The 2-pole bandpass filter including two short folded resonators and two transmission zeros is considered. The folded resonators result in a small size of 2.4 × 2 mm2. Two tunable capacitor switch banks of MEMS switches are used to tune the center frequency. The first proposed switches are cantilever series switches and the second switches are shunt switches. The tuning range is from 4.075 GHz to 6.3 GHz with a bandwidth of 4% (200 MHz). The results show an insertion loss of 0.7 dB and return loss more than 24 dB over the tuning range of 44%.","PeriodicalId":383315,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE)","volume":"177 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116152728","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our system model is based on two data transmitters as sources and one relay node with Decode-and-Forward (DF) scheme. The system can work in two strategies, DF relaying and direct transmission. In addition to transmission power we consider circuit power of nodes in our Power Consumption Model (PCM) and find the best EE-SE for each strategy by optimizing transmission time and power of each node. Simulation results show that SE-EE trade off in DF relaying has better performance than direct transmission. Despite traditional research that shows exponential decreasing of EE with increase in SE, we will show by considering circuit power, EE-SE relation has a cup shape. The best EE will be achieved by optimizing power and time duration of transmission.","PeriodicalId":383315,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122563277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve less conservative results compared with existing methods in the literature, a novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is constructed and new free-weighting matrices are introduced to increase degrees of freedom in the sufficient robust stability conditions. The maximum allowable delay bound, minimum attenuation level and the gain of memoryless controller is obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally an illustrative example is given to reveal the effectiveness of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":383315,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116349922","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Low noise figure and high conversion gain at wide bandwidth frequency range are two important factors of broadband mixers. All transistors in this design are biased in subthreshold region in order to suppress mixer noise figure. Also, a static current injection circuit (current bleeding circuit) is used to improve its noise performance. The peaking inductor has been utilized to improve mixer gain performance. Simulation results of designed mixer show excellent performance of noise and gain. It achieves a maximum conversion gain of 22.4 dB and an average single-sideband noise figure of 8.4 dB at 5 GHz bandwidth. Developing countries have a large population of children living with undiagnosed heart murmurs. As a result of an accompanying skills shortage, most of these children will not get the necessary treatment. We designed a system for automatically detecting systolic murmurs due to a variety of conditions. This could enable health care providers in developing countries with tools to screen large amounts of children without the need for expensive equipment or specialist skills. For this purpose an algorithm was designed and tested to detect heart murmurs in digitally recorded signals. A specificity of 100% and a sensitivity of 90.57% were achieved using signal processing techniques and a k-nn as classifier.","PeriodicalId":383315,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125808970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For these gyroscopes, the electrostatic controlled force on the proof mass is inherently nonlinear. This study reports a MEMS gyroscope with control capability in which comb drive electrodes are employed as the controlling mechanism to linearize the electrostatic controlled force. To avoid interaction of drive and control comb drive electrodes, another mass has been added to the structure. Consequently, proposed gyroscope consists of a 2-DOF sense mode oscillator and a 1-DOF drive mode oscillator. The prototype with an overall size of 0.46 × 0.635 mm is designed to be fabricated in surface Micromachining process with 3 μm structural layer thickness. In this paper, a new neural network based method is proposed for ultrasound images segmentation. A modified self organizing map (SOM) network, named finite impulse response SOM (FIR-SOM), is utilized to segment ultrasound images. A two dimensional (2D) discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is used to build the input feature space of the network. Experimental results show that FIR-SOM discovers the pattern of the input image properly and is robust against noise. Segmentation results of breast ultrasound images (BUS) demonstrate that there is a strong correlation between tumor region selected by a physician and the tumor region segmented by our proposed method.","PeriodicalId":383315,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128807989","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
