The tasks in the app were based on real echolocation tests performed by blind and sighted volunteers as part of the Echovis research project and primarily consisted of guessing the direction and distance to a small wall at distances from one to three meters. The sounds in the app come from binaural recordings and artificial renders using DearVR and custom directional echo filters. The developed Waypoint Acousitic Stimulation (WAS) algorithm allows to render spatial room echoes with the computational power of a mobile processor. The WAS algorithm was also used to create renders of more complex training scenes, such as an office building through which a player could navigate using echoes. The transformation is based on the Higher Order Singular Value Decomposition HOSVD methodology and the generated linear time-invariant (LTI) vertex systems describe the nonlinear model. The aim of the paper is to investigate that selecting and varying the transformation space and weighting functions have influence on the feasibility regions of LMI based observer and controller. The paper gives a comparison between the controller and observer performance. Classical methods to prevent intrusion are often destructive to wild and domestic animals alike. Even more current nondestructive systems, like camera-based systems are attributed to specific problems related to environmental or technological issues. Furthermore, verifying the effectiveness of installed systems is difficult, as the triggering situations are unmanageable and typically occur unsupervised. This paper presents a complex vision-based intrusion detection system to overcome these problems and further proposes more extensive control and flexibility on the development process. The solution provides a workflow integrating Digital Reality methods into the system development by creating a digital twin of the drone and its surrounding environment in a general-purpose robotic simulator. With this simulation, the triggering events and environmental effects can be easily emulated, such as a wild animal entering the area of interest. The proposed metaheuristic approach is loosely based on the previously published technique, the Weighted Attraction Method. The main idea behind the proposed algorithm is the combination the local searching capabilities of the swarm movement-based metaheuristics and quasi-random global search. The quasi-random search technique applied is a novel concept, described as focus logic. The explosion step of the Weighted Attraction Method is modified in a way, that allows a wider area search preventing the algorithm to stuck at a local minimum point for multiple optimization cycles. The behavior of the proposed approach is similar, as the human eye observes its environment. It focuses on a specific area, while the peripheral vision is still giving information about the surrounding area. The proposed method can be applied to solve problems described by a continuous, moderately smooth objective functions rapidly. An objective function with such parameters can be found in any research field, from antenna design through model parameter identifications to Internet of Digital Reality (IoD) applications. In the first chapter the paper introduces the reader to the field of metaheuristic optimizations. The second chapter presents the detailed algorithmic structure of the proposed approach and describes the parameters that could be used to fine tune the behavior of the optimization process. More recently, applications focused on socio-cultural contexts, such as caretaking and personal assistance, have begun to gain traction. In parallel, earlier focus on mechanical and mathematical/control solutions has visibly shifted toward aspects of intelligent and collaborative functions. These changes have brought various aspects of the fields of cognitive infocommunications (CogInfoCom) and Internet of Digital Reality (IoD) to the forefront, both in terms of design methodologies and application areas. While CogInfoCom places emphasis on new kinds of cognitive capabilities / entities that are neither purely human, nor purely artificial, IoD highlights the integration of such capabilities and entities in networked settings created to support specific semantic contexts. Importantly, the scope of such capabilities and/or entities is not limited only to intelligent agents and collaborating humans but also to less capable agents (e.g., cyber-physical and industrial control devices). In a socio-cultural context, the interaction between a robot and other agents (particularly a human) can be viewed as the communication of cognitive entities through some form of Cognitive Infocommunication channels. According to the results, by using the Gear VR, significantly better rates of correct answers can be achieved in the case of females, left-handed, or older students. The rates of correct answers are also better on the Purdue Spatial Visualization Test with the Gear VR. The design of virtual environments positively affects the probabilities of correct answers on the spatial ability tests. This set-up consists of a perspective camera rotated either −45°, 0°, or 45°, with a contrast ratio of 1.5:1 or 3:1 while using a head-mounted display device. In addition, the probability of correct answers and test completion times are not independent and the latter is significantly affected by the used display device, type of test, and gender of the user.
