The ozone technology fish storage system (OTFIS) can be applied in the fishing boat, fish storage in the Fish Auction Market, fish storage in the means transport for fish. In this research, we produced a prototype that was integrated by the fish container and ozone generator. We used Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma (DBDP) technology for ozone generator. The characterization of ozone generator has been carried out and showed that ozone generator can produce ozone concentration from 0.5 ppm to 12 ppm. The ozone concentration in the area is very suitable to be used in food technology. The ozone treatment was performed on red tilapia representing the white-fleshed fish with ozone concentrations from 0.5 ppm to 4.5 ppm. The results of this treatment showed that organoleptic and TVBN of fish were still appropriate with Indonesian National Standard (INS). Beside that, TPC testing has been done on the red tilapia showed that the higher the ozone concentration the smaller the remaining of bacteria colonies. Similarly, for a variable of time, the longer the exposure to ozone the less the remaining of colonies. The results of this study have been adapted to realize of OTFIS with a size of 50 cm × 50 cm × 100 cm (250 liters) and can accommodate as much as 100 kg of fish.","PeriodicalId":364834,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies","volume":"467 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120934145","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the more significant findings to emerge from this review is that most studies in CSR have been carried out in developed countries and there is a paucity of such studies in developing countries. The second obvious finding is that the experimental findings are quite controversial, and there is no universal agreement about the actual impact of CSR on firm performance. This is because while the positive relationship between CSR and firm performance has been obtained in many studies, some studies have still found a negative or neuter relationship. Review of the related literature on CSR and performance leads us to establish a third conclusion, which is that the majority of studies have focused only on the monetary aspects of firm performance in measuring overall performance, and non-monetary aspects have been disregarded. Taken together, the lack of study in developing countries, lack of a comprehensive approach to firm performance, and inconclusiveness among findings create enough ground for future empirical studies on CSR and firm performance. Accordingly, based on the suggested association of these factors, this paper proposes a model that links CSR to both financial and non-financial performance for future empirical research which will be carried out in Malaysia as a developing country.","PeriodicalId":364834,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies","volume":"22 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120988607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, this study aims to investigate these issues among the firms in Indonesia by using a dynamic model. This study finds that Indonesian firms do employ target capital structure which is influenced by certain firm characteristics like profitability, business risk, firm size and liquidity in their capital structure and they also time their security issuance. Being deviated from target from time to time these firms partially adjust indicating a support for the dynamic trade-off theory. There are also influences of the pecking order and the market timing theories in the capital structure decisions of these firms. This study contributes to the literature by offering insights of the capital structure practice and the adjustment speed to target capital structure of firms in Indonesia and fill the gap in the literature.","PeriodicalId":364834,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121849795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, recently, concerns have been increasing, especially in developing countries, as to how to simplify the submission of a request for an E-Government service and how to link these requests to build an online application without asking the citizen to input the data more than once or run around to submit their information in person. Thus, the challenge for the Government in this situation is to provide an e-system which is fast and simple for the citizen to use. This research proposes a method for simplifying the information retrieval process from the E-Government system. This method uses Natural Language Processing (NLP), concept indexing and data integration methods for data analyzing and building. To assist the retrieval of information, the government concept is used to match everyday language to the formal language which is used in the government's E-Documents. As well, the mapping is based on the enriched citizen's requests to structure a multi-layered E-Document. To demonstrate its usefulness, we applied our methodology to sample data of an online request for a vehicle registration procedure.","PeriodicalId":364834,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies","volume":"24 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127647032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the algorithm proposed is called Orthogonal-Diamond Search (ODS) which employs an orthogonal-shaped search pattern in the first step and then is switched into diamond-shaped search pattern for the next step. The proposed algorithm and several established algorithms namely Three Step Search (TSS), New-Three-Step Search (NTSS), Four-Step Search (4SS), Diamond Search (DS) and Hexagon-Diamond Search (HDS) are implemented using MATLAB and their performance are being compared and analyzed in terms of number of search point, peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and computational complexity. Simulation result show that the proposed algorithm can find motion vector with fever number of search points while maintains close performance of video quality with other selected algorithms.","PeriodicalId":364834,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122848189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The tax compliance costs ratio analysis in terms of their computational-planning components is provided. The computational and planning ratio was 74:26, indicating that major components of compliance costs relate to tax computation work. This study therefore concluded that most of the tax compliance costs burden for Malaysian Public Listed Companies (PLCs) was related to routine income tax returns activity. Comparative findings with existing studies provide further contributions to corporate tax knowledge, tax administration and practices.","PeriodicalId":364834,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129792048","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This form of disability may originate from cerebellar disease, stroke, spinal injury, cardiac disease or other general conditions that may bring about such disorder. Studies have shown that one's mobility may be improved with continuous locomotor activity. Traditional rehabilitation therapy is deemed labour as well as cost intensive. Rehabilitation robotics has been explored to address the drawbacks of conventional rehabilitation therapy and the increasing demand for gait rehabilitation. This paper presents a simple yet decent technique in the control and actuation of a new Dynamic Ankle-Foot Orthosis (DAFO) designed to rehabilitate the dorsiflexion and plantarflexion motion of the ankle. The DAFO is equipped with two force sensitive resistors (FSR), which act as a limit switch controlling the actuation of the DC motor to a certain dorsiflexion/plantarflexion motion according to the gait phases detected. The results show that the two FSR sensors are sufficient to detect gait phases and act as limit switches to control the actuation of the ankle DC motors, and thus proving the potential of the current system and design for future application.","PeriodicalId":364834,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126617899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, a global filter design method for polynomial discrete-time systems by using SOS-SDP based is established without any assumptions about nonlinear terms of the error dynamics. In our work, to ensure a convex solution to the filter design problem can be obtained, an integrator is incorporated into the filter structure. This paper provides a potential solution to the filter design problem for polynomial discrete-time systems. Unfortunately, the price we pay is the computational burden due to a very large SDP size yields from the proposed method.
