Therefore, thefarming and consumption of edible insects are seen as an essential tool in improving the animal nutrient supply in the country.This study therefore aimed at identifying the competencies required in the production of edible insects to train the students of Vocational Agricultural Education (VAE) for considerable economic empowerment post graduation. Thisstudy adopted a survey research design implemented on a population of 104 respondents. It was found that VAE students required all the competencies identified in the entomological literacy, housing, planning, and maintenance of edible insects for economic empowerment psotgraduation. The finding of the test of hypotheses showed no significant difference (p>0.05) in the respondents’ mean responses on the entomological literacy, housing, planning, and maintenance competencies needed in the production of edible insects. From this findings, it was therefore recommended that all the identified competencies of edible insect production be applied in the training of VAE students.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128725693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Seven risk categories were proposed, which are technology, organization, economy, government, nature, crime and public. The proposed categories of success factors were regulatory agencies, water operators, financial, assets, human resource, contract and public. Categories of risks and success factors were developed based on the integration of theory of perceived risk (Bauer, 1960), risk items of Ameyaw (2015), stakeholder theory and legitimacy theory. To validate the proposed categories of risks and success factors, 100 questionnaires were distributed by post to the management personnel of water operators and 32 questionnaires were returned. Descriptive analysis and relative importance index were used to analyze the data. The results indicated highest agreement towards the occurrence of risk factors in term of technology, economy and public. However, there was a big gap between risks’ probability of occurrence and risk allocation and also between severity of risk factors and risk allocation amongst water operators in Malaysia. This highlights low awareness amongst water operators in Malaysia on water risk management. Additionally, the respondents considered all items of success factors as important. Implicit in these findings is that there is a need for the regulatory agencies to play an active role in promoting risk management awareness amongst water operators through campaign, workshop and training programs.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127711738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To accompany this fight, researchers and scholars must also play the role of the investigator to identify the threats and convoy the smooth implementation of these activities. In this context, we aimed in this paper to assess the Laos-China bilateral anti-human trafficking cooperation (LC-BLIDC) against human trafficking between the two countries. The data was collected from a sample of 168 professionals who work to fight against human trafficking activities in Laos within the framework of LC-BLIDC. The study's empirical findings revealed that the attributes of individuals who have work experience in anti-human trafficking are associated with the success of the LC-BLIDC. The study, therefore, suggests training and education activities to be implemented with a focus on the individual instead of the department level.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130666326","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The majority of the Orang Asli people of the Temiar tribe live in areas near the forest and practice a traditional way of life that is heavily influenced by the old practices of their ancestors and the influence of the natural environment. In general, the Temiar tribal community highly depends on land used especially for settlement and agriculture. The Temiar tribe has some concepts related to tek saka and types of land that are not yet known by most of the outside community. Accordingly, a study using qualitative methods was carried out by taking an ethnographic approach to obtain information related to the concept of land and types of land use in the lives of the Temiar tribe. Interview techniques, participant observation, and FGD were used to obtain data from thirty informants from Orang Asli leaders, village residents, the Office of the Director of Lands and Mines State Officer, and the JAKOA Officer. The data were then analyzed using NVivo PLUS 12 software to obtain more accurate data. Findings show that land is the most important element in the life of the Temiar tribe that has been inherited from generation to generation to be used as a place to live and for agricultural activities. When it comes to land type, the Temiar tribe categorizes land use into tek saka (residence), tek selai (agricultural land), and tek tengos (forest area). For them, owned land only involves tek saka and tek selai. While tek tengos (forest area) is land that is not owned but is used jointly with the community.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114180632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed to analyze the actions of managers for corporate educational governance in private small and medium-sized universities, in the Southern region of Brazil. The investigation is qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory with primary data collected from semi-structured interviews with fifteen owners, executives, and managers of different private universities, analyzed with the content analysis technique. Our results point to educational governance as a management enhancer, as it gives direction, integrates the organization, and ensures institutional value, by monitoring and evaluating results in a sustainable way. Educational governance supports transparency, equity, and corporate responsibility. It is concluded that it is necessary to incorporate educational corporate governance with the inclusion of the principles of educational management and academic innovation together with university social responsibility to facilitate a transformative learning experience in higher education institutions.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"698 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120882886","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With an analysis focused on global condemning responses and heavy sanctions that Russia has received for its invasion of Ukraine, this paper will argue that China must not repeat the mistakes of Russia when dealing with Taiwan. Instead, China should avoid adopting the military option and try its best to resolve the issue peacefully. It is not just because it is the only rational choice for China on its path to becoming a responsible international stakeholder but also because it is in China’s own best national interest.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114151582","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was conducted by purposive sampling on 103 people who work in various ROE in Demak. The research method used is the Outer and Inner Model on Structural Equational Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results showed that there was a positive influence of affective, normative, and continuance commitment on intrinsic motivation. Affective, normative, and continuance commitments also have a positive effect on performance. There is a positive influence of intrinsic motivation on performance. Intrinsic motivation positively mediates the relationship of the affective, normative, and ongoing commitment to performance. ROE parties are expected to continue to build commitment to both affective, normative, and sustainable employees and good management so that they can continue to improve performance which ultimately improves the performance of ROE.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133792510","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Malaysia, there is a paucity of research exploring employers' perceptions toward hiring ex-offenders. This qualitative study aimed to collect in-depth data from employers on their perception of hiring ex-offenders in Malaysia. In addition, the employers also stated their views on how support can be provided to the ex-offenders. This study was based on interpretivism philosophy, and an inductive approach was considered more appropriate. In this qualitative study, data in words and voice was collected from eight employers by using semi-structured interviews. A thematic analysis was carried out to identify the themes that emerged from the collected data. The first question explored employers' perception of hiring ex-offenders, and the themes that emerged encompass rationale, perceived risk, the severity of crime, skills and knowledge and personal characteristics. The themes showed that hiring decisions are conditional. On the second question concerning the support, the three themes that emerged include fair treatment, mental support, and financial support. The study results provide an understanding to employers and HR managers on the perceptions of hiring ex-offenders into the workplace and providing support.","PeriodicalId":360263,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Public Administration and Governance","volume":"79 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132679434","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
