitter, end to end delay, and signal received but with error using Qualnet 6.1 simulator.","PeriodicalId":384966,"journal":{"name":"International Conference for Convergence for Technology-2014","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127737951","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Combustion at industrial gas burner is achieved by mixing L.P.G. (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) with air. In industrial gas burner, L.P.G. is transmitted with fixed pressure from cylinder & regulator mechanism but air is transmitted after direct suction from surrounding. Therefore air pressure is varying as per surrounding condition of air pressure. This is resulting into improper mixing of air with L.P.G., due to that combustion get affected at industrial gas burner. To avoid such condition of improper combustion, it is necessary to mix constant air pressure with fixed pressure L.P.G. at industrial gas burner. This is achieving with implementing PID control strategy for air pressure loop in industrial gas burner. To implement PID control loop, we identify first order model of industrial gas burner - air pressure section. Then implement PID control strategy on obtained process model and analyze process characteristics. These characteristic analyses of control strategy on process help to identify and implement proper PID control mechanism. This PID control mechanism for air pressure loop in industrial gas burner is help to maintain constant pressure during combustion.","PeriodicalId":384966,"journal":{"name":"International Conference for Convergence for Technology-2014","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133366728","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The gate electrode of Pressure Sensitive Insulated Gate Field Effect Transistor (PSIGFET) is freely suspended by four 1-Mender based serpentine springs at four corner and acts as a pressure sensing diaphragm. The large area requirement of diaphragm is minimizes be using a square shaped membrane of area 0.5 μm × 0.5 μm. The pressure measuring capacity is enhanced by using a Tungsten diaphragm (Modulus of Elasticity=410 GPa) and the device is capable of measuring Pressure in the range of 10-205 MPa. The spring constant of the membrane is determined from Coventorware Simulations of the diaphragm and compared with analytical value (3.8639133×10-4 μm/MPa). The pressure sensitivity of the device is found to be quite good, in the range of 0.1355-0.3167 μA/MPa. The temperature stability of the sensor device is further investigated and the temperature coefficient of pressure sensitivity is found to quite low (0.01-0.02 μA/MPa/10oC) at VGS= 3V indicating that the device is stable again the temperature variation up to 77oC.","PeriodicalId":384966,"journal":{"name":"International Conference for Convergence for Technology-2014","volume":"35 8","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132149850","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, Quality of Service which is offered by these services forms the differentiating factor. Several works have been published describing different approaches to discover best in class services and it continues to be a hot research area. In this process, service providers who provide ordinary quality of service lose out to competition and eventually dissolve. Hence customers will have to choose service providers who provide better quality than they actually need and end up paying more money. In order to address this issue, we have proposed a new approach named Anveshana aiming to create a Win-Win result for both customer and service provider. Anveshana considers quality and priority requirements of customer and provides a relevance score to each applicable service and helps in rationally selecting the right service in an unbiased manner. This forms basis of further research on customer driven service selection leveraging on quality of service based computations.","PeriodicalId":384966,"journal":{"name":"International Conference for Convergence for Technology-2014","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130507330","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper focuses on the techniques available to cope with the challenges of green computing. It studies the methodologies employed in various scenarios, and addresses the vulnerability of each of such methods accordingly. Many techniques for dealing with the above issues like DVFS, performance monitoring are available. DVFS ensures energy conservation and CPU utilization for moderate workloads whereas request batching is well suited for light workloads. The paper studies that request batching can be realized on a virtual environment to provide energy utilization in the web servers. User enters a keyword in search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc for retrieval of keyword related images, where millions of images are retrieved through search engines. The problem with a keyword search is that keywords entered by user are very short and ambiguous, hence images which are retrieved are of different categories and some of them are irrelevant. Visual information is used in order to solve the ambiguity in text based image retrieval. User only has to click on one query image. The query image is categorized based on textual features like image title, image URL, context, where a metadata corresponding to every image is extracted and also some visual features like histogram distance computation, SIFT, region based features are extracted. The query image selected by the user is first classified into a particular category and the images related to the query image are then retrieved by matching the class of query image and the class of other images. Using image clustering, classified images are clustered to group highly relevant images into one cluster and the keywords corresponding to the image clusters are extracted. The original keyword is extended by appending the extracted keyword with highest frequency. This gives more detail idea about user's search intention. The images are then re-ranked using visual and textual similarity metrics. Duplicate images which are retrieved in search results are detected and eliminated by using SURF(Speeded Up Robust Feature) technique. The system is tested on variety of categories like person, scenery images at semantic level and other general categories like general objects, objects with simple background etc. The system is totally web based and works dynamically on any keyword given as a input by user.","PeriodicalId":384966,"journal":{"name":"International Conference for Convergence for Technology-2014","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130698112","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
