We undertake a quantitative systematic review of evidence on outcome after the Ross procedure with the aim to improve insight into outcome and potential determinants.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>A systematic search of reports published from October 1979 to January 2021 was conducted (PubMed, Ovid Medline, Ovid Embase and Cochrane library) reporting outcomes after the Ross procedure in patients with diseased aortic valve with or without LVOT. Inclusion criteria were observational studies reporting on mortality and/or morbidity after autograft aortic valve or root replacement, completeness of follow-up >90%, and study size n≥30. Forty articles meeting the inclusion criteria were allocated to two categories: pediatric patient series and young adult patient series. Results were tabulated for a clearer presentation.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>A total of 342 studies were evaluated of which forty studies were included in the final analysis as per the eligibility criteria. A total of 8,468 patients were included (7,796 in pediatric cohort and young adult series and 672 in pediatric series). Late mortality rates were remarkably low alongside similar age-matched mortality with the general population in young adults. There were differences in implantation techniques as regard the variability in stress and the somatic growth that recorded conflicting outcomes regarding the miniroot <i>vs</i> the subcoronary approach.</p><p><strong>Discussion: </strong>The adaptability of lung autograft to allow for both stress variability and somatic growth make it an ideal conduit for Ross's operation. The use of the miniroot technique over subcoronary implantation for better adaptability to withstand varying degrees of stress is perhaps more applicable to different patient subgroups.</p>","PeriodicalId":35584,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Social Work","volume":"81 1","pages":"280-297"},"PeriodicalIF":1.5,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8905099/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79144019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study examines the relationship between victimisation experiences and psychological problems. The study also explores the relationship between teacher-student relationships and psychological problems. A sample of 200 students comprising 100 males and 100 females in the age group 12 to 16 years was used. One-way ANOVA and hierarchical multiple regression analyses were carried out. Overt victimisation, relational victimisation and teacher humiliation positively predicted psychological problems. Overt victimisation was consistently related to both internalising problems and externalising problems among adolescents. The findings have implications for school-based interventions aimed at fostering resilience among students. The provisions of the 73rd Amendment were available to women in Jammu and Kashmir from 2003, owing to its limited constitutional autonomy under Article 370. This reservation provided an opportunity to a large number of women from the state to participate in the panchayat elections in 2011. In the first phase, an assessment of 211 adolescent girls was carried out, and in the next phase psycho-social intervention was imparted to 32 respondents and the efficacy was assessed. Results show that age of menarche was 13±1.14 years, duration of the menstrual cycle was 30.29±5.91 days, and 51 percent reported moderate abdominal pain during menstruation. The study found a statistically significant difference between pre assessment, and after one month and six months of intervention in physical symptoms and abdominal pain (p< 0.05). This paper explores the perspectives and experiences of young mothers with unintended teenage pregnancies. A qualitative study with a one-to-one approach was conducted with ten teenagers aged 16 to 19 years old with unintended pregnancy. The participants were selected via purposive sampling from a woman protection centre in west-coastal Peninsular Malaysia. Perspectives of unintended teenage pregnancy, factors influencing unintended teenage pregnancy, and approaches to overcome unintended teenage pregnancy were themes that emerged from the data. The study findings can be used to develop suitable models, training modules and educational programmes for the prevention of unintended pregnancy among teenagers.","PeriodicalId":35584,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Social Work","volume":"81 1","pages":"475-484"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46598061","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is a quantitative research based on the relational model. The findings of the study reveal that informal relationships and transactions at schools are at a medium level. Communication and informal relationships among school employees in and out of school is insufficient. School principals display transformational leadership behaviours more than transactional leadership behaviours. There is a mediumlevel and positive relationship between the level of informal relationships and school principals’ transformational leadership styles at high schools. According to the results of the study, an inverse and low relationship was found between informal relations and school principals’ transactional leadership style behaviours.","PeriodicalId":35584,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Social Work","volume":"81 1","pages":"431-458"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46747906","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
