Our rule-based system uses IEC 61131 program organization units to formulate the rules as blueprints of the intended network of function blocks, functions or programs. Hence, the engineer can develop in his preferred programming language, but instead of writing out the implementation of each instance in full, he develops a single blueprint representation of the intended context. The paper gives an overview of the implementation requirements for this approach and reviews the advantages and problems of an integrated rule-based system. Finally, we adapt this concept to implement a rule-based version of flow path analysis in an piping system. On the base of the implemented example, we demonstrate the feasibility of the presented concept. Hence the emergence of the concept of services offered through maintenance architectures, ranging from autonomic systems to integrated systems where knowledge management, cooperation and collaboration are vital to any operation. Into this context, new services like intelligent maintenance, self maintenance, etc are required. To this end, a new concept called s-maintenance is emerged. This concept defines a new generation of maintenance systems founded on a knowledge based system. While existing systems don't respond to the characteristics of this new generation of systems, we design in this paper an architecture of a maintenance component based system respecting the characteristics of s-maintenance. Reports about service technician's activities are stored in maintenance histories. Manufacturers of such equipment would benefit significantly from analysis of recorded maintenance and fault histories for planning of maintenance activities, offering scalable service contracts and finding reasons for product faults. This paper introduces a methodology that supports the interpretation of the maintenance histories to allow the manufacturers the analysis and optimization of maintenance operations. The methodology interprets the maintenance histories as sequences of events, containing meaningful patterns. Tailored data mining algorithms are applied, that provide causality details going beyond the results of standard techniques. The parallel single instruction, multiple data (SIMD) architecture is effectively exploited by performing various optimizations to expose the algorithmic parallelism. The work addresses particularly the realization of the Gaussian calculation, a key function. The result is an implementation that runs 3.75 faster than real-time and gives a tenfold speedup when compared to a highly optimized sequential CPU-based implementation. The new tool accounts with the non autonomous nature of the IOPT Petri net class, where transition firing is constrained by external input events and input signals (expressed in transition guards); on the other hand, transitions can trigger the occurrence of output signal events and place marking can activate output signals. To achieve the performance level necessary for the fast generation of complex state-spaces during reasonable time, the tool employs a compilation strategy, starting with the automatic creation of an optimized C program. When executed, the program will create an hierarchical XML file containing the state-space graph. The output XML file can subsequently be used for model checking and property analysis, applying standard XML query languages. Finally, the output file can be converted to SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics), enabling the graphical visualization of small to medium size state-space graphs. Firstly we understand that human rights are rights that humans have by the fact of being human, and which are neither created nor can be abrogated by any governmental institution. These include cultural, economic, and political rights, such as right to life, liberty, education and equality before law, and right of association, belief, free speech, information, religion, movement, and nationality. Secondly, of course, we know that transparency means that something can be seen through. When we talk about transparency in police stations, we mean that citizens must be able to \"see through\" its workings. A police that is not transparent is more prone to corruption and undue influence because there is no public oversight of decision making. Thirdly we mention that individual performance evaluation is generally not well developed in police departments. The most common practice consists of an annual or semiannual subjective rating form filled out by police supervisors, where persons are rated with respect to global categories such as initiative and appearance. Many departments make no effort to assess performance at all. The self-protectiveness of the police subculture and the fact that little concrete depends on the evaluations mean that many departments have abandoned them, or they have become empty rituals, where almost everyone's performance is rated as satisfactory. This paper presents an environment that facilities police performance evaluation. Since their appearance, dataflow models became too focused and specialized in their target applications. The paper presents a set of translating mechanisms allowing the mapping from dataflow models into Petri nets. This mapping allows taking advantage of Petri nets well-known properties verification capabilities and enriching dataflow models concerning scheduler information and resource allocation. This allows one to find out some hidden embedded features (model semantics and syntax) not normally addressed in dataflow analysis tools, which is briefly characterized. Dataflow model translation into Petri net domain give support to attain the required resource allocation under dataflow static scheduling list. This scheme allows one to make conclusion in Petri net domain to be applied in dataflow models to foresee the necessary amount of storage resources for each arc. A simulation approach, based upon a mathematical model of the induction motor, for tuning the controllers of the systems is presented. Experimental researches developed upon a two axes motion control system, both axes being driven by alternating current asynchronous motors were also performed in order to test the proposed strategies.
