This kind of intelligent AC contactor has features of intelligentization, controllability, benefiting from combining technologies such as electrical equipment, power electronics, microcomputers and sensors. It becomes a reality to break contacts without arc or with less arc by controlling the intelligent AC contactor, particularly by using zero-current interrupt control technology, leading to energy savings, low operating noise, high electrical span, and high operating frequency. The functions and performance of the AC contactor can be substantially improved and to meet the need of smart grid development. Key technologies such as the accuracy and stability of zero-current interrupt of three-phase contactor are also discussed in this paper. It is thus necessary to clarify the breakdown mechanism in a vacuum. It is well-known that these characteristics are influenced by the electrode material and its surface condition[1][2], but the breakdown mechanism has not been clarified. This paper presents measurements of breakdown characteristics and observations of a cross-section after electron beam irradiation. The results are compared with those for no electron beam irradiation. It is thus shown that the breakdown voltage of a CuCr electrode after electron beam irradiation is higher than that for no electron beam irradiation. Between two contact-tips, there is a point of contact that is a very small area. Therefore, a current between a fixed-tip and operative-tip flows through a very small area, which is the point of contact. Then, due to current concentration, magnetic flux density between two contact-tips produces the electromagnetic repulsion force. Because repulsion force can improve interrupting ability of MCCB, it is important to analyze the electromagnetic repulsion force, which occurs between two contacts. To analyze electromagnetic repulsion force, the Finite Element Method (hereafter FEM) is adapted. Further, through the interrupting test, correlation between repulsion force and interrupting ability was confirmed. Firstly, the multi-objective particle swarm algorithm was proposed and used in the global optimization of cylinder linear induction motor according to its characteristic. Secondly, the mathematical model of multi-objective optimization algorithm was established based on the grain of subgroup algorithm, and the programs were compiled by using the Matlab engineering calculation tool, at the same time the visual interface was developed. Finally, the results indicated that the multi-objective optimization design is obviously better than the single optimization design. The thrust are increased, the structure and size of motor are also reduced. MFA overcomes the limit use of Permanent Magnetic Actuator(PMA) in long length stroke circuit breaker and is beneficial to realize fast-adjust of electrical control. To complete dynamic simulation of MFA, Ansys needs to calculate the magnetic flux linkage and magnetic force in the dynamic process, and this needs to interface with Matlab. And the variations of the cold flow field parameters in arc-quenching chamber with different nozzles have been obtained using finite volume method (FVM) during the interrupting. The influences of blade contour on the gas flow parameters, such as velocity, pressure-temperature ratio and pressure are analyzed by changing the angle, number and the height of the blade. The potential distributions and the electric field distributions interior vacuum interrupters of four models, including single pole prototype without supporting structure, single pole prototype with supporting structure, double poles prototype with supporting structure, three phases double poles prototype with supporting structure were analyzed with the established finite element models. The calculated results indicate that, under U-shaped arrangement, the static voltage distributions of the triple-break vacuum circuit breaker are non-uniform. The static voltage distribution of the high voltage break is more than 65%, and suitable voltage grading measures are needed.
