The price for reactive energy supplied from a distribution network is expressed as sum of the price of it supplied by the transmission network and the price of reactive power transfer service by the distribution network. The profit margin, the excise on electricity and VAT will be added. A practical methodology of calculating the variable and fixed components of the reactive power transfer service price under uncertainty is presented. The structures of tariffs on medium and low voltage levels are assessed.","PeriodicalId":356169,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2010 Electric Power Quality and Supply Reliability Conference","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124103680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the spark-gap ignites, an overvoltage is coupled to the secondary side due to the steep voltage change. This overvoltage can reach to the customer socket. In this paper, the breakdown of MV spark-gaps is first modeled under an impulse voltage superimposed on AC voltage. To study the overvoltage propagation to the low voltage side, an accurate and simplified high frequency transformer model is used. The model, MV spark-gap and LV network are combined in ATP/EMTP to study the overvoltage spike propagation. Finally, the low voltage surge arrester at the secondary terminals of the distribution transformer is investigated for overvoltage mitigation.","PeriodicalId":356169,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2010 Electric Power Quality and Supply Reliability Conference","volume":"123 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129536512","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Theoretical research and field experience show that reducing overvoltage levels at arcing ground faults and decreasing the number of ground faults without increasing of ground-fault currents can be reached by connecting the neutral of the transformer to ground through a high-value resistor. For many enterprises, especially for the enterprises making small series of various products the production conditions and, respectively, the power consumption by different consumers can be significantly different from day to day. It is difficult to assess the real effect of optimizing the voltage level over a short-time. The method of the express-estimation of the power reduction effect caused by the reducing of the voltage level is discussed in the paper. A row of LV networks were investigated with the purpose to develop and to verify practical measures for the reduction of power consumption without affecting the production processes in the enterprises. The practical results of the carried out voltage optimization are discussed in the paper.","PeriodicalId":356169,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2010 Electric Power Quality and Supply Reliability Conference","volume":"248 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121428803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
