We show that laser-induced surface modifications enhance significantly the absorptivity due to nano-, micro-, macro-structures produced by ablation. At a sufficiently high fluence and large number of applied pulses the absorptance of ablated platinum surface can reach a value close to 100%. The absorptivity enhancement caused by surface structural modifications produced by ablation in vacuum is greater then that in air","PeriodicalId":370622,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Workshop on Laser and Fiber-Optical Networks Modeling","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127920973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although there are many reports on the models of XeCl-laser, for an analysis having clear physical sense it is useful to have a simplified kinetic model. According to the solutions of Boltzmann equation for electrons in constant electrical field and calculation of kinetic processes, the major chemical species and kinetic processes were taken into account in our simplified kinetic model. The model enables to calculate an electrons concentration, density of excimer XeCl molecules, specific energy deposition in active medium, and power of generation.
