It provides unique opportunities to automate the printing process, enhance productivity, and better utilize resources such as equipment, servers and IT infrastructure. In this work, we present a unified solution approach to solve an important optimization problem in digital printing, viz., simultaneous mapping of component tasks of a print job to time steps (scheduling), selection of resources for these tasks, and mapping of tasks to resources (binding). We model print jobs, the relationships between them, and dependencies between tasks within a job, in terms of sequencing graphs. This formal representation is then used for scheduling and resource binding. The optimization objective is to enable justin-time manufacturing, that is, to minimize both the slack time (the duration between the delivery deadline and the completion time of the order) and the opportunity cost for job orders. The proposed approach uses genetic algorithms (GA) to systematically search the space of feasible solutions. The fitness function of the GA is carefully crafted to match the optimization objective. An integer linear programming (ILP) model is described to evaluate the GA heuristic by deriving optimal solutions for small problem instances. A hardware accelerator for C function calls was embedded in a processor core and its impact on area and performance was evaluated. Results show that the accelerator offers a performance improvement in several different processor configurations. In this paper, we propose an innovative approach to control the uptime of the nodes of an Industrial WSN using a fuzzy based algorithm. In a scenario of process control is not possible to separate power energy management from the need to ensure respect for real-time constraints imposed by the application such as deadline miss values of periodic traffic flows. The mechanism here described takes into account the timing requirements of the soft real-time application and, at the same time, minimizes energy consumption. Therefore the aim of this paper is to show how, using a fuzzy logic controller, implemented in an industrial WSN, it is possible increasing the life cycle of the batteries of the individual wireless nodes and by exerting continuous control on energy consumption of individual nodes and on network performance, by adapting in a dynamic way the sampling period of traffic flows of the WSN. For future purposes there is a strong demand to make products more intelligent by extending the limited RFID identification technology. We propose in this paper an Autonomous Product Memory. This autonomous object requests, analyzes, evaluates, and stores data of the complete product life cycle and is also able to control parts of it. We introduce an architecture for integrating data in product memories and controlling parts of the surrounding infrastructure. Our contribution encompasses software modules for a uniform sensor access, a sensor data ontology, and an infrastructure for product memory applications. For this purpose, we developed a controlled real-world environment to overcome common problems such as self-localization. Furthermore, we elaborated a concept for a descriptive robotic real-world game. One aspect of such social data analysis is based on demographic and/or economic data. In this paper, we apply data mining techniques to find the characteristics of people living in the south of USA. The data used in our study is the WAGE2 data set with 935 observations that has been used in some previous social study research. The software tool SAS Enterprise Miner was used to analyze the data, particularly the regression and decision tree models. Process choreographies are characterized by a chain of single processes. The progress state of the whole process chain and each of its components is regarded as an important information to gather. This paper depicts a general method for monitoring process choreographies. The described approach is based on unified process instance log structure. A system architecture to enable monitoring in a decentralized network is introduced as well. It uses common web service technologies to log execution data and to supervise the process chains. It therefore can be integrated into any business process execution environment.
