A lot of people want to look\u0000good, eat well, be fi t and engage in physical activity. As a consequence, companies from the fi tness industry and\u0000producers of dietary supplements employ social media specialists in marketing agencies. Information published\u0000on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or YouTube reach up to thousands of people in a short time period. The Internet is\u0000full of profi les of people who publish their relationship with trainings, show progress on the way to a dream fi gure,\u0000talk about the fi ght against overweightness, diets rules, etc. The tools from the Instagram social network, as well as\u0000the number of users and hashtags associated with physical activity, fi tness and promotion of a healthy lifestyle, are\u0000vast. On Instagram, the most popular hashtags were #love, #instagood, #me, #happy, #girl, but the #fi tness hashtag\u0000was 18th, the #sport 152nd, place for a total of about 92 million hashtags. The matter of physical activity is important\u0000for many users of this social platform. The values which were originally\u0000located in men involve the commonly known ones which are included in the basic categories of ethics – truth,\u0000goodness and beauty. Unfortunately, in present times, traditional values seem to lose to the unrefl ectively popular\u0000trend of success and being “cool”, fi t and trendy. Roszkowska","doi":"10.5604/01.3001.0013.7559","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5604/01.3001.0013.7559","url":null,"abstract":"Polish Tatra tourism and its specialised form – mountaineering, experienced a dynamic period of their development in the second half of the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century, at a period when Poland did not exist on world maps. At that time, the Tatra Mountains for Poles, were more than a place of fascination with mountains or implementation of mountain passion, they were a symbol of freedom, a kind of sacrum, „altars of freedom” and a testimony of national pride. Perhaps for this reason, the history of mountain climbing was viewed from a local, Polish perspective. In this article, it is shown that the development of tourist activity in the Tatras as well as the origin and evolution of mountain climbing were largely conditioned by inspirations fl owing from Western European mountaineering. This infl uence was manifested in the theoretical (ideological) dimension conditioned by knowledge of mountaineering literature, direct contact between mountaineers and mountaineering achievements during climbing trips to the Alps and the Dolomites, and the support received by Polish mountaineers from active mountaineers in the Tatras. The study examined 252 people (168 men, 84 women, the average age was 24.09 years).\u0000The athletes were representatives of the Ekstraklasa, and the I and II football Liga. They formed 3 groups: the fi rst\u0000group comprised men from the Ekstraklasa, the second - men from the II Liga and the third - women from the Ekstraklasa\u0000and the I Liga.\u0000The research made use of the following tools: NEO- FFI Personality Inventory in the Polish adaptation by Zawadzki\u0000et al. (1998), FCB - TI Temperament Questionnaire (1997), Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS) by Endler\u0000and Parker, in the Polish adaptation by Strelau et al. (2007).\u0000Analysis of the results showed that agreeableness (AG), conscientiousness (CS) and perseverance (PE) proved to\u0000be important predictors of the task-oriented coping (TOC). Emotion-oriented coping (EOC) is conditioned by: neuroticism\u0000(NEU), agreeableness (AG), conscientiousness (CS) and perseverance (PE). In the case of avoidance coping\u0000(AOC), extraversion (E) and activity (A) turned out to be important predictors. However, the style of coping oriented\u0000towards engagement in substitute activities (involving in substitute activities - ISA) is conditioned by: neuroticism\u0000(NEU) and extraversion (E).
