A lot of work is present for effort estimation in traditional software development but, effort estimation in agile software development (ASD) poses a great research challenge as not much of work is done in this regard. This work proposes a fuzzy approach for effort estimation in ASD environment by identifying first the cost drivers affecting the effort of agile projects and then calculating the effort using fuzzified story point approach. These cost drivers are collected through meetings and by taking a web survey from the companies in Delhi-NCR which practise ASD. Statistical tests are also performed in order to show the dependency of effort on these cost drivers. Here, fuzzy interval type-2 is used which is compared with fuzzy type-1. It is found that, the effort calculated using fuzzy interval type-2 is better than fuzzy type-1.","PeriodicalId":38028,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agile Systems and Management","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1504/ijasm.2020.107902","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42882751","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our goals in this paper are to propose a definition for Ambidextrous supply chains in the field of apparel and to study the three leaders of the industry and identify if they balance their supply chain archetypes in their way to Ambidexterity. The apparel industry is one of the most global and fluctuating industries in the world, and apparel supply chains play a strategic role in the growth of the industry and permanency of the brands through end-consumer responsiveness. An ambidextrous supply chain refers to the ability to maintain daily operations excellence while looking for constant innovation and the ability to keep balance. This balance might be achieved through an ambidextrous supply chain. The three studied cases show how organisations can achieve ambidexterity by managing trade-offs latent in this industry.","PeriodicalId":38028,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agile Systems and Management","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1504/ijasm.2020.107904","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41557371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The learning socio-economic concept can be described as an overarching business model or a paradigm, providing governing principles regarding interests of major stakeholders. The proposed learning organisation structure-behaviour platform can be analysed from the organisational and individual perspective. The proposed concept based on the learning organisation premises can contribute to the development of the social democratic process and welfare so the main social challenge within the learning framework becomes stimulating positive manifestations of cooperation and complexity as well as increasing behavioural variety as a means of fighting entropy. The paper therefore represents an attempt to provide a descriptive and normative guidance for developing a model for modern business making in terms of personal growth, business excellence and social inclusiveness and sustainability.","PeriodicalId":38028,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agile Systems and Management","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1504/ijasm.2020.107899","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47955353","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is significant if, as generally accepted, TD increases the societal value of research. This paper benchmarks TD engineering research against the broader TD literature, addressing the question: How do the characteristics of the academic engineering TD literature compare to the TD academic literature in general? We analyse the chronology, source journals, and text of papers referencing TD within their abstract and compare this to papers that fall within the engineering subject area. The conclusions find that TD research is limited generally, and within engineering specifically. Historically, TD research focuses on sustainability challenges, a persistent trend within the general literature. Within engineering research, the focus of TD is wider and addresses operational and 'grand challenge' problems. TD remains poorly defined and future work should focus on clarifying meaning within the engineering discipline.","PeriodicalId":38028,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agile Systems and Management","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41586612","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To be able to utilise and manage design automation systems over time, it is important to understand how the disciplinary methods and models are dependent on each other through the product model constituents and then how these relations should be built to support maintenance, leveraging and future reuse. Awareness of the concrete representation of relations could support the system's traceability and transparency, and depending on the chosen technique, comprehension and extendability can be affected. This paper presents a conceptual framework for how a set of product model constituents are, can and to some extent, should be extended to define relations in multidisciplinary design automation systems.","PeriodicalId":38028,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agile Systems and Management","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1504/IJASM.2020.105866","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46354811","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study deploys, analytic hierarchy process (AHP), a popular multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) tool as a solution methodology, such that the decision problem breaks into a hierarchy of different levels constituting goal, criteria and alternatives. The results show that there are three enablers namely virtual enterprises, customer satisfaction and adaptability are among the top priority enablers; enabler collaborative relationship is the moderate priority enabler and remaining three enablers i.e., use of information technology, market sensitivity and flexibility are the lowest priority enablers. To effectively implement agility in the supply chain, this study proposes that the manufacturing industries need to focus on the most important ASC enablers and also address the enablers with the least important at a later stage.","PeriodicalId":38028,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agile Systems and Management","volume":" 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141222520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Correspondingly, this paper considers the incorporation of capability profiles (CPs) for FDM as a solution. The evolved requirements of CPs for FDM are considered and the necessary process information that would be incorporated within them is presented. A review of existing literature of the effect of process parameters on mechanical properties of FDM parts identifies process variability and the effects of shape and scale as areas insufficiently studied. To address this, tensile tests are conducted revealing: 1) variation (26%) in identical test specimens' UTS; 2) that properties do not scale linearly with specimen size; 3) that cross-sectional shape directly impacts mechanical performance. These results are used to define the parameters required for a capability profile for FDM and subsequently demonstrate its functionality.","PeriodicalId":38028,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agile Systems and Management","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1504/ijasm.2020.105884","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46844853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
