Sometimes evoked in the wings of the inner circle, on the front of the stage, disgust remains forbidden, a kind of slash in the face of professional morality. Forged in the importance of relationships and respect for others, the care relationship makes little room for this experience. The palliative care situation of a 70-year-old patient suffering from a highly invasive cancer for which the odors were particularly nauseating lifts the veil on a frequent reality of the care relationship: disgust with the bodies being cared for. Beyond the exceptionality of this situation, we need to understand how it sheds light on the anthropological place that a care situation represents.</p>","PeriodicalId":35572,"journal":{"name":"Soins Gerontologie","volume":"30 171","pages":"19-23"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143075833","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The presentation of the management of a suspected case of collective toxi-infection in an establishment for dependent elderly people provides an opportunity to understand the value of these EMGs. Their mobility, as well as their ability to analyse and bring together different departments, means they can react quickly, which is particularly useful in a crisis involving elderly, and therefore vulnerable, residents. The EMGs are therefore proving to be key support players for nursing homes, whose staff resources are often fragile.</p>","PeriodicalId":35572,"journal":{"name":"Soins Gerontologie","volume":"30 171","pages":"42-44"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143075825","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Yet aging is an inescapable and universal condition that is not uniform. Old age deserves to be seen as a period of life marked by transformations that are not merely organic, but reveal a different way of apprehending life and inhabiting time. Thus, aging can also be an opportunity to open up time and maintain signs of life that allow us to pursue ourselves. For the extreme richness and complexity to which the garden bears witness, it seems an appropriate metaphor for thinking about the ordeal of aging, particularly from the angle of robustness and rebirth. The garden also seems a promising resource for stimulating sensory, aesthetic, capacity-building and relational experiences, with a view to nurturing an existence under the sign of revival, and for taking care of oneself in a perspective of full present.</p>","PeriodicalId":35572,"journal":{"name":"Soins Gerontologie","volume":"30 171","pages":"10-18"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143075827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
