Thus, a philosophical and theoretical consideration of these concepts is needed. This article uses phenomenological hermeneutics to discuss games, play, and gamification; it also addresses the development of gamifying planes within gamification studies. It hypothesizes that the academic discussion of gamification becomes more valid, ontologically, by focusing on the phenomenon and lived experience of play and playing from a phenomenological perspective. It presents an upcoming practical intervention, an empirical research design of case study of playing a virtual game, to demonstrate how the essence of play and the integrated spheres of virtual and real worlds could be approached. Thus, it could provide valuable information that is needed in the fast-developing domain of interventions in gamification and the game-business. On the basis of this study's theoretical findings, a broader ontological notion is suggested to overcome the subjectifying notion of player and the objectifying notion of games and play.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. Studies on health care and medical education have shown that more research on triggering situations is needed to examine these reflections. In this study, the professionals' responses are evaluated using reflection theory and its strategies from a game theory perspective. The data from the cross-sectional study were analyzed using qualitative data analysis and quantitative statistical methods (N=245). Four types of patient complaints were analyzed: malpractice, communication, information, and procedures. They were evaluated as reflective targets and strategies that could be used to solve patient complaints. Information plays a central role in the choice of strategies. The results of this study may benefit the development and implementation of gamification strategies for the patient complaint process. Further research on patient complaints is needed to investigate the factors that impact the health care professionals' responses.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Innov. Digit. Humour has been investigated intensively in marketing, especially in advertising, yet there is little knowledge of the challenges and opportunities in online marketing faced by practitioners. This study analyses key studies conducted in the context of a unique case: a Finnish research project exploring humour as a strategic tool for companies. These studies can provide emerging insights of humour in online marketing which are relevant for practitioners: humour as a transformational appeal, individual differences related to humour appreciation, role of storytelling and playfulness in blogging and challenges related to use of humour such as credibility.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. International studies indicate that leadership competence gaps are large and traditional leadership training methods does not seem to solve this problem. This article's findings supports this situation. The authors will open the complexity behind organizational productivity development and present game theoretical architecture that simulates management behavior effects to human performance. New methods enable practice-based learning that enables formatting leaders' behavior so that it will create long-term success with continuous change. The authors will present gamified leadership training procedure and discuss the practical learning experiences from a management simulation game. The authors' study reveals challenges at interactive leadership skills, thus, it is argued, that there seems to be problems at the leadership mind-set. Therefore, more sophisticated learning methods and tools should be used.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Innov. Digit. Nonetheless, governmental gamification still remains an understudied area, despite the practical governmental gamification initiatives already taking place, facing increased implementation risks from the lack of guiding implementation principles. Such risks and lack of unified guidelines for governmental gamification necessitates the examination of governmental gamification from the perspective of existing knowledge to synthesize key knowledge fathered on its implementation. This article examines existing research in order to provide guidelines for applying gamification in government services. By using a combination of research on gamification in civic engagement and the Gamified Service Framework of Klapztein and Cipolla, the article creates a basic roadmap for recognizing factors that need to be considered when applying gamification techniques and methods in government services and the public sector in general.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. One of the effects of global technological changes and digitalization of consumer experience was the development of a new form of trade and property relations – a share economy. Reorientation of consumer behavior from purchasing to sharing, exclusion of intermediaries from a “client – contractor” chain, strengthening the role of online reputation and self-regulation of the community to ensure the quality of services revolutionize a business model in many areas. Digital share economies will evolve and transform over the next few years. In this regard, it becomes important to study the essence, principles of functioning, and development of new business models.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Innov. Digit. A sample of 353 students from various universities in Saudi Arabia completed a survey questionnaire for data collection. Results showed that user experience is a significant predictors of student adoption and post-adoption of an e-learning recommender system. Based on these findings, this study concluded that universities must support students to develop their awareness of, and skills in using an e-learning recommender system to support students' long-term acceptance and use of the system.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. However, it is very unevenly distributed across countries, regions, cities and neighborhoods. The aim of this article is to investigate why collaborative consumption takes off early and continues flourishing in some regions, while remaining almost non-existent in other regions. The extant literature provides some insights into the effect of demand-side factors on sharing economy. However, this literature largely neglects the role of supply. Informed by the innovation adaption literature, the present study seeks to address this gap. The analysis reveals that regions with a) well-developed tourism industry, b) relatively large number of available properties, and c) situated near the main tourist attractions, tend to have relatively large supply of Airbnb listings and relatively many Airbnb tourists. An early adoption of Airbnb services is also associated with availability of properties to rent out.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Innov. Digit. A systematic literature review was conducted to shade light on the current status of the research in this area with a focus on the research goals, research design, research strategies, scientific theories used and research methods. Major databases indexing reputable journals in information systems and e-government area were searched by using keywords to collect relevant articles for analysis. A total of 19 articles were identified which indicated that empirical studies with survey as research strategy and questionnaires as a data collection method dominates the publications list while the use of case studies as research strategy was found to be scarce. The review has also highlighted several limitations related to the choice of research methods and its implication on furthering the understanding of the research on this topic.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int.
