Through a journey in the imaginary between East and West, an attempt will be made to identify female educational models in cultures, which can be deduced from the study of some significant icons. Barbie, Sharazade, Alyssa are not only characters of stories, myths, legends or playful objects, but convey, through their own “specificity”, a model to follow, pointing to young girls and adolescents– but also to their male counterpart– their belonging not only of gender, but also of culture. What is the specificity of this belonging? What emerges from the comparison between such icons and models? The imaginary inherent in feminine icons reveals an “issue of identity” which allows us to grasp the deep meaning of gender belonging, as a product of one’s own culture, meaning that we can fully understand only through comparison with otherness.","PeriodicalId":366273,"journal":{"name":"Ricerche di Pedagogia e Didattica. The article starts from the data collected through a regional mapping ofeducational projects carried in Sicily concerning the cultivation of soil. A good part of this database - the 49 surveyed schools - constitutes the textual sub-corpus analyzed in this contribution. We will use some quantitative techniques developed in the context of textual analysis, a methodology for semiosis of the text widely practiced not only in linguistic field, but also in the cultural studies. By analyzing the most recurrent morphemes, their contexts of use and their network of co-occurrences, we will propose a (necessarily personal)interpretation of the meanings attributable to some key concepts and to their reciprocal most frequently featured relationships.","PeriodicalId":366273,"journal":{"name":"Ricerche di Pedagogia e Didattica. Worldwide educational policies advocate the promotion of CT, and researchers across different fields have been involved in a wide debate on its definition, without reaching an agreement. Currently, research has not adequately addressed CT assessment, nor the way in which it should be taught. In the present work, an overview of the topic is provided, as well as an evaluation of the practices, in order to provide researchers or practitioners (particularly those involved in primary school education) a reference for the development of further theories and methods about CT in education. We consider CT from the perspective of philosophy, cognitive psychology, and education sciences, and in addition, we propose the inclusion of a fourth, which could be referred as socio-cultural pedagogic perspective, due to its important implications in teaching and assessment practices.","PeriodicalId":366273,"journal":{"name":"Ricerche di Pedagogia e Didattica. Books for children, both through words and pictures, may be a stimulating form of art to present migrants’ experience to young readers and to promote social and cultural diversity. In particular, the study explores six picturebooks presenting the story of some migrants, investigating the strategies used by authors and illustrators to show and tell ‘different’ experiences to their audiences. The selected books have been published in Italy in the last decade and offer touching and stimulating experiences that may enhance intercultural reflection starting from literature.","PeriodicalId":366273,"journal":{"name":"Ricerche di Pedagogia e Didattica. The article presents an exploratory study run within the course “Educational Technologies” of the three-year degree for social educators’ training. The study aims at investigating (1) the impact of service-learning approach on the development of purpose and (2) the transformative role of a prosocial task developed through a digital storytelling design. Students were, in fact, actively engaged in the design and creation of a short video artefact linked with a specific social context in which they have chosen to apply for their forthcoming internship. The video artefact should represent the outcome of a synergic effort of both class peers and the territory actors since students were encouraged to actively interact with community beneficiaries and their educators.","PeriodicalId":366273,"journal":{"name":"Ricerche di Pedagogia e Didattica.
