These transformations took off with the arrival of Raúl Castro to power and the reopening of political and diplomatic relations with the United States of America. The analytical framework revolves around the variables that determine profit and accumulation rates. An aggregate analysis of the Spanish economy confirms a positive ratio between profit and accumulation rates. However, a disaggregate analysis (seven sectors) shows that this positive relationship is only present in the two sectors tied to the real estate bubble (construction and financial services), which also drove economic growth during this time period, and the mining-supplies sector. This outcome allows us to characterize the development model followed by the Spanish economy during this time period.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":35889,"journal":{"name":"Problemas del Desarrollo","volume":"47 185","pages":"Pages 111-136"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1016/j.rpd.2016.04.003","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"55235061","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The evolution of international sovereign credit markets has made sovereign debt restructuring processes more complex. The current contractual approach to sovereign debt restructuring may become increasingly less effective in overcoming problems requiring collective action.
