Firmly believing that care integration is integral to health quality and efficiency of the healthcare system, the Ontario government has embarked on its journey of healthcare system transformation. The case, by taking a snapshot of its transition from the Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) model to the Ontario Health Team model, offers insights into the governance of the LHIN model as well as the initiative of integrating a myriad of healthcare information systems to support care integration. After 12 years’ controversial operation of LHINs, the government dissolved the organization and announced its plan to switch to the Ontario Health Team model. Under the new model, Ontario Health Teams would be responsible for providing a full and coordinated spectrum of care for patients, especially those with complex care needs. Would this round of transformation and emphatic focus on digital health lead Ontario one step closer to integrated care that Ontarians have been chasing for so long?","PeriodicalId":37921,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Information Technology Teaching Cases","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76345795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This case has emphasized its uniqueness and the strategies they used to become successful. All information has been collected through secondary sources. It is a two-sided marketplace; truck owners/drivers and shippers. Fortunately, “Truck Lagbe” has made life much easier for truck drivers/owners or those who hire trucks, enabled coordination, reduced controversy in the whole process from truck hire to payment, and improved efficiency and flexible price through bidding. “Truck Lagbe” offers three categories of services: B2C, business solution, and enterprise solution. B2C or individual customers are those who may have rented a truck for once to shift their home or to carry small items or goods, usually for one time. The business solution category is where the pickup location will be the same, but the delivery location may be different, or the pickup location is the same, but delivery in different regions. Finally, an enterprise solution is a solution where a fixed account manager offers a variety of advice to the particular business owner, such as VAT, AIT and Tax, and a minimum of 10 business purpose truck rental agreements be fixed. In short, “Truck Lagbe” is a platform where “a single click will move anything.”","PeriodicalId":37921,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Information Technology Teaching Cases","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80476868","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The capital that supported the initial activity of the company was derived from family investments. The company has an efficient business model and gains a competitive advantage by setting up its primary objectives and strategies, which position it for success. PnP aims to deliver its products within 4–8 h of an order, which is the fastest rate among existing delivery companies. The parcels are picked up from the end customers and delivered to the recipient company’s main hub. From there, the parcel is sent to the final recipient with the help of the PnP app. This approach streamlines the process, and the time involved is very minimal. The business model of this fast-moving company was new and unique. The case study highlights how effectively PnP capitalizes on the vast network of dabbawalas (lunchbox deliverymen) in Mumbai who use the PnP app.","PeriodicalId":37921,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Information Technology Teaching Cases","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82794119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This case aims to explore the effects of camera surveillance on individual behaviour at the workplace. We observe that we unconsciously tend to modify our natural behaviour into a designed one as required by the camera, what is called prosocial behaviour. Workplace surveillance has many advantages and applications for theft detection and employee discipline. However, it also impacts employees who may not be enacting deviant behaviour at the workplace. This issue needs to be addressed, as it can affect not only psychological behaviours leading to unseen disorders, but also productivity at the workplace.","PeriodicalId":37921,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Information Technology Teaching Cases","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79259608","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The case starts when Roger, the HR General Manager of Ford Motor Company Thailand, and his team decided to develop a BI-based integrated Team Leader Recruitment System for not only selecting the right candidates for the job but developing them into great team leaders for Ford production line as well. The team started discussing its current evaluation criteria, such as the score from its production system exam, the results of a case study and roleplay exam, and the final interview score, and then dove into more factors that helped create insights into the value of Ford employees. Employee Lifetime Value (ELTV) was then introduced, along with some other factors such as IQ and EQ scores and Myers Briggs Psychological Type Indicator (MBTI) scores. Finally, the team developed a BI dashboard that gathered all relevant factors to evaluate its final five candidates: Tom, James, Andy, Jonas, and Tony. The dashboard also displayed each candidate’s individual KPIs and the departmental and corporate KPIs they contributed to. Indexes measuring the candidate’s job satisfaction, workplace culture, and leadership and teamwork skills were also included as important factors for selecting the right candidates.","PeriodicalId":37921,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Information Technology Teaching Cases","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83139489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
