Although there is some case studies of medical-examination text data, there are not many examples fed back to the medical-examination spot. The present paper analyses the operation records of total hip arthroplasty. We extracted feature words that characterize the two peaks which appeared in distribution of postoperative hospital days using SVM (support vector machine) and FS (feature selection). The models gained by optimal FS attained 60% accuracy as prediction performance. We applied logistic regression analysis to estimate postoperative length of stay from the extracted feature words. Most words were not statistically significant except two words.","PeriodicalId":383024,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE Workshop on Electronics, Computer and Applications","volume":"370 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133226575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, carbon nanotube (CNT) assembly by dielectrophoresis (DEP) is investigated and LabVIEW is used to control the DEP for increased degree of process automation. Real-time electrode gap impedance is monitored during DEP and is set as feedback control signal to stop the process. A precision LCR meter generates an alternating current (AC) voltage for DEP and simultaneously measures the gap impedance. Through calling some main performance programs in LabVIEW, the LCR meter is initialized and the code can be designed and read into the control programs via the general-purpose interface bus (GPIB) communication. The impedance decreases suddenly when CNTs are deposited across the gap. The control programs contribute significantly to realizing CNT assembly with specific requirements such as with a predefined assembly resistance, a predefined assembly time or a predefined small number of CNTs.","PeriodicalId":383024,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE Workshop on Electronics, Computer and Applications","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133634908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, the differential excitation map and orientation map are extracted according to Webber local descriptor from each image. Then an orientation weight correction mechanism based on the orientation map is used to adjust the gray value of neighbors in differential excitation map. Finally the corrected differential excitation map is used to establish the LBP histogram and obtain a 10- dimensional feature vector. The proposed feature is evaluated on pancreas endoscopic ultrasound images collected by Gastroenterology Department of Changhai Hospital from 2005 to 2011. The result suggests that the WLBP shows better classification capacity than the LBP, the Webber local descriptor (WLD) and other traditional features on pancreas endoscopic ultrasound images and may provide valuable reference for clinical differential diagnosis.","PeriodicalId":383024,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE Workshop on Electronics, Computer and Applications","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133130932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Then the DNA saturation binding value with xanthotoxin was calculated and compared with the saturation values of ethidium bromide (EB) and bergapten. The saturation DNA binding value can be used as a basis to determine the intensity of drug molecule and DNA interactions. The greater the saturation value, the stronger the DNA intercalation ability and the potential toxicity of a given drug molecule. The results showed that the DNA saturation binding value of xanthotoxin is 0.18, and the saturation values for EB and bergapten are 14.70 and 0.18. As a consequence, it appears that the potential toxicity of xanthotoxin is lower than that of EB and equal with bergapten. The aim of this paper is to provide the basis and reference for using xanthotoxin and avoiding its possible risks.","PeriodicalId":383024,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE Workshop on Electronics, Computer and Applications","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124803297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Aiming at building a robust background, using background difference method, self-adaptive threshold segmentation and Gaussian mixture background modeling algorithm, a self-adaptive background modeling method is proposed. The background difference method and self-adaptive threshold segmentation classify the pixels in each frame into moving targets and background area. When training the background model, this new algorithm keeps the Gaussian mixture background model of the pixels in moving target area unchanged and never build new Gaussian component for this area. Background area is updated in regular way, make the number of Gaussian component for each pixel in this area to be self-adaptive, keep the Gaussian component of background model only updated by the real background pixels, improve the performance of the algorithm and validity for background constructing. Experiments show that the background model built based on the proposed algorithm has good adaptability for video sequences with uncertainties, it can eliminate the shadows and quickly response to the change of actual scene, the computing speed of this model improves a lot as well.","PeriodicalId":383024,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE Workshop on Electronics, Computer and Applications","volume":"186 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124929683","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
