This approach places empathy at the heart of the caregiver-patient relationship, and aims to facilitate empathetic attitudes in all those involved. It harmonizes with a personalized, person-centred strategy, while raising ethical and practical questions. Life skills are defined by the World Health Organization and Santé publique France as a coherent and interrelated set of psychological capabilities. They enable a person to maintain a state of psychological well-being and adopt appropriate, positive behaviors.
