The neural network (NN) technique is regarded to estimate the unknown part of actor as well as critic to deal with the corresponding nominal system. The training technique is simul-taneously carried out based on the solution of minimizing the square error Hamilton function. The closed system’s tracking error is analyzed to converge to an attraction region of origin point with the uniformly ultimately bounded (UUB) description. The simulation results are implemented to determine the effectiveness of the ADP based controller.","PeriodicalId":38280,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems","volume":"12 1","pages":"551-557"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41794495","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Operating temperature of the PV module has a significant impact on the performance of the PV module. However, most of the radiation energy absorbed by the PV panel is converted into heat, which is normally lost and provides no value. In order to decrease the operating temperature of the PV panel, a water cooling system with a control system had designed. Experimentally, when the PV module was operating under active water-cooling condition using the backside cooling technique, the temperature dropped significantly, which led to an increase in the electrical efficiency of solar cells by 6.86%.","PeriodicalId":38280,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems","volume":"12 1","pages":"421-430"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45075202","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed system uses the SPMC that operates as a direct AC-AC converter to convert the supply frequency of 50 Hz to reach 20 kHz output frequency. The use of 20 kHz frequency is suitable for Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) operation in order to obtain higher power transfer efficiency between the transmitter and the receiver parts. An advanced of the proposed circuit topology can solve the conventional system for G2V circuit topology that uses multiple stages of power conversion system, resulting in high power semiconductor losses that could lead to low efficiency. In this work, multiple stages of the conventional \"AC-DC-AC\" circuits have been reduced to a single power conversion stage by using the SPMC circuit topology. The use of the proposed circuit topology can reduce the number of devices, thus reduce the semiconductor losses. A part of reducing the semiconductor losses, the proposed circuit topology could also improve the power density and efficiency of the power supply system. A computer simulation model using MATLAB Simulink has been developed to investigate the behavior of the proposed system. Selected simulation results are presented to verify the functionality of the proposed system.","PeriodicalId":38280,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems","volume":"12 1","pages":"286-294"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42992955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Talking about power quality, harmonics distortion of ac waveform is a problem of an inverter circuit. Generating a multilevel current waveform will have less harmonics content than a traditional three-level current waveform. In addition to non-ideal conditions of power switches, i.e. voltage drop in diodes, conductors or controlled switches, the performance of current controller applied in an inverter circuit will considerably affect the ac waveform quality produced by inverter circuit. This paper presents and discusses application of hysteresis current controller in the five-level H-bridge with inductor-cell current source inverter. The current controller performance was compared with the proportional integral current controller. Some test results are presented and discussed to explore the advantages of hysteresis controller in reducing the current ripple and harmonics distortion of output current.","PeriodicalId":38280,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"64368403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Particular attention is paid to the work of the output capacitor of the passive filter, and dependencies for the design of the filter at hysteresis voltage control are presented. The value of the higher harmonics of the current through the filter capacitor is determined. A mathematical relationship between the voltage ripple of the capacitor, its value and the switching frequency is derived. As a result of the advanced research a methodology for designing the output filter of a single-phase serial active power filter has been proposed. The results from computer simulation and experiment are also given.","PeriodicalId":38280,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems","volume":"12 1","pages":"304-313"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"64368471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This method based on negative sequence current of motor and fuzzy neural network algorithm. On the basis of analysis of 2-D electromagnet field in the solid rotor the rotor impedance has been derived to develop the solid rotor induction motor equivalent circuit. The motor equivalent circuit is simulated by MATLAB software to study and record the data for training and testing the proposed diagnosis method. The numerical results of proposed approach are evaluated using simulation of a three-phase high-speed solid-rotor induction motor of two-pole, 140 Hz. Three types of CMC techniques have been discussed, namely current hysteresis control (CHC), constant frequency control (CFC) and average current mode control (ACMC). The performance of the grid tie inverter in the event of grid voltage failure is also studied to help install an anti-islanding mechanism. The proposed control techniques shall eliminate the use of Phase locked loop (PLL) control as the current reference is generated from the grid voltage itself. All three current mode control techniques of an inverter have been simulated in MATLAB/Simulink to evaluate the performance of the designed inverter. The simulated results show a current THD of less than 5% in all three methods and a good anti-islanding response.","PeriodicalId":38280,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems","volume":"12 1","pages":"241-248"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46019959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The farm consists of fifteen (T1-T15) G9 7/2000/GAMESA 2 MW grid-connected turbines. The farm is in operation mode installed 28 km south of Nouakchott city in Mauritania. The analyzed data are monitored from July 1st, 2015 (the first operation day of the power plant) to December 31st, 2019. The parameters of performance evaluation are power generation, capacity factor, machine availability, grid availability, and system availability. It is observed from data analysis, the wind farm supplies a total energy of 507.39 GWh to the power grid and have a high average capacity factor of 42.55%. T1 produces the highest amount of electrical energy among the other turbines with a total energy output of 35.46 GWh, an average capacity factor of 44.97%, and operating hours of 33,814 hours. While T12 produced the minimum amount of energy in this period, the difference in energy compared to T1 is 4.563 GWh. It is observed that the availability of the network is unstable and needs improvement, varying between 90.86% in 2016 and 93.16% in 2018. In the first year of operation, 97.06% of the turbines were available. However, the average availability of the wind farm is approximately 94% during the total study period.","PeriodicalId":38280,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems","volume":"12 1","pages":"532-541"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45431682","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The wind generator used is based on a permanent magnet synchronous wind power generator (PMSG) under varying operation of the wind speed. The proposed T-S fuzzy control strategy aims to maximize wind energy in low wind speed. A part of our contribution lies in the limitation of the power output of the wind generator in high wind speed. Through the concept of the virtual desired variables, the design of the output tracking controller is achieved. In light of this concept, the developed T-S fuzzy control was designed via parallel-distributed compensation (PDC) approach with H ∞ performance. Sufficient conditions for the stability of the closed-loop system affected by external disturbances are proved from Lyapunov’s direct method and the feedback gains of the controller strategy are determined by linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) tools. Another contribution is in showing the robustness of the Takagi-Sugeno based control strategy, with a focus on a set of system parameters with model uncertainties. The simulation results show the high performance of the proposed controller strategy for a 5MW (PMSG) obtained through simulation.","PeriodicalId":38280,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems","volume":"12 1","pages":"585-596"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45169556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
