This study analyses a main case study given by Italy, one of the first European countries to be damaged of the impact of COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, this study focuses on health policy responses to the pandemic crisis across selected Italian regions that were the first areas to experience a rapid increase in confirmed cases and deaths of COVID-19. The analysis of early regional health policies, from January to July 2020 (during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic), reveals that some regions have managed pandemic crisis with appropriate health policy responses based on: a) a timely and widespread testing of individuals, b) effective units of epidemiological investigation in a pervasive contact-tracing system to detect and isolate all infected people. This health policy response has reduced total deaths and negative effects of COVID-19 on health of people during the first pandemic wave, when are not available pharmaceutical interventions, such as vaccines and other antiviral drugs. This evidence in the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic provides important lessons to design an effective public health policy to constraint future pandemic waves driven by new variants and new viral agents, when appropriate drugs are not ready.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"296 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122191331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are tools to prevent corruption. Transparency and accountability are twin requirements in managing school financial resources. Transparency as a requirement ensures that sound and efficient utilization of resources is maintained while transparency makes opportunity for greater accountability. The study looks into the behavior of school heads on how they manage financial resources of their schools using the parameters of transparency and accountability. The locale of the study is in the province of Nueva in the Philippines. The findings showed that most school heads and finance staff possess graduate-level educational qualification and experienced financial managers. The least accountability parameter of the respondents is in the domain of asset management while it showed the least scores for transparency domain in the area of budgeting. School financial managers encountered challenges which include policy-related procedures, differences in the market prices of supplies and equipment against the programmed budget, and limited opportunities for seminars/trainings regarding school financial management. The late release of budget allocation to schools, lack of adequate skilled manpower essential for effective budget utilization, engagement of school management on different duties, lack of planning and performance of school activities together with stakeholders and interferences of school principals are among the critical challenges that may render ineffective financial resource utilization in secondary schools.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115269445","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The absence of the basic needs has forced the children to take to the streets where they feel they have better opportunities to survive in their impoverished state. This situation may have made these children vulnerable to risks such as exposure to vice activities as well as victimisation. One of the ways to survive challenges of the street life is to make friends with other street children and in some instances, the children become part of a larger group or syndicate. To address the challenges faced by street children, the study investigates the influence the street peers may have on the children’s behaviour. A total of 12 marketplaces in Khartoum State and its three municipalities, namely, Khartoum, Omdurman, and North Khartoum (Bahri), were selected in the current study as these localities have large numbers of street children. Using geographical clusters of the areas, followed by a systematic sampling technique, 330 street children were chosen as the sample size of the study. The questionnaire survey was used to obtain data from the respondents, the data collected in 2017. The data analysis tool used SPSS 22. The study reveals that street children in Khartoum take part in varying kinds of maladaptive behaviours and peer influence is found to be the determinant of these behaviours. The study suggests that targeted interventions by social welfare agencies and non-profit organisations should be made to ensure the safety and future of these children.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121080222","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper is oriented to a specific point: impact the unemployment and welfare variables on the total crimes (violent and property) in the United States of America. Much attention is given to the stationarity analysis and then to the cointegration analysis using the ARDL / Bounds testing Methodology proposed by Pesaran, Shin and Smith (PSS). Two long-term equilibrium relationships were identified and an interpretation of the results was performed. Both relationships have been validated and the Error Correction Model (ECM) is built. The results show that the adjustment speeds towards equilibrium are  in the case of Unrestricted intercept and no trend, and  in the case of Unrestricted intercept and trend.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133319597","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The restructuring was caused by two factors, namely the existence of SOEs that suffered losses and to focus the government's capital participation on SOEs that still existed. This study aims to analyze the existence of PT. Nusantara Bonded Zone as one of the SOEs in Indonesia. The analysis can be seen from the aspects of regulation, budget, and management. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. Data obtained from interviews with parties who have the capacity to manage PT. Nusantara Bonded Zone. Therefore, the technique of determining informants in this study was purposive sampling. The results showed that the existence of PT. Nusantara Bonded Zone can exist as a SOES in Indonesia by implementing Good Corporate Governance in management aspects, sustainable government funding to improve its financial performance, as well as regulations that accommodate its flexibility as a business entity.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130136647","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Managerial implications related to the Islamic leadership style, leaders are considered to need to develop an attitude to attract the attention of employees who have been felt weak by employees. With regard to affective commitment, systematic indicators for improving employee performance are through perceptions of organizational support, paying attention to employee complaints, organizational pride, and organizational concern, and increasing appreciation for the extra efforts of employees. In relation to the performance of human resources, there is a need for appreciation and a relationship with good management.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"282 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122950022","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Historically, charcoal was used to fuel cooking, ironing, and other household tasks. Mangrove trees are used as a raw material in the manufacture of charcoal. Mangrove trees are the primary source of charcoal because of their high density, which makes them more durable than other trees. Economically, charcoal production can boost the economy and human welfare. On the other hand, the production of charcoal affects environmental degradation. Several locations where charcoal is produced are called “charcoal kitchens.” Charcoal kitchens in several locations are no longer manufactured, rendering them obsolete. The charcoal kitchen is unique in its shape and even represents a technological advance for its time. Therefore, it is regrettable if the structure that bears witness to past technological advancement is abandoned and fails to benefit current and future generations. This study employs a descriptive-qualitative method with a rationalistic approach. This method is based on a holistic approach, which examines a general concept through the lens of a specific object and then incorporates the findings into the general concept. According to this study, a concept for utilizing the remaining charcoal kitchen structures and protecting mangrove forests through culture and nature-based tourism villages is required. The government’s development of facilities, as well as intensive promotion, are required. Additionally, community empowerment is essential to sustainably manage the remaining charcoal kitchen structures and mangrove forests.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"5 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131550992","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, selected institutions in Britain were made the flagship of comparison with Nigeria, to discover the pattern of similarities and differences that can help to retool Nigeria’s public institution for better effective service delivery. It was discovered that good governance and public service delivery would be unimpressive due to the weakness of Nigeria's institutions that have been perverted by corruption, selfish idiosyncrasies of leadership, ethno linguistic sentiments, and lawlessness among other challenges which are not entrenched in Britain.
